I am not a rose fan so the overpowering aroma of rose when I opened the CommuniTea packet and my cup after coldseeping overnight was too much. I took a small sip and had to dump the rest.
Our Summer Rose tea invokes the sweet lingering fragrance of late summer roses winding up a garden trellis. Mellow and deliciously floral, this rose tea is balanced with the bright briskness of a Ceylon black tea.

I am not a rose fan so the overpowering aroma of rose when I opened the CommuniTea packet and my cup after coldseeping overnight was too much. I took a small sip and had to dump the rest.
I don't usually love flowery teas as they can remind me too much of soap but this was lovely. Nice hot and iced.
I don't like tea where the flower is tasted up front, so I did not like this tea. The Rose was front and center in this tea.
Huge Rose fan, here... therefore..J'adore this tea! Added a bit of rock crystal sugar, a scooch of creme & a sprinkling of Selefina Cacao powder..and oh yes, you better believe I added MORE rose petals! š¹ Perfection.
In the bag: Mostly ceylon, but several rose petals as well, ranging in size.
On the nose (pre-steep): Just unsweetened cocoa. Almost no rose scent ā I have to hunt for it to find it. If I smelled this blind, I would assume it's plain black.
On the nose (post-steep): Similar to pre-steep, but the rose is a little stronger.
On the tongue (pre-sweetener): Classic ceylon flavors. Some bitterness. No rose, though the bitterness might be blocking it.
On the tongue (post-sweetener): Rose has returned as a bare hint.
Opinion: A decent tea, but not my favorite. Other than a faint hint here and there, rose is absent. Thus this blend doesn't live up to its potential. I recommend a conservative steeping to avoid astringency.
Preparation: First steep 3 min, second steep 6 min. Both @ 195 ā. ½ teaspoon monk fruit sweetener.
The more I drink this, the more I love it! š So delicious hot, cold, or anything in between. If you love rosy tea, itās definitely worth a buy.
Smells divine. Aromatherapy, most definitely. Transported me to a fragrant garden. The floral was too strong for me. If you enjoy a floral sip, go for this one! The rose blends well with the black tea. Just babysit the cup, you donāt want to over steep.
Rose is always a lovely flavor and this is no exception.
I've been looking for a rose tea that doesn't disappoint, I've come across too many with a weak rose flavor. This one is perfectly aromatic
As you might expect from a rose tea, this one is extremely floral and has a strong (not unpleasant) smell. Strong aftertaste as well. I wouldn't say it's bad, but it doesn't work for me.
Pretty good rose tea, but missing a strong floral punch. If you are looking for a light floral note, this is a great tea for you. I'll try to brew it for a shorter time to see how it turns out. Also cold brewing it into an ice tea may be nice
While a tasty and sweet tea, the scent rubs me the wrong way. It reminds me too much of those scented markers from grade school, and maybe that's because those were rose-based scents, or the formula of those lab-made scents are similar to summer roses. Regardless, that's a personal grievance. This is still an enjoyable, sweet tea. Would be interested in seeing a rose and white tea blend from adagio to let the rose flavors breathe a bit more, as they can get a bit lost in the strong body of the ceylon.
A delicious black tea with an amazing scent. My only complaint is that I wish it tasted of rose a bit more. I will certainly repurchase though.
Not as much rose as I was hoping, but a delicious tea nevertheless!
I love this tea. It's rich, with a strong but soft rose flavor, not soapy or perfumey at all. The black tea is strong enough to stand up against the rose.
This is a really mellow fragrant tea. Good afternoon tea when you're looking for a small cup. I'm not sure I would drink this every morning as part of my alternative to coffee type tea, but I would drink it in the afternoon for a pick-me-up
I very much enjoyed this tea. It has a lovely rose fragrance as soon as you open the package and a wonderful flavor. I had added a bit of sugar to it and it was perfect after that. One of my favorite teas so far.
Wow, this one surprised me. It smells very strongly like fresh roses. It tastes strongly of roses. With sugar it tastes AMAZING. This is one of my favorite teas now. It's great hot and cold.
Perfect adder to lemonade and tea flavor enhancer and I also use in my personal custom blends at home.
Gorgeous flavored tea and my favorite flavored tea. Try it iced with honey in the summer.
For me, this is a personal, hands down favorite. There used to be this tea house where I would go with my daughter and a close friend that served rose tea. The tea house closed down and I was bummed because, at that time, I did not know about Adagio. When I found Adagio, this was my first purchase, and it is a frequent cup of tea for me in the morning. The beautiful rose smell, and taste, are just perfect!
