The aroma of this tea is very strongly rose, the flavor slightly less so. There is definitely rose flavor but it's somewhat overwhelmed by the black tea. It's not bad but it's also not a must have for my tea collection.
Our Summer Rose tea invokes the sweet lingering fragrance of late summer roses winding up a garden trellis. Mellow and deliciously floral, this rose tea is balanced with the bright briskness of a Ceylon black tea.

I am not generally a floral tea lover. This tea was much better than I had expected. It was smooth and while had a rose flavor it was not over powering. I had 3.6 g of tea - so 16 oz for 3 minutes at 212.
Really nice flavor! Good black tea with nice rose flavor. Not really light or refreshing, which the word summer can give the idea of, but still really good!
Love, love, flipping love this tea. It’s amazing on its own and is great in blends. If you like rose this is the tea for you. If you don’t like rose you probably shouldn’t drink rose flavored tea.
A lovely soft rose tea, perfect for a quiet moment paired with a good book. I think of beautiful libraries with leather bound books and wooden ladders to reach them when I think of rose tea. This one is familiar, having tasted it before in fandom blends I’ve sipped. This stand alone floral relaxes me and brings some calm. The magic is in the brewing.
My CT packet had 3 g / 2 tsp of dark tea leaves and a scattering of beige pink petals. Brewed 12 oz. for a hair under 195*F for barely 3 minutes. The color of the liquor was a medium brown and the scent a gentle rose one. A sweetener add and a splash of milk soothed the temperamental Ceylon tea base nicely and complimented the rose flavor. A resteep was even more delicious with a milder flavor of Ceylon and a touch of rose. Didn’t need a dairy add for this second cup, just a little sweetener to bring out its gentle floral taste. Chilled, the cold tea had a similar milder flavor as the resteeped cup. As an occasional delight, I’ll revisit this floral tea from time to time and continue to enjoy it in a bouquet of blends where it adds so much.
not a fan. i can deal with teas where rose is an accent, but as its own thing? way too floral for me. the smell of the dry tea alone was enough to make me feel nauseous (strong rose scents in general make me feel kinda queasy) it was ok with a generous amount of milk and some honey, but not my cup of tea at all
I love the light floral taste of this tea! Its great for anytime of the day!
Brewed according to package instructions - I had it iced with 2 rock sugar cubes and a splash of sweet cream. First sip is nicely floral, I'm a huge fan of rose flavored anything so this tea was perfect for me. The aftertaste isn't bitter and does not have that cloyness that comes from artificial rose flavored things.
I absolutely love the scent of this tea. The rose scent with the brisk scent of ceylon mixes well and is a pick-me-up in and of itself. However, I had the foresight to drop in a small chunk of sugar because ceylon tends to be too strong in its flavour for me- and it was. I think I might enjoy the rose flavour more in a slightly less overpowering base tea.
CommuniTea: This sure tastes of rose. If that is your thing - you might enjoy it.
I do like rose, but the flavor just didn’t come through for me this time. It was just bitter and bland. Adding sweetener did not help. This was sampled through CommuniTEA so it’s possible that I didn’t get a good representative mix in the packet. 🌹
I tried this tea cold brewed, hoping to keep rose flavors mild and minimize astringency. This worked wonders - rose was delicate throughout the sip, pairing beautifully with dark and fruity Ceylon flavors. I'm not a fan of rose, in general, but Adagio has some masterful rose blends that even I can enjoy. With a splash of creamer, this was a wonderfully refreshing sip for dewy mornings.
Lovely aroma of rose. This tasted like a black tea with just a touch of rose that left a pleasant rosy aftertaste. I’m glad the rose taste was light because any stronger than this would make me feel like I was drinking perfume or bath powder. This is just right.
Strong black tea with floral aroma and smoothness 🫖
I’m coming at this from the perspective of not being a rose or floral fan. Opening the packet, I was greeted with as much rose aroma as I would have experienced if I had inserted my nose in the most fragrant rose bouquet I had ever smelled. It was overwhelming—so overwhelming that I thought it was going to be a problem. But it wasn’t. This ended up being a more enjoyable tea than I imagined it would be.
This is a great floral tea for anyone who loves bold floral flavors. The rose comes through strongly and can’t be missed. It’s great in blends too.
I’d give this one a 3.5, but I’m being generous with my actual stars that will reflect in the review. This has a very strong float scent. Beautiful aroma. The taste is pleasant, but much lighter than expected from the smell.
This is nice and I liked it more with a bit of honey, but I think floral flavors are better in lighter teas like green or white rather than black tea. Still, it was a pretty mellow, well-rounded tea and definitely rosy.
Not a big fan of rose, but this worked. It was mellow enough but still pleasantly rose to the nose and palet. The black Cylon tea seems to help even things out a touch.
