The orange was very subtle and I was expecting a more pronounced flavor based on the smell of the tea. It was also a bit bitter but was helped by the addition of some Tupelo honey.
Brisk tea flavored with juicy oranges. Zesty orange rind dryness, hints of soft, sweet juice. Perfectly balanced cup.

The orange was very subtle and I was expecting a more pronounced flavor based on the smell of the tea. It was also a bit bitter but was helped by the addition of some Tupelo honey.
Nicely balanced, but milder than expected -- the Ceylon dominated the tea, giving it a robust breakfast blend flavor, gently enhanced by the slight orange. The fruitiness moves forward as the tea cools, which is not ideal -- I prefer my blacks hot.
I cold brew my it was ok, orange flavor and put little sugar in it it was ok! 🫖☕️
Lovely orange scent in the packet. I drank this hot with a smidge of sugar, it had a very subtle orange flavor. No bitterness noted
I enjoyed my CommuniTEA packet iced. At first, based on the strong smell of orange, I thought I wouldn’t enjoy this. It’s actually a subtle orange flavor which paired nicely with the black tea. I steeped at 195C for 3 minutes so no bitterness noted. Happy sipping!
212 degrees for 2 minutes. A simple fresh and natural orange flavored ceylon. Nothing extraordinary about it, but sometimes simple flavors are all you need.
The orange scent and flavor were mild in the tea, but it was a bit too astringent for more taste. (3 mins @ 200°F)
I would have enjoyed just a bit more orange flavor, but overall a nice smooth tea
Orange isn't my favorite, but I really enjoyed this more than expected! Not super strong citrus, just a hint.
Tart and tangy orange juice, it hit me with nostalgia of the time I poured Sunny D in iced tea to make an orange Arnold Palmer
CommuniTEA Sample: A nice black tea that is good hot or iced. The orange could be a little bit stronger, but it was a good overall.
This was a mild flavored orange tea with a tangy Ceylon tea base that pairs well with the taste of citrus. I was hoping for a stronger orange taste but this was a gentle yet pleasant sip of black tea with a twist of orange. It was a good tea to wake up with this morning, flavorful enough without being overpowering. The orange flavor blossomed more as the tea cooled. Sweetening also helped to bring out more of the orange taste. I chilled some and it makes an easily sippable iced tea. A resteep of 6 oz. had a much weaker orange taste and was basically a cup of Ceylon tea with a whisper of orange. I also brewed 2 tsp. that had 5 larger pieces of orange peel from a sample bag of it I had on hand. The brewed tea from the sample bag had the same amount of orange flavor as the tea brewed from my CT packet.
I had 3 g/ 2 tsp of dark tea leaves with pieces of orange peel in my CT packet. The dry tea had a pleasant orange and black tea scent. I brewed carefully at 200F for just under 3 minutes (around 2:40) in a 12 oz. mug. I didn’t detect any bitterness, just some pleasant astringency that added more tanginess to the citrus finish. This tea is a mild one to enjoy on its own but would be excellent blended with another tea such as Chocolate Truffle or Blood Orange. I decided on a 5 star rating because I still wanted one more cup after finishing the first three cups. And just one more cup after that would lead to buying a bag.
I steeped this tea for 3 minutes at 212F. It had a very fresh orange flavor. It had a natural orange flavor, not a artificial flavor, which was nice. However, this tea is a little bitter. Adding sugar helped mitigate the bitterness slightly.
Orange you glad you tried this tea?
My answer would be sure, but I can't find the orange you are advertising! This just tastes like a typical black to me. I added some oat milk hoping that would draw it out, but to no avail. This is a perfectly ok sip, and maybe you will be the lucky one to find the elusive orange, my dear sipper, but this tea and me were not meant to be. Happy Sipping!
Trying along with the CommuniTEA today: Orange citrus fruit noticed from the dry ingredients and packet. Once steeped for 3 mins at 190°F, I notice candied fruit and mineral metallic notes on the nose. When I take a sip, I detect slightly bitter, sour orange notes and a subtle dry tannic ceylon tea sensation on the palate with orange rind on the finish.
While this isn't orange-in-your-face, I added a touch of cream. Then it had a mild creamsicle taste.
Lovely orange flavor when hot, but it takes a backseat to bitterness as it cools.
In theory, this sounded like a great idea, but I don't think it works for me. I love orange and I love black tea, but together, it's not my favorite.
19 June 2021 update to my previous review below: I did a 190°F steep in hopes of lowering the bitterness of the Ceylon black tea. I steeped for four minutes and added ¼ teaspoon of sugar this time to bring out the orange flavor. When warm, a mild bitterness was noted from the tea. Mild orange flavors were noted. No orange pith tastes were present. Conclusion: Very drinkable as a black tea, but not very flavorful.
