Contrary to the name, which evokes images of something more floral, this tea tasted quite earthy. It was actually pretty nice, but there's an odd after-taste that clashed with the main taste. (Cold brewed for 10 hours.)

A good chocolate tea, with a hint of strawberry and rose

★★★★★

This smells and tastes exactly how Valentines Day looks. It's like opening a box of chocolate covered strawberries. Aromatic and sweet! I like it best with a tablespoon of sugar.

Delicious black tea with a nice rose flavor. Just a tad too light for me.

So interesting! Wasn’t sure how chocolate covered strawberries would taste. It’s very rich and unique and makes a lovely tea with a little stevia.

Love the chocolate and the cherry punch of flavor.

★★☆☆☆

I like rose petals in tea, but I am just not a fan of this one. Very flowery scent and flavor, and not much else going on, it's just a bit boring.

★★★★☆

Sweet, but the strawberry doesn't come through as much as I hoped; when it does, it tastes a bit artificial. Otherwise the chocolate is deep without any bitterness and it hardly needs much sweetening at all.

I don't know what ingredient it is in this tea, but it's very bitter. Saw some other reviews suggesting to brew it at a lower temperature so I'm going to try that.

Update: I tried brewing it at a lower temperature, and I still thought it was bitter.

Was excited to taste. Flavor was ok, but had a bitter taste to it.

★★★★★

This is a nice blend that tastes like chocolate covered strawberries. Excellent option when you're craving something sweet, but want to be conscientious of calories.

★★★★☆

A solid black tea for drinking with milk and sugar for when you want something a little more exciting than Earl Gray or English Breakfast. Sometimes rose in black tea can be a problem for me, but in this case it was fine.

This tastes like black forest cake in a cup, yum!

★★★★☆

This tea smells wonderful but comes out very strong and overwhelmingly tastes of bitter dark chocolate when brewed in soft water. In harder tap water, more of the strawberry flavor comes out to compliment the chocolate, which comes through more mellow. On its own, Valentine's is not as complexly satisfying as Ripe for Romance nor as pleasantly creamy as Libra, but tastes much stronger. It stands up to cream and sugar better than Libra and about as well as Ripe for Romance. Overall, this is a great concept as a romantic tea for a chocolate lover, and a wonderful price, though Ripe for Romance wins in terms of pretty presentation and pleasantness without additives. I wish Adagio would use some of their more colorful rose petals, as the faded yellow/brown/pink do not have the same appeal as the pink petals in their pantry/Selefina products.

Really good chocolate and vanilla flavor… I mix with coconut or a berry

★★★★☆

A nice strawberry chocolate-y treat. I find brewing these flavored blacks at a bit of lower temperature helps reduce some bitterness. The black tea base isn't my absolute favorite but it's not bad. I do not typically add anything to my teas for what it's worth.

Updated: I've found the magic setting I think for this, 195F and 2.5 minutes brewing time, no hint of bitterness now.

Nice and sweet, really tasted like the holiday in a cup.

★★★★★

This is such a cute tea . Adorable little sprinkles, delicious chocolate flavor, delicious strawberry flavor and a perfect black tea base. I highly recommend to anyone who likes chocolate teas!

Great tea if you’re craving something sweet! The chocolate and strawberry flavors both come through well. Delicious as is — no milk or sweetener needed in my opinion!

★★★★☆

I note stronger hints of chocolate than strawberry. A nice tea when your looking for something with a 'dessert' finish.

★★★★★

This one is lovely. Perfect combination of light strawberry and sweet chocolate!

Yummy tea that was perfect for a friend's tea tasting

Our all time favorite! Love the slight chocolately flavor mixed with strawberry.

★★★★★

I lived this tea! It was pretty chocolatey so if your not into that then you might not be super into it but I made this for a guy on a first date because neither of us like coffee and we both loved it!

This tea tastes almost juicy with the strawberry flavor. The cocoa/strawberry is not overwhelming but is quite yummy!

