This one sounded lovely but it just sort of fell flat at my house. We finished the package but haven't ordered it again. There were a few times I enjoyed it. So for me, the brew needed to be super specific and a picky tea is not what I need on a busy morning.
★★★★★
Absolutely delicious. It doesn't remind me of drinking bourbon but it brings up the vibes of the lovely scent notes and vibrant attitude of a good bourbon. The fragrance is relaxing and refreshing, and the tea would make a great summer iced tea whether you like bourbon or not!

I ordered this before I knew what Lapsang Souchong tea was like so I was in for quite the surprise. The smokey taste is very present, but thankfully not too overpowering, especially with the sweetness lent by the other ingredients. It was not what I was looking for but I could see where others might enjoy this brew.

If you like bourbon this is the tea for you. Not only does it smell like Bourbon but definitely has the taste too. Would not recommend as a morning tea.

I liked this one at first but kind of got burned out on it.

I like this tea but thought it could be a fuller flavor. I added a few drops (not even a 1/2 t.) of Salted Caramel Crown Royal which also added a touch of sweetness to it. That was a knock out!

This was so different. I actually enjoyed the cup a lot. I'm not into Smokey teas but this combo really worked. and It really felt as I was drink Bourbon
★★★★★
Has a nice smoky taste, I use it to make iced mocktails.
★★★★★
It was great-the only thing that's missing is alcohol!

A little too... I don't want to say bold, but that's really the only word that comes to mind, for me. The first sip is good! Don't get me wrong, but I just couldn't make it through a whole cup. Just a little too savory for me, I guess.
★★★★★
Really enjoy what I call a complex flavor profile. Lots to savor as you sip on a cup.

Okay, after my second order of this stuff, I have to admit...it’s now my favorite tea. It tastes more like caramel than bourbon but who cares, it’s still a great flavor! I brew it at 212 for 4 minutes and sweeten it with brown sugar...fantastic!

This was unlike other teas I’ve tried, and mostly in a good way. It is very reminiscent of bourbon, so you’ve got to be in the mood for that.

Somewhat disappointed by this tea. It has a smell that reminds me of raisins and though I can smell the bourbon for a moment, I have to say that the flavor isn't really there. It's by no means bad, but don't expect this to satisfy a bourbon craving.

Right out of the cup you get hit with a lot of warm vanilla and a rich woodsy, lightly smokey base note. The 'candy apple' flavoring reveals itself on the finish and is a little too present in my opinion. It adds a sweetness but also a slight 'twang' at the end. I also pick up on a hint of flavored tobacco (think of those cheap cigarillos). Overall its quite nice and on first whiff I was blown away how strongly scented it was though it is a bit heavy on the added 'natural' flavorings

Surprisingly flavorful, overtones of herbal mixed with black tea. Really does have hints of bourbon (and so a little bit smoky). Very nice black tea in the middle of a wintery day.

I really wanted to love this tea, but the smokiness is overpowering. It smells and tastes strongly of smoke. The strainer that I used to brew this tea had a smoky scent on it that took multiple washes to fully remove!

Surprisingly satisfying cup of black tea. I drink it straight, though at a minute less time.

Love, Love, Love it!!! Just the right balance of whiskey flavor, vanilla and malt. My favorite so far.

I thought this was a bit harsh tasting, a little chemically and too smoky. Apple was the prominent flavor.

I really wanted to like this, but I can't get past the artificial smell and taste of the caramel apple flavoring. Living in bourbon country apple is not something I associate that strongly with bourbon.

Delicious as either a hot or cold tea, this Kentucky Bourbon is a wonderful treat! The smooth smokey sweetness blends well with the malty goodness that nods to a true Kentucky bourbon.

A fun treat! Worth sampling just to try it-- delicious flavors, would be perfect for bourbon mocktails!

It was ok a little to much smoke flavor for me but the hubby loves it.