19 June 2020 review: ⭐️⭐️ Nice orange aromas noted in the bag. A really eye-catching red-brown color was presented in the cup. At the start, the Ceylon was the only taste noted with very little orange aromas or tastes. Later on the orange started coming through, but was extremely weak in taste and aroma. The orange peel presents itself with a typically bitter aftertaste; better off used in spicy cooking. Overall this tea is more of a plain, but bitter black tea. (3 mins @ 200F)
Didn't enjoy the orange tea. Too bitter and dry tasting.
Not my favorite combination of ingredients in this one. The Ceylon black tea seems to come out bitter each time, no matter how I brew it. This time I used 190° water, and 3 minutes. It's also lingeringly astringent. The orange flavoring tastes a little off to me, too. It's by no means undrinkable, just not to my tastes.
This tea goes very well wit ha sweetened cream, and the orange flavor is strong without being overpowering. A VERY good cup of tea, one I might order more of in the future.
The tea had a beautiful orange smell when I opened up the packet. steeped the tea for a shorter time than suggested. It had a really bitter taste. Tried it cool and experience the same bitterness. One of the very few tea I have tried at CommuniTea that is not satisfying to my palate. It probably would be much better with sweetener, but I like my tea as is.
I love how the orange taste in this tea is subtle and not overpowering. It doesn't overpower the black tea or taste fake. This is a great basic black tea with just a lovely hint and aroma of orange. on second steep, I popped in a thin slice of fresh lemon to make the fruit essence pop - very nice! 212F, 3 minutes.
I like orange teas, but when it's a black tea I want milk and honey, but sadly the milk curdles every time I try to add it.
That said, this is a nicely balanced tea, where the orange is strong but doesn't overpower the black tea. I still want a sweetener like honey to soften the sharp edges of an astringent tea with an astringent fruit added, but after adding honey it has a nice round flavor.
All in all, this makes for a tasty cuppa!
The tea has a lovely aroma in the bag. However, it brews quite bitter even with sugar.
I’m not a fan of orange 🍊 tea. It just doesn’t taste good to me. Just my personal preference.
Mehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. That about sums up today's CommuniTea sample.
Great tea!
I tried a sip of this as a hot tea but then I turned it into a sweet tea. It make a tea-rific sweet tea!!
Great flavor, love the simple pairing of black tea and citrus
This is a decent black tea. I just wish the orange was much stronger. It's more of an aftertaste for me than a true flavor.
Love the aroma and taste of this Orange tea. I recommend this one for anyone loving oranges.
There is a orange and black tea scent prior to steeping; not strong but noticeable. This is a very subtle and mild flavored orange tea. It is not bitter nor sweet. I think this would be a good tea to have when enjoying a sweet treat. Overall, this is a good tea blend.
I like orange tea but this one seems just lacks the robust orange flavor I normally expect.
nice orange aroma but lacks in strong orange flavor. The pot had better flavor the next morning but who wants to drink nasty old tea to have the added flavor
This tea is a great balance of flavors! The black tea is robust and flavorful, and the orange is definitely noticeable. I like strong black teas, so sometimes I'll give this one a long steep. It can handle it because the citrus takes the edge off the usual bitterness of a long-steeped black tea, and the fullness of the orange flavor comes out.
I do like this tea, very much, but I found it lacking something. I think I prefer my orange teas to have a hint of spice to them, which this doesn t have. Good base for a blend, though.
Simple flavored black tea. Orange flavor is clear, but understandably doesn’t stay much after the initial steep. Good option for when you want a simple flavored black tea.
Absolutely delicious, one of my favorite teas. Will buy again.
Smooth orange flavor- This is getting added into my regular rotation!
I love orange tea so I was really expecting to like this a lot but, unfortunately, the orange flavor want very prevalent. Probably has something to do with the fact that there were only about 3 small pieces of orange peel in my sample pack.
My daily go-to infused black tea. The citrus notes are vibrant and delicious.
I really like this tea. It reminds me of the Constant Comment I always had as a child at my Dad's house. It has a lovely Orange hint to the black tea. Very smooth.
Amazing taste. good cold or hot. is reminiscent of a earl grey but more citrus. Prefect morning cup
Love the great orange flavor with this tea. Nice balance to it and not over powerful with the orange.
Good but very strong! I will try using less and see
Great orange flavor without the typical spices that come along with it in teas (I'm not a fan of clove/cinnamon). This is very good to mix about 60-40 with the Chocolate Truffle tea for a delicious orange-chocolate combo.
Another of my favorite morning teas! I mix this quite frequently with the Blood Orange herbal tea to kick the orange flavor up a notch higher, even though the tea is quite tasty as is! I just love the added punch of the two teas mixed together.
When you open up the bag of this it just screams Pow! I'm an orange! The flavor comes out more with some honey or sweetener of choice. Great hot or iced!