This tea is light and airy! I love the subtle rose flavor. Itās so unique
This may be my personal take, but I think this one smelled and tasted like a bar of soap my grandmother would keep in her bathroom. Of all the teas I have tried, this is the only one I would never buy again.
I received this as a sample and am torn on it. I love floral teas to death, but I hate the smell of roses. In terms of tea, this is a delicious floral tea. Yum! But it made my breath smell like rose for an hour later. So it's perfect for rose-lovers.
The mere smell of this tea makes me so happy. I often enjoy it with finger sandwiches and fancy pastries⦠a tea party for one!
I keep looking for a good rose tea. They are so hard to find. Some have just a weird scent and flavor. This one is really good. Not too strong with subtle floral notes. I like it without sweetener and with cream and honey.
I love the delicate floral flavor of this tea. Excellent hot or iced, and likely to please any guest.
Very floral, which is what I was hoping for. I add a dash of (non-dairy) milk to bring out the rose flavor.
Definitely getting big rose and floral taste that blends well with the black tea. Was not sure if I would like this as much as other Adagio black teas but yeah, this is good and I would get it again.
Light rose flavor that I enjoy along with the energy boost. This is one of my top favorite flavors to have on my way into work.
Definitely not a bad flavor, and I am not even the biggest fan of (non-jasmine) florals. The petals are a nice touch as well, if only visually.
Very delicious and delicate. Nice for the afternoon rest time. Love the fragrance. First time time trying flower teas
Solid black tea with rose, isn't overpowering. Excellent hot or cold.
The smell upon opening this tea was so intense, it almost made me feel sick. Once brewed, it became much less cloying and was actually pleasant. The flavor was clearly floral and rosy, which Iāve struggled to detect in other rose teas, but I canāt see myself drinking this much if I get nauseous preparing the tea.
Finally a rose tea that suits me! I am ordering more today.
I liked it hot, but have been making this as cold brew this summer & like it even better!
Love the rose flavor and the fragrance is great! Nice afternoon tea.
Floral and lovely. Definitely a favorite, and a go to in my cabinet! A perfect addition to my collection of teas
Beautiful floral tea. Be transported to an English garden!
I really like this tea as a quick, 1-cup only type of tea. It wasn't great as a cold brew or iced tea, but it really shined when I wanted to make something tasty without needing to make many adjustments.
Similar to the lychee rose green tea, this one isn't overly perfumy as some rose flavored things can be. It's a good black tea, but I can't drink it every day.
I cold brewed this tea today thinking it would tame the rose, but it didnāt. Iām not a big fan of rose in my tea. Itās not too bad if I hold my nose so I canāt smell it, the Ceylon is pretty good cold brewed. Itās the smell and taste together that turn me off. Itās too much like drinking perfume to me. If you like rose then you would enjoy this one.
One of the better high caffeine black teas I've had. The rose smell was prominent when I opened my CommuniTea envelope. I cold brewed it 10 hours in the fridge, and added Stevia. I found the rose taste very forward in this tea, and it did a great job of overpowering the (less desirable to me) black tea taste. I'm a big fan of floral teas and not of black teas, so this was a winner for me.
It's certainly floral! Soft, so a touch of sweetener can help to brighten it up.
I like this tea very much! The smell of roses from the packet is stronger than the taste of it in the cup. In other words, the rose is not too strong - at least not for me. I brewed it at 200 for 3 minutes. Itās a plus that itās decaf so I can cold-brew it once in awhile for a change, but itās also a nice, hot drink in the evening.
Definitely tastes like Rose! The black tea is nice, and I enjoyed mine with honey which covered up the flavor a bit.
UPDATED from 2/1/21: A fruity smell emits from the CommuniTea packet as it opens, and the many interesting ingredients steep into a pale yellow/citron green tea. The flavor is of a watermelon rolling down a fresh green grassy hill, as strawberries leapfrog over it. Since a watermelon has such a light watery flavor, the hibiscus and strawberries help give this tea a stronger fruitiness. For the second steep ¼ teaspoon of sweetener (to 10 oz) brings out more of the fruit flavor. As the tea cools it gets fruitier, so this would be great as an ice tea. I steep it many times, but the first two are the best. ( 3 mins @ 180ºF + sweetener).
Very floral, like taking a sip straight from a rose!
CommuniTEA sample: This tea has a strong scent of rose. But the taste is a mellow rose black tea.
Wow, what an aromatic and delightful tea! I do really enjoy floral teas, and rose in particular, so if you are not a fan you may find this one a little too much. I found the blend totally perfect :) 3 mins @195°F