This tea is new to me and my family and I are glad we tried it. Yes, it has bourbon influence, but it s not overwhelming. There is a hint of sweetness to the tea, but a touch of hooney or brown sugar brings out the intended flavor. We particularly enjoy it afternoon for a pick-me-up. No, there is no alcohol in it, just the best of the flavor intended. I highly recommend this tea!

I hated this tea but I'm also not a bourbon fan. My husband loves good bourbon and was not a fan of this tea.

Definitely has the same sweetness note of a good bourbon. Not my style, but still a good tea, especially if you like bourbon.

Definitely not for everyone!! I bought this as a gift for a friend who loves bourbon and all things smokey. She loved it. All I can say for my own self though... it definitely tastes like bourbon!!

I don't drink, but this was a surprise hit in my household. I normally drink tea straight, but this is the only tea besides masala chai that I add sugar to. The sugar brings out the cocoa nib, flavoring, and lapsang souchong. This was purchased to enjoy for New Years (yes, I think ahead plus this year deserves a one star review. Bring on 2021!). I want to thank all the Kentuckians and bourbon drinkers for posting the honest reviews of this tea. You know who you are. I never thought I would buy a full bag!

I did not like this tea until I added honey, then I loved it; seriously, I was amazed at how complex and good the flavors are with a little honey added!
★★★★★
A complex blend of flavors - like a good bourbon would have. The smokiness from the lapsang souchong is prominent - with some subtle sweetness at the end from the apple and vanilla.

Didn’t love this one. The flavor was a little oak-y.

This is one of my husbands favorite teas! He will drink it after dinner when the rest of us are enjoying a cup of Bella Luna. Well suite for the tea drinker that likes a bit of caramel notes with a hint of smoke in their cup. As with all teas, each person will be able to taste something different...I can taste the vanilla while my husband can't :) We will definitely buy this again as he enjoys it so much.

It smelled wonderful, the aroma was amazing. Thought it would be great but it just tasted like any black tea. Slightly disappointed with the flavor. Wish it was better.

It definitely tastes like bourbon to me - a fun drink if you want to start your day interesting or it's 'one of those days'. I drink it with milk and sugar and somehow very bourbon-y still!

Very prevalent smoke flavor. I added milk to tone it down a bit and that helped. I didn't get much whiskey/bourbon flavor out of the tea, I may try mixing with vanilla tea to bring that out more.

Love this tea, it smells exactly like bourbon and tastes delicious.

Love how visually texture to the tea. When you first open it, really creamy and sweet smell. I'm not a fan of caramel taste in my tea and was a little concerned at how much of a caramel smell there was (which was great, i love the scent!) but there wasn't a strong caramel taste. I really like how different the taste and smell is. Overall, lots of layers to the tea which I love.

So, can I just sing the praised of Bourbon Tea? No Alcohol just Tea. Black tea, high caffeine with hints of malt, soft barrel smoke, caramel, roasted apple, and vanilla. It is slowly becoming my replacement for Diet Coke. And it smells/tastes exactly like bourbon without the alcohol.

My first cup was a disaster: I had to handle an emergency and oversteeped this by 15 minutes and the resulting cup was very smoky and bitter. My second cup was much better, with whiskey notes and none of the bitterness of the first cup with a smoky finish. This tea may help keep me from drinking an actual Kentucky bourbon, especially during working hours.

A touch of maple. More than a hint of smoke. Plenty of oaken woodsy scent that mellows in the cup. I can t say this tea is a substitute for a good glass of bourbon, but it is good reminder in the morning that, if I have a productive day, I can enjoy some Bourbon in the evening.

Not good. This is a very strange tea. The burbon flavor seems very out of place here.

Smells really good, but light in flavor.
First time steeping did my usual 3.5g per 12oz, and it came out light.
Tried again with 4.5g, and was a little better, but for me I think the sweet spot is about 5g per 12oz.

Pre steep it smells like wonderful bourbon, but as it steeps, it becomes more subtle of a taste and lends to a complex black cup of tea

Very strong, and tastes and smells exactly what it was trying to replicate. I'm normally not heavily interested in this type but I can see why someone would enjoy this kind of tea