UPDATED 7-11-22: Today's CommuniTEA is Summer Rose. I added extra rose petals and tupelo honey. It was very good! I have had this tea several ways and these are the following combinations that I found worked well:
Rose Petals and Garden Herbal Honey
Mango, Orange Peels, Raspberry Leaves, Strawberry, and Black Tea Honey
Butterfly Pea Flowers, Hibiscus, Rose Petals, and Black Tea Honey
and Burdock and Black Tea Honey
The follow combination did not work well: Lemon Balm and Black Tea Honey
I love this tea very much and, in fact, use it in some of my blends. I would highly recommend this tea!
ORIGINAL: I brewed the Summer Rose tea this evening with some extra rose petals and garden herbal honey. The tea itself is rather plain and I find that the rose petals don't really do anything other than make it look pretty. Haha! But it's a good tea! I can see myself blending this one with other teas. I think I would recommend this tea!
I just hate rose tea. It's like drinking grandma's perfume. I tried. Couldn't do it, had to dump this one.
Such a soft rose aroma coming out of the Ct pack! I would swear I am picking up notes of cocoa even tho it is not listed. Even tho my experience with rose tea tells me to watch the brew time I still somehow managed to over brew. However, a little manuka honey and 1/2 Tbl spoon of dry milk and I am extremely impressed with the lovely flavors! It’s a darn good cuppa tea. A delightful floral that manages to be natural and not perfume. Overall it’s a balanced rose not overpowering.
CommuniTEA portion: Cold steeped this overnight. Strong rose scent upon opening the package. Very heavy floral taste. No bitterness at all but just incredibly perfume-y to me. I am not a big floral tea fan and this one is very floral. If you love rose, this tea is for you!
I love a good strong cup of black tea, so it was no problem that I failed to follow the instructions and use more water (or less tea). I steeped it at 200 degrees for 3 minutes so I didn’t find it bitter at all, just bracing with a lovely rose scent and taste! There was much less rose in the weaker second steep, but it was still quite good.
11 Jul 22 - Wonderfully aromatic cup today! The roses are soft and smell like a summer garden. The tea in this batch is full-bodied, very lightly astringent and smooth and rich. No bitterness this time! I really enjoyed this cup this morning.
27 Mar 21 - Very aromatic of roses. The Ceylon base tea brews up a bit too bitter and astringent for me, even when brewed at a lower temperature. It does however make an excellent addition to blends with other softer teas.
The smell of the rose when I opened the tea bag was a bit intense, to the point where I wasn't expecting to like this. However, while the rose is strong flavored it's not nearly as bad brewed as the smell suggests. I added a little milk and sugar to help further mellow it out and it was actually pretty good!
I have a personal bias against flowery tasting teas. That being said this one is one of the better ones. The floral scent is there as is the floral after taste. The flavor of the tea was nice though. I would suggest steeping it at a lower temp. It was a little bitter after steeping at 212*F.
Opening the package for the first time was like travelling back to childhood walks past wild Alberta roses. Once brewed, the black tea's bitterness is far more evident than the sweetness of the rose petals, but you can still taste them, especially as the tea cools. Brew way below boiling if you want to really bring out the floral notes.
love the taste of floral tea! works really well iced!
I love this smell so good and taste so good. One of my favorite ones. In order to not have a bitter after taste I suggest taking the tea bag out of your cup. Cuz it will get bitter if soaked for too long.
Love teas with a bit of rose: very tasty smooth blend.
I feel cheerful and awakened when drinking this tea.
I love this flavor it’s bright and yet has a full tea taste. The roses make it.
Light and summery, this is a very nice floral tea!!
This is an interesting black tea. I like it fairly well. Good for something different.
A nice tea if you like stronger hints of rose. You can smell the floral fragrance with every sip. Personally, it was too overpowering for me.
This tastes exactly like I was hoping it would! The rose really comes out.
I love this tea year round, the light taste of rose makes me think of summer and warm sunny days even in the darkest of winter.
Nice rose flavor, i think it would taste quite good iced
Absolute favorite. Don’t usually like floral tea but Summer Rose is awesome. Its light but lots of taste. Great for iced tea too.
This is pretty good for a flavored black tea. The rose petals are both fragrant and flavorful and add a soothing touch to the blend of black teas.
One of my all-time favorites, and not just in summer.
This tea inspired me to start adding roses to other teas
The tea indeed smells like roses with hints of cherries and blueberries, but also an air freshener and play dough scent reminiscent of the black cherry tea I tried recently. I'll skip straight to the end of my review now - it tastes like soap. I had a hard time finishing my cup.
I was a little harsh in my first review. The rose is a bit overpowering, but if you drink it piping hot, it is a decent robust black tea. Not great, but not unbearable.
bought as a present, tried it later. very floral tea.
This is my favorite tea ever and I keep buying more. I like my black tea to be full bodied and robust, which this is, and the addition of rose adds a floral and earthy element. I will continue to buy this until it's no longer an option!
The fragrance is lovely, but it is not an everyday flavor. It would be wonderful for girlie tea party.
I had never tried a rose infused tea before but this tea was surprisingly delicious and aromatic
A delightful floral tea that has tons of flavor without being overpowering. It tastes very distinctly of rose, rather than a generic floral tea. One of my favorite cups! @adagioteas
I loved the smell. But the flavor was disappointing to me.
