Raspberry Customer Reviews

Crisp black tea with playful raspberry flavor. Candy-like aroma, jammy flavor, tangy dry finish, not too 'cheeky.'

I'm not generally a huge fan of raspberry, so I wasn't expecting this to be a favorite.

First cup, I wasn't watching the time. Ended up steeping for too long, about 5 min @212F. I wasn't able to finish the cup. Way too bitter. Adding a bit of sugar helped a little, but not enough for me to get through the cup.

After reading some other reviews, I tried using water just before boiling and watched the clock closer to do the 3 min steep time. Added about 3/4 tsp of sugar and it is a huge improvement over the first cup. If I was a fan of raspberry, I would love this one. Just be careful with brewing this one, as it seems to go south quickly.

Nice raspberry aroma when I opened my CommuniTEA packet. Although I decreased the temperature to 195F x 3 minutes, it was quite bitter. I sweetened with honey, but that didn't improve the flavor. Second steep was at 180F x 3 minutes. Much better! Sweetened with a raw sugar cube, and finally taste the raspberries I smelled when I opened the package!
Update 8/7: steeped at 195 x 2 min. No bitterness, but still needs sweetener to bring out the flavor promised when you first open the packet and inhale the raspberry fragrance.

I love this tea. Love the raspberry flavor. I will for sure be trying this cold brewed but it is love as a hot tea.

In the bag: My packet is 95% ceylon. I have a few tiny bits of dried raspberry, but nothing near the size of that beautiful berry in the Adagio photo. Also, a few scattered pieces of finely chopped raspberry leaves.

On the nose (pre-steep): Delicate raspberry flavor is prominent. Not too sugary - the scent reminds me of fresh berry juice rather than something doctored. Hint of leaf smell.

On the nose (post-steep): Faint scent of raspberry. Just as with the pre-steep scent, there isn't much natural sugar here.

On the tongue (pre-sweetener): Very subtle raspberry flavors pair with unsweetened cocoa, with raspberry being slightly stronger. Not much bitterness, though there is some.

On the tongue (post-sweetener): No change in overall profile, though the mild sweetness is a welcome compliment.

Opinion: A decent tea, though too bitter to be a favorite. Even though I steeped at such a low temperature, I still tasted astringency. I want to be able to steep at full strength to get that juicy berry flavor, but I can tell that doing so would make the liquor so bitter that I couldn't drink it.

Preparation: First steep 3 min, second steep 6 min. Both @ 175 ℉, which is much lower than the recommended temperature because I wanted to avoid the astringency that many prior reviewers found. ½ teaspoon monk fruit sweetener.

10 oz, 3 mins @ 195* F, divided. Sweetener in both, cream in hot.

Hot
It has a nice berry flavor while hot. Letting cool a bit allows the berry to come through a bit more.

Cold
Without cream it was a bit off-putting to me. With the addition of cream, it became very dessert like in flavor. Very enjoyable. I'd give it 5 stars if I could have drank this w/o the cream while cold. But, it is very good, with the cream..

I will most definitely blend with this.

Very good, though I made the mistake of adding sugar when I should have only added the heavy cream that I usually use. I will have to try it again with no sugar.

This one was great but the slightly artificial raspberry taste grew a little old.

One of my faves! Pro tip- mix with some cream or vanilla tea for a delicious blend! I love all of adagios fruit flavors but i think this is my favorite so far.

This is a pretty simple tea, if you like black tea and raspberries separate you will like them together in this tea. A little tart like fresh raspberries and not too overpowering.

Good raspberry tea with flavor and berries. Better winter tea. Should be good with lapsang smoky tea

this has a very distinct raspberry taste and aroma. Probably one of the best flavored teas I have had. My dispenser puts out hot water at 170 degrees and I let it steep for 4 minutes.

The light berry flavor was good and didn't overpower the nice ceylon flavor. It came out just fine brewed cold.

This is my all time favorite. I have it almost every morning. I love the subtle taste of raspberry. Perfect!

We are big fans of raspberry tea. This is probably the best one we've had! We highly recommend it!!

★★★★★

Hint of sweetness well blended with raspberry flavor makes excellent iced tea. Don't need sugar to enjoy.

★★★★★

I love this tea! It is the perfect blend of black tea and raspberry. The raspberry flavor is rich and complex, not tart. It is similar to the flavor profile of a chocolate raspberry coffee. It smells and tastes wonderful!