★★★★★

I loved this. The rose hip was pretty tart while the tea was warm, but when it cooled off a bit, the strawberry came through and oh my goodness… this is dessert in a cup. I loved it!

This tea is okay. I'm not into chocolate-based teas too much so I may be biased, but it's definitely got the chocolate strawberry taste to it. I may have to brew a weaker cup for myself next time, but if you like chocolate covered strawberries then this tea is for you.

This is the second time I’ve gotten this tea. I personally love the flavor but if you don’t really like the taste of rose I would either drink it very warm or pass. The colder the tea gets the stronger the rose flavor is.

I bought a sample and now I need a whole bag! My first cup I tried to make decadent with half and half and a teaspoon of brown sugar, and it was tasty but nothing special. My second cup I made with a teaspoon of honey and a splash of milk... and suddenly I could taste the chocolate strawberries! I don't know why, but it needs a little honey to bring out all the flavor. This is probably my new favorite tea... get the full size

I absolutely love this tea!!! My friend got me started on this. Now one of my favorites!

★★★★★

I brewed my Valentines tea cold with some extra cocoa nibs, rose petals, freeze-dried strawberries, and a little rock sugar. It was good! Unfortunately, I really didn't get any chocolate flavor and of course the rose petals are so mild I didn't really expect anything out of those either. The strawberry flavor is really the star in this. I would definitely recommend this tea!

Not a big fan of this one…had high hopes but it just didn’t make the cut

I could certainly taste the chocolate in this tea, it was interesting. The flavors all blended together well, but I'm not sure I like a chocolate flavored tea.

Strong flavor. I liked it better with double water and not-so-strongly flavored cookies.

Not my favorite... I've realized that I don't like the chocolate flavor in tea

★★★☆☆

Decent chocolate strawberry but not outstanding. Nothing extraordinary about it.

★★★☆☆

not a huge fan of this one. the chocolate kind of gives it a bad taste

★★★★☆

I loved the holiday vibe with the sprinkles. I definitely tasted the chocolate.

Not really a favorite. Not sweet enough for me. Although I did taste the strawberry which was nice.

Really great tea. I made it for a Sunday Afternoon get together and my friend immediately went to buy some even though she's not super into black teas. It's a little fruitier than the Summer Rose. highly recommend.

★★★★☆

This was nice, I didn't a strong strawberry flavor, but I think that might be a good thing since I don't exactly know how I feel about mixing fruit flavors with a hot black tea. I did have the chocolate flavor come through. All in all, it is a good tea and I would gladly have this one again.

One of my best (alone with lapsang souchong) - soft, light pleasant aroma. The only thing to note - it has tiny pieces of chocolate which i wouldn't like in my tea so I just remove them before adding water. Helps me to relax too :).

★★★★★

Kind of similar to Mrs. Fishers Lipstick. Both are delicious.

I enjoyed this tea, but not enough to buy more. You definitely taste the rose and the chocolate.

Fun dark flavor with hint of chocolate. Not overpowering

The gentlest hint of chocolate covered cherries … literally Valentine’s Day in a tea

3 min steep · 212°F

★★★☆☆

Nice aroma but not much flavor. Obviously I'm at odds with other reviewers, but even with a bit of honey and half and half it just didn't thrill.

★★★★★

This is complex, multilayered cup. Initially I steeped it at 212 for 4 minutes, which made it too bitter. At a slightly lower temp for a shorter time, it had a floral and chocolate scent, with a gently rich flavor, perfect with a touch of cream. A second steeping with the same leaves at 190 for 3 minutes yielded a sweeter floral flavor.

Right thing for a romantic dinner for the ones who enjoy smelling roses, but maybe not for me. Worth to try though.

Omg I can’t express how much I LOVE this tea! It has chocolate in it! Literally like a warm cup of dessert. I’ve actually skipped several desserts lately in favor of a cup of Valentines tea
