UPDATE from 2/7/22: There is a sweet smell of chocolate and caramel inside the CommuniTEA packet, with the slight aroma of something smoky. It steeps at a lower temp to become a beautiful, clear deep red amber tea, with a vanilla/chocolate aroma. The bitter chocolate and black tea bites me like an angry tiger as I take a sip. I cannot drink this plain. Adding ¼ teaspoon sweetener and heavy whipping cream (to 10 oz) calms the tiger, sweetening him, making his caramel and vanilla smoother and creamier. He purrs as I continue to drink, and his vanilla softens the bitter dark chocolate on the finish. Yummy hot or cold. Hopefully rubbing his belly will bring good luck. ( 3 mins @ 200ºF + sweetener and cream).

I’m closer to a very enjoyable cup of Tiger Eye after brewing many times using different steep times and temps. My CT packet had 5 g/ 2 ¼ tsp of all ingredients. I brewed 14 oz. at 195*F for 5 min.

Lowering the brewing temp helped to rein in the natural astringency of the tea and the longer steep time helped the cocoa nibs impart a more chocolatey flavor. The chocolate flavor, however, had more of a supporting role while the caramel flavor and the black tea tannins were the main tastes. No bitterness, though, was detected. A sweetener add elevated the flavors wonderfully and I could sip without a dairy add.

Chilled, this was a delightful iced tea. The caramel flavor really shined while the other flavors were more mellowed by the cold. This tea is great in blends and wonderful as a solo tea too, hot or cold.

I love the flavors of chocolate & caramel with the black tea. I add 2% milk to create a tea-latte.

For caffeine sensitivity try to have this one only about once, twice a day at most for a pick me up but for a black tea it's good

This has an amazing caramel and chocolate flavor while still having the traditional black tea flavor.

This is totally a favorite for me and my daughter - when you add your sweetener of choice and a splash of milk it is like a fabulous dessert where the caramel and chocolate flavors mix with vanilla hints from the caramel - so yummy!!

★★★★☆

Really cool blend. The flavor combination is enjoyable. While I wouldn't put this high on my list of favorites, I'm a fan of flavor diversity so I always go back.

★★★★★

oh what an indulgence in a cup! it's like have dessert without the calories. I added a bit of honey and tried it with and without milk. It's just decadent

Lovely blend of caramel and chocolate with the background of black tea. Excellent for when you want a little something sweet!

★★★★☆

A decent, but not remarkable, cup of tea with cocoa overtones. Reduced temperature to avoid bitterness and had with a bit of milk and sugar.

Love this tea. Rich and flavorful. I tried to switch from coffee to tea, and this one made it a lot easier.

pretty good. i tried this a while ago and never reviewed it so i'm getting around to it now that i've ordered it again. definitely lives up to its reputation as chocolatey. not my favorite tea, but it's good enough that i'm reordering so that's gotta say something right?

Tiger eye is a full bodied and latte esque tea experience

This has become absolutely one of my favorite teas. I got it to try more potential bases for eventually making my own blends, but now I just want to drink this by itself all of the time. The only other tea I've bought in larger amounts than a sampler or a tin so far is the pu-erh hazelberry, but this one is probably going to be the next. With milk and sugar, it's a replacement for dessert in the evenings or any time of day.

★★★★★

Nice chocolate and caramel blend. I get both milk and dark chocolate. Makes for a tasty dessert tea. I prefer other Adagio flavored black teas but I will look for this as the weather begins to chill.

9/21 update...gotta say I actually really adore this. Now a 5.

My husband is a die-hard coffee drinker (loves dark roast), but has starting drinking a mid-morning cup of tea. He really enjoyed the Tiger Eye - says the hints of caramel were noticeable and really appreciated the smooth/creamy flavor. I have been instructed to order a larger package!

★★★★☆

To me, Tiger Eye is good, not great. I was expecting a rich explosion of chocolate and caramel, but instead got a muted, kind of mixed taste of something sweet. It was perfectly okay to drink, but having also just taste-tested the pure Caramel tea, I think I would turn to that instead.

Yummy morning tea with a little home and vanilla almond milk!

Love this! But then I love strong tea. Dense, just enough sweet flavor to not need anything in it.

One of my absolute favorite black teas. The black tea, chocolate, and bergamot bouquet makes for a delicious blend that goes down smooth and is enjoyable any time of day. Double steeped the leaves sometimes, to make this one last just a bit longer.

★★★★★

Of the chocolate flavors I've tried from Adagio, this one tastes the best without adding a lot of sugar. The initial flavor is a very mild, pleasant vanilla note which accents a relatively strong, but not overbearing, chocolate aftertaste. (Cold brewed for 10 hours)

★★★★★

I really enjoy this tea. It has slight hints of chocolate and it reminds me of an old Teavana favorite which I cannot remember but it was Mate something.

So delicious! Creamy and decadent. Lovely way to start my day and since it is already sweet, I don’t need to add any sugar. I can just drink some tea instead of eating a sweet treat.

This one's a good mid-morning tea - strong, pretty dark-chocolatey, can stand a good bit of milk without the flavors being covered up. Also very easy to over-brew (it does get bitter pretty fast so pay attention to your timer!).

This tastes pretty much like Irish Stout (St Patrick's Day promo tea) minus the sprinkles. My partner likes that tea so it's nice to know we can get it at other times of the year.

Update: After having Irish Stout again recently, this tea tastes more smokey because of the caramel flavoring. We prefer Irish Stout.

Rich flavor. I add milk or half and half. I like to drink this bold tea in the morning. Gets me going!

The caramel was a little on the sweeter side but overall this is a pretty enjoyable black tea. I dont regret trying it.

It's good but not a standout to me. If you are looking for a caramel tea, it's one of the best ones. It doesn't taste artificial.

I really enjoyed this tea! It had just enough chocolate and caramel. Just don't drink it in the evening! ha!

One of my absolute favorite. I didn't know how I was going to like the chocolate in teas but it's delicious

★★★☆☆

It didn't have enough flavor for me.. almost like all the individual flavors canceled each other out. I ended up adding it to other teas.

★★★★★

This is a good combination of chocolate, caramel, and vanilla. All the flavors compliment each other and is great for a dessert tea, especially if you add some sweetener and a little heavy cream.

I brewed my Tiger Eye with some extra cocoa nibs and chocolate honey and it was SOOO good! There were a lot more flavor notes in here than in most other chocolate teas. I was absolutely blown away by how good this tea is!! I am even thinking up a blend for it already. I would highly recommend this tea!!!

It's delicious taken with cream. Personally, without the cream it would be a meh tea but it tastes very good with it.

This tasted a bit synthetic to me for some reason.

Good but wish it had a bit more chocolate. I added it with the chocolate truffle and that was a winner combo.

The chocolate and caramel flavors blend so well with the black tea base. I really love this one. A little cream and sugar make it even better!

I love tiger eye! It’s got a great caramel and vanilla flavor in a little bit of creaminess. It’s my new breakfast tea

I really expected to like this tea a lot, as it has so many flavors that I'm such a fan of. The combination just didn't do it for me, though. While the tea was fine, the chocolate felt overpowering to me and I found myself searching for any hint of vanilla and caramel. I tried both with and without cream and this one was just so-so for me.

I enjoyed this te. More than I thought I would. It has a depth of flavor I wasn't expecting of dark chocolate and real caramel instead of sweet, artificial caramel. I could drink this everyday.