★★★★★

The aroma of this tea is perfect! Fresh and sweet, it doesn't need sugar but definitely responds well to cream and sweeteners

★★★★★

Delicious! Black tea flavor came through with a natural raspberry flavor throughout. Very appealing smell. Will order again

I love raspberry but no tea I have tried has enough raspberry flavor. Maybe I just don't get it. But, I drank it all.

★★★☆☆

I didn't catch any raspberry flavor or raspberries in the sample packet I got so it tasted like straight black tea. I started mixing it with the Raspberry patch herbal tea to get more raspberry flavor and it's amazing!

This has a nice sweet and tangy raspberry without being overwhelming

Subtlety is the key for this blend. If you're looking for a strong, fruity berry flavor, this isn't for you. This is a nice black tea with a subtle hit of raspberry that you mostly enjoy through aroma. You won't be offended by tartness or sweetness, just a small twist to make this a little less than ordinary.

★★★★★

The tart taste of the raspberry contrasts perfectly with the heavier dull taste of black tea. My favorite flavor so far.

★★★☆☆

My partner likes iced sweet tea with raspberry so when this sample was 50% off, I ordered it. It was fine.

★★★★★

Great tea, not bitter as some could be, a family favorite.

I love raspberry tea and this one did not disappoint. It taste like an old fashion tea I use to buy at the Polish food store. Yum

★★★★★

I really enjoy this as an iced tea, more so than as a hot tea. I brew it hot to get maximum flavor, let it cool to room temperature, and then put it in the fridge. That's the way an iced tea should be made :)

Raspberry tea's an all-time favorite of mine! This one might be right up there with Bella Luna for me!

Tasty flavored black tea. Definitely can quickly become bitter if steeped too long. Around 190 for 2 minutes works well. Still plenty of flavor left for a second steeping. Simple, straightforward tea - raspberry and black tea. Makes fabulous iced tea when cold brewed..

This tea is also quite flavorful and definitely does taste of raspberry. I think I am personally just not into strong fruit flavors like this without the addition of other blending teas like cream, chocolate, etc. I do think however that it has a nice flavor overall and that those that really like raspberry will likely enjoy it.

★★★★★

I love raspberry tea and this one did not disappoint.

Not a fan of this one - to me, it just doesn't taste like raspberries. There were barely any pieces of raspberry in my sample so I'm not surprised!

This tea had the right amount of sweet and tart that I associate with raspberries. Very nice tea!

★★★★★

I'm not big on raspberry in general, but ever since I tasted Adagio's decaf raspberry, I've really thought highly of the tea. Now, I am finally reviewing its caffenated sister. It's the same great taste. None of the other fruit flavored black teas have lived up being great with exception to lemon soleil. If you have to drink a fruit flavored black, let it be this one.

Could be stronger, but overall I found it mostly pleasant to have the hint of raspberry

Very much a matter of taste. Good black tea with (for me) just the right amount of raspberry flavor.

Brewed my CommuniTea sample at 195 but then stuck in the fridge to chill as today was quite hot. Was worried that the tea would be bitter as that usually happens when rasberry leaves are present and ceylon can be a touch tricky but what a pleasant suprise! When cooled, I ended up with a tasty black tea infused with the bright, slightly tart flavor of rasberry.

Strong black tea baise with a slightly sweet, slightly tart, juicy undertone of raspberry. This tea is a prfect candidate for a refreshing cold brew iced tea.

The black tea taste was strong with this CommuniTea blend. The Raspberry flavor was a nice addition, but it was overwhelmed by the black tea taste to me.

★★★★☆

Today's CommuniTea packet is raspberry tea, made with black tea, raspberry flavor, raspberries and raspberry leaves. I love raspberries, but Adagio's black tea fruit blends are hit or miss with me. I went for a lower-temp quick steep and it was okay, better when I added some extra freeze-dried raspberries. Some cocoa nibs might be an interesting add-on for those who like chocolate and raspberries. Steeped in 12 ounces of 195-degree water for a little more than two & half minutes.

An overall tasty black tea. The aroma of the packet was a strong fruity smell. The taste of the raspberry was accentuated with some sweetener. Would definitely drink again.

★★★☆☆

Raspberry flavor is present and puckery throughout the entire sip, which really brings out black tea astringency. This is definitely a raspberry black tea - but those flavors don’t pair well on my palette. I have however tried some excellent blends that feature this tea!
