I brewed at a lower temperature and the bitterness was at a minimum.
There is strong orange flavor at first but as I continue the cup I find that the taste of the black tea takes over. This isn't so bad though because I brewed at a lower temp. (195F for 3min)

Excellent blend. Ten out of ten would drink again.

This tea has a nice orange aroma. Steeped, it has a mild orange flavor. It will probably be as good blended with other teas as it is alone. 8/22: Still enjoying the orange flavor and aroma.

This tea had a great orange smell but once brewed was mild and lacking of orangeness.

Citrus juicy black tea. A splash of honey brings out the flavor 🫖

I love the citrusy aroma when I opened my packet. Unfortunately the flavor wasn’t as strong as the smell. The tea had the Ceylon bitterness that I have come to expect with Ceylon teas and the orange flavor was not strong enough to overcome the bitterness.

This tea sounds better in theory than it smells or tastes. It has an incredibly strong orange smell, almost a little overpowering when you first open the bag. The orange-taste is slightly too much as well. Definitely not the worst tea, but I won't be getting this particular flavor again

I mix this tea with the Cranberry and it is delicious. The flavors compliment each other very well. Alone it is just as delicious. If you like fruit flavored teas, try this one.

I was not really impressed with this tea. I was hoping for something as flavorful as the blood orange tea and wound up a bit disappointed

I was surprised how much I like this tea. Some citrus teas are bitter and this one is not. It is very good and I've enjoyed it a lot.

I love the Grapefruit tea, and decided to try Orange tea. Orange flavor reminds me of cara cara oranges. Strong, but pleasant flavor.

I felt this tea had more of a tangerine taste than orange. It was ok but it was not what I was expecting.

Orange and Ceylon black tea make for a very astringent pair - but this sip is rounded nicely by a juicy orange aftertaste. Not one I would usually drink by itself, but I love it for blends.

I'm giving this one the benefit of the doubt and assuming I just happened to get a packet with little to no orange flavor. There was a tiny bit of an orange scent, but zero orange taste in the actual tea, which was very weak and disappointingly blah. I've had the decaf version of this, though, and it's quite good, so hopefully this was just a one-off bad experience.

This one is decent but I don't find it overly impressive. It is fine plain but I prefer to mix it with other flavored black teas.

It’s ok but the black tea overpower the orange flavor. @adagioteas

Like a lot of other reviewers have said, the orange flavor is subtle, but I think it's a nice balance

This is my go-to tea. If a friend wants black tea, I surprise them with this and then they are hooked. It is lovely as an iced tea.

A great morning wake me up tea, but I am a bit odd so I mix mine with Kona Pineapple to make a more tropical treat.

Woo-who! So tasty! A complex blend of black tea & full-fruit orange! Love this tea with a piece of pound cake or a shortbread cookie. Very fragrant, just the thing when an afternoon boost is what's called for.

I do like the other citrusy black teas but this one tasted very bitter for me. Luckily I had received a sample of rock sugar crystals. One or two small chips magically tamed the bitterness, and I enjoyed this tea as much as others.

Enough orange that you can taste it, but not too strong. Would be nice with spices added.
Edit - last batch I received this spring (2021) was MUCH stronger on the orange and really tasty. Blended with Kentucky Bourbon and Chocolate Chip, it makes a great sipping dessert tea.

Orange aromas flew out of the packet today. Steeping for a full 5 minutes at 212°F produced a reddish brown tea.
Ceylon black tea came forth in a bold fashion, followed by some orange zest and pith flavors.
Some moderate bitter flavors are presented from both black tea tannins and the orange peel. Bold astringency and a full-bodied mouthfeel makes this a nice morning sip when paired with breakfast. Steeping for less time might tame down some of these flavors to rein-back the bold and bitter notes. However, being busy making breakfast, I'd already missed the cue to pull the steeping basket in time. As the plain Ceylon and blended teas go from Adagio, I'm certain this one would be excellent when steeped for 3 minutes.

I was pretty underwhelmed by this blend. It was faintly orangey but a lingering bitterness prevailed.

Delicious orange smells greet me as I open the packet of communiTea today. Excited to taste this one since on occasion I like to put an orange slice in my black tea. Orange is a natural to pair with Ceylon which already has a subtle citrus feel to it anyways. When hot there are subtle orange flavors hanging out amongst the Ceylon’s malty and tangy flavors. There is a slight bitterness and dry mouth feel that you expect to have with Ceylon. I add honey and the orange flavor brightens and with the no regrets I said goodbye to the bitterness. The orange takes the Ceylon to a new level and is a pleasure to drink hot or cold. So refreshing and crisp. I was able to steep this 3 times. 2nd and 3rd steep were less bitter and the flavors blended even better. Steeped at 195º for 3.5mins. 2nd and 3rd steep for 4mins. Hope you enjoy as much as I did.

Unfortunately, when steeped for 3 minutes with boiling water, this was more bitter than many other flavored black teas from Adagio. The dry, bitter taste nearly covered the bright orange flavor that's clear in the smell. I wish I would've tried it with sugar, it would probably smooth out the flavor a bit. I wouldn't mind trying it again, but it's not something I will be purchasing a bag of.

The CommuniTea packet smelled of orange. Brewed this one around 190 to avoid the bitterness that sometimes comes with Ceylon. Had a few sips warm then stuck in the 'fridge to have chilled as an afternoon treat. I didn't experience the bitterness mentioned in many of the reviews but also didn't really taste any orange. Added a touch of sugar which brought out a hint of fruit but mostly tasted a nice, Ceylon tea.

This wasn’t bad, but having just tried the decaf orange, it left a little to be desired for me. The orange flavor in this was muted compared to the decaf. If you want caffeine, this is a decent choice. If you want orange flavor, go for the decaf!

I was really excited to coldbrew this and add vegan vanilla creamer to make a Creamsicle latte, the orange flavor is almost non existence. I wish it had a little more orange oomph to it. Not bad just my expectation was not reality.

I might have oversteeped my sample, as there was a not-unbearable-but-still-quite-blatant bitterness. From reading other reviews, it might just be the tea itself, but I didn't set a timer, so it might very well be user error.
The orange was present in the aroma, and more of an accent to the black tea, but there was a clarity on the back of my tongue that reminded me of an E.G. blend, bergamoty. I was expecting more orange, but I wasn't disappointed in what I got. I didn't have to hunt for it, even though it was very submissive to the black tea. Sugar brought out the orange a little, and cream rounded it out and mellowed the bitterness. I'd drink it again, happily, but I don't see myself buying a whole bag of it.

This tea was so bitter. I couldn't get past it and I didn't know how to fix it. I put rock sugar to try and make the orange stand out. Then I did regular sugar. Nothing made this better

This is a strong black tea with a hint of orange flavor. I tried it both hot and iced. Wish it had more orange , so I added an orange slice to bump up the flavor.

As a cold steeped iced tea, this was a light, refreshing treat. The orange is very subtle. Ceylon tea can be very bitter when hot, but when cold steeped it’s a very pleasant brew. A touch of honey would be delightful!

This one was another 'good but not great' cup of tea. The black tea base was nice, not too bitter or too strong, and the orange flavor was definitely noticeable, but not too overpowering. It was much better when it was hot than it was as it cooled or when it was room temperature. The flavors seemed to blend better and the orange was more forward when it was hot, so if I ever drink this again, I'll want to finish it while it's still warm.

This was nice but I definitely needed to add honey. It’s not quite as good black as the lemon soleil. But enjoyable!
