I had a bitter aftertaste with today's tea. The orange was subtle. Overall, I didn't enjoy it.

I quite liked today's CT caffeinated black, orange tea! I carefully steeped per recommendations and added a pinch of Florida crystal sugar. The sugar brought forth the orange hue notes and made for a bright cuppa! 🌞🍊🧡

UPDATE 4-13-23: Orange is once again our CommuniTEA tea of the day. This time I just added orange peels and bamboo honey and the bamboo honey really sold it for me! I actually enjoyed this tea hot for the 1st time with minimal additions. As a result, I have further upped my rating to 3 stars and would now recommend this tea!

UPDATE 8-8-22: Today's CommuniTEA is Orange (flavored black tea). I previously rated this tea 1 star, but have since upgraded it to 2. Today, I had a decent sample in my packet and I added some orange peels and black tea honey and then iced it. It is much better iced than hot, but still does not have a great flavor. I have tried this tea other ways as well, such as with cocoa nibs and rock sugar, and that was a definite no-go. You can dress this tea up with a bunch of other flavors to hide the original flavor, such as by adding butterfly pea flowers, hibiscus, rose petals, and black tea honey, but it's only okay to me. I think the best way I've had it is covering it up with mango, orange peels, strawberry, raspberry leaves, and black tea honey. I have, however, used this tea in blends and it goes great with some other flavors. Unfortunately, by itself, it just doesn't quite do it for me. I still don't think I would recommend this tea, unfortunately.

ORIGINAL: I would not recommend the Orange tea at all. I added some extra orange peels to it, just a pinch of valerian, and plenty of fruit tisanes honey. Despite this, it was BITTER. Unbearably bitter. I do not think I will be buying this one again.

I really enjoyed this. The orange flavor was noticable and the black tea blended well with the flavor.

I enjoyed the scent when I opened the packet. I found this to be strong, too bitter, and lacking in orange flavor.

In the bag: Mainly the short, brittle, twisted leaves of black tea. A few sizable hunks of dried orange rind.

On the nose (pre-steep): Smells like the bright zing of fresh orange zest. Medium intensity.

On the nose (post-steep): Steeping washed washed away almost all of the orange aroma. The remaining citrus is complemented by unsweetened chocolate.

On the tongue: Similar to the post-steep scent. A hint of orange zest joins dry cocoa. Weak overall.

Opinion: A ho hum tea that does not live up to its potential. The flavor is too weak to enjoy - it's as if I'm drinking water. The little orange I do get is pleasant, though.

Preparation: First steep 3 min, second steep 6 min. Both @ 195 ℉. ½ teaspoon monk fruit sweetener.

It's kind of bland as a hot tea, I'm not going to lie. The packet that the aroma of orange pith, rather than orange zest, so I was a little concerned from the start. Then upon steeping, it just seems to have used up all its mojo. Even as it cools, I don't notice much orange smell or flavour. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice Ceylon and all, but if you're coming for the orange, it leaves something to be desired.

I'd drink this again, the orange wasn't super sour or overly 'rind-y.' I also think it'd be a good base for other blends.

Wyjatkowy smak. pobudza organizm niemal tak dobrze jak kawa. Skutecznie przeciwdziała zmęczeniu, orzeźwia i wprowadza w dobry nastrój

I confess I haven't had this tea alone. I mix it with some earl grey. The smell of the orange is very pleasant and it adds a nice citrus taste to whatever I mix it with.

★★★☆☆

The orange falls flat in this one a bit. There is also a bitter undertone. Meh.

Give it 5 stars very good tea, I would highly recommend for any orange lovers.

I've decided I am not a fruit tea drinker but please give orange a try. The flavor is deep and a slight bit of sweetener enhances the flavor.

The orange flavor is quite mild, but that's just fine. I thoroughly enjoyed this tea.

Not bad at all. I like the subtle orange flavor, but it definitely isn't a tea I would drink a ton.

I'm actually surprised. On a lark, I decided to purchase this orange tea. I've had many different brands of orange tea (not mixed with other ingredients) and I haven't liked any of them (I won't name them). The taste of this tea is excellent, overall. The rating I put on my tea rating excel file is 9.6 out of 10.0, and my comment about the tea is 'It's good overall'

The flavor is great alone, but use this in my 'crazy teas', where I mix many flavors together to find that perfect mix.

★★★☆☆

The communiTEA packet smelled orange enough but I know how these things go, especially with a Ceylon base. I added a few Selefina orange peel bits to help this along. Using 12oz of 194F water for a little more than 3min it still seemed oversteeped though certain flavored Ceylon teas are simply prone to excess bitterness. Even with sweetener I couldn’t strike the proper balance desired but it was a perfectly okay drinkable cup with some orange taste. For the effort involved I might have preferred the more flavorful and smooth decaf version.

Black teas are usually not my favorite, but this one was pretty good with cream and sugar and it wasn't bitter at all. It is so hard to find a good juicy orange flavored tea without it tasting like a glass of watered down orange juice. Great blend Adagio!

Zesty orange flavor pairs well with the slightly bitter Ceylon. I like the orange peel accent and that it's not overly tangy and fruity. But if someone wants the acidity, I can see a squeeze of lemon working well with this.

A lovely black tea with mild citrusy orange flavor. I steeped at 195°F x 3 minutes and drank it hot and unsweetened. No bitterness noted. Makes a great morning cup of tea. The citrus flavor was lost when resteeped. I think iced with a little honey would be a refreshing afternoon pick-me-up.

Easily over-steeped, I babysat this one and watched the leaves fall after about a minute, strained it right then and there and it was tasty! Strong enough with some good orange flavor, this is what I expect from a black tea with orange. Good stuff!

Cold brewing in the fridge is the way to go with this one. That avoids any bitterness and the orange flavoring comes through nicely. I added 1/4 tsp monk fruit sweetener.

Simple, black tea with a hint of orange flavor. Adding sweetener and letting it cool helps bring out the flavor more.

I was a little disappointed by this tea. The scent when I opened my CommuniTEA packet promised ORANGE, but the flavor of orange was a mere whisper. It is possible that my packet did not have the correct balance of tea and citrus. However, based on this sample, I'm not in a hurry to buy more of it. Sorry!

Updated 8/8/22 - This is much better cold brewed. There still isn't a lot of orange flavor, but cold brewing does bring out more of the flavor.

While this was a nice black tea, the orange was subtle to the point of being absent. I didn’t detect the bitterness a lot of other reviews referenced, but I also didn’t find anything that made this blend stand out above so many other orange choices either.

I cold-brewed this tea and was expecting more of an orange taste but I was disappointed. It mainly just tasted like a plain tea but didn’t have the bitterness I often notice in black teas. I might still add some dried lemon peels and see if that helps.

It's a fine tea, but if you're looking for something with a stronger orange flavour [or really any sort of that citrus orange tang to it], this tea falls a bit short. It's there, but delicate.

Opening the package you get the appetizing strong orange scent. Upon brewing, the cup has a little bit of a bitter taste that cannot be separated from the orange flavor. I wouldn't drink this plain, and If I indulged in it at all I would definitely have a chocolate snack alongside it. It greatly improves the experience.

I love citrus in tea. To keep the astringency down I cold brewed. The flavor was pretty light last year so this time I added some fresh orange slices to my steep. Very refreshing on this hot summer day.

I'm a big fan of orange. This tea has a vibrant, fresh orange flavor. Brewed hot the black tea was slightly bitter but cold brewing took away all traces of bitterness leaving only a rich, refreshing, citrice.

I like this one, I just like a lot of the other flavored teas better. The orange flavor is very light when you drink it straight, but if you add a little cream and sugar it comes out more for me and gets a bit of an orange creamsicle taste that is amusing. Good for once in a while

This has a wonderful pure orange smell but the orange flavor is much weaker than I would prefer. I added a little vanilla syrup for a Creamsicle vibe and it was really good, just needs a bit more orange.

This is not a bad plain tea but mine had very little to no actual orange flavor. The aroma from the packet teased of orange to come but the brew did not deliver. 12 oz 3.25g for 3 minutes at 212.

Suprisingly delicate on the palate. More aromatic to the senses with the orange than in the flavor. Wanted to give this a 5-star rating if only the fruit flavor rang out a little more.

UPDATED from 6/19/22: A lovely black tea with a slight hint of orange, which gives it a special tweak at the end. Smell of oranges when the CommuniTEA packet opens. It steeps (at a slightly lower temp to avoid bitterness) into a bold red amber color. Nice black tea with a subtle orange flavor. Adding sweetener (¼ teaspoon to 10 oz) helps reduce the bitterness that still exists. Adding cream really smooths this and allows its creaminess to make this delightful. It even tastes good as it cools. Would be a nice summer addition to my tea stash if it weren’t so high in caffeine. ( 3 mins @ 200ºF + sweetener and cream).

The aroma from the pouch was a bit concerning at first as it smelled of artificial orange candy or orange drink (Hi-C came to mind.), but fortunately, this tea steeps into a much more enjoyable brew. Whereas the decaf version reminded me of hot orange juice, this one is more tea-forward with the orange flavor adding a kiss of citrusy brightness on the back. It plays well with Ceylon's natural brightness and a touch of sweetener (honey, in my case) highlights the orange without making it too sweet. A second steep is more orangey as the strength of the Ceylon has given out, but still, this tea makes a delightful accompaniment to one's breakfast. (3-4 minutes @ 212F)

I’m not a fan of this tea but I will say that with a little honey and time to cool down it becomes a nicer, slightly orange-flavored black tea. I think I prefer to have orange flavors mixed with some chai spices in my tea. I steeped this at 190 degrees for 3 minutes.
