Pure hazelnut aromas wafting from the bag. Nothing but hazelnut—beautiful hazelnut—steeped in my cup.

Simple, straightforward and accurate to it's name. Prominent black to baise, rich and easily distinguishable roasted hazelnut flavor. It's exactly what I was expecting.

I love hazelnut tea. This is a good one - a little bitter/astringent, but still enjoyable. Just needed a little more sweetener than I normally use.

wonderfully hazelnutty with a slight bitterness from the Ceylon (brew at a lower temp if you wish to avoid the bitterness). some astringency. this tea is best when hot, which helps the hazelnut aromas waft to your nose. it's very tasty on it's own, but also delicious sweetened, and adding milk gives it a creaminess that compliments the hazelnut and balances the Ceylon. makes a great latte. This tea is sweet and nutty with a nice creamy texture. And brewing at the lower temp meant no bitterness.
I would liken it to a sweetened hazelnut cream that can appear with desserts. (195F for 3min)

Clearly I am in the minority here, but I just do not care for hazelnut flavored teas or coffees. I usually drink my tea with nothing added. However, the Hazelnut tea was improved when I put in a bit of almond and coconut creamer and Chocolate Whipped Honey. I do like some blends that have Hazelnut in them. So middle of the road for me on this one. I brewed it at 195 for three minutes.

Love hazelnut and this tea has really great hazelnut flavor. What a treat. This tea works really well blended with other teas to add a roasty toasty rich flavor. Really yummy.

In the bag: Just the black tea. Short, thin, brittle black leaves. A little breakdown occurred during transit.

On the nose (pre-steep): Pure hazelnut. As others have mentioned, it's not the overly sweet hazelnut that you might find in a dessert, but the raw, unprocessed scent of the nut. No hints of the black tea beneath.

On the nose (post-steep): More hazelnut, though this scent is softer and creamer than pre-steep. No black tea notes. Medium intensity.

On the tongue (pre-sweetener): The black tea flavor has come to the front to gently blend with the hazelnut. I'm getting hazelnut and vanilla with a slightly buttery mouthfeel. Medium intensity. A slight bitterness, even though I only steeped it at 195.

On the tongue (post-sweetener): No change from pre-sweetener.

Opinion: An excellent tea. I'm a fan of both hazelnut and of flavored blacks, so this one is a no-brainer for me. Not very complex - I would put this in the casual sipping category. Steep at 190 or less to avoid bitterness.

Preparation: 3 min @ 195 ℉, ½ tsp monk fruit sweetener

UPDATED from 9/23/21: The aroma of the CommuniTEA packet is totally hazelnut. It steeps (at a lower temp to avoid the bitterness) into a deep amber. I am not a fan of filberts (hazelnut) in general, but this tea has such a lovely, strong nutty flavor that it has won me over. Adding ¼ teaspoon of brown stevia sweetener and some heavy whipping cream (to 12 oz) smooths out the rough edges. The second brew is as strong as the first, and after adding the sweetener and cream, I pour it over ice. It is delicious - and I am enjoying this even more. I am glad someone recommended the brown sugar, as that really helps. Great strong tea! So glad I am a part of CommuniTEA, because I would not have tried this tea on my own, which would have been my loss. High caffeine is the only negative. (3 mins @ 200ºF + sweetener and cream).

My shipment from April 2022 is being returned to Adagio. Sadly, this batch was weak and had no aroma or flavor of hazelnut. This has been my favorite tea for four years for a foggy morning in the Bay Area, but I will now look elsewhere.

I like Hazelnut in some blends, but I find the flavor too intense to drink the tea on its own; there can also be a bitterness sometimes. I think I will make a blend that dilutes the tea with Ceylon Sonata a tad. Nonetheless, the taste of real hazelnuts is accurately represented.

nice full flavor. doesn't need sweetener at all. My go to flavored tea.
I mixed this with Scottish Breakfast Tea and the combination is great.

This tea missed the mark for me. It has a strong flavor of _raw_ hazelnuts, in my mouth. I was expecting a toastier flavor, but instead it reminded me very much of the taste of hazelnut shells. The same was true of the aroma. I'm sure a die-hard hazelnut fan would not be turned off by this, but to me, it was unappetizing

This is one of those black teas that I consider 'coffee adjacent.' The scent and depth of flavor makes me think of the hazelnut coffee my Mom was so fond of. I will be ordering more of this.

Wasn't super nice, didn't really taste much like hazelnuts. It was okay but it almost tasted like cheese of all things, was very odd. (Cold brewed for 10 hours)

Delicious tea! The hazelnut is warm and comforting, and not overpowering. It’s a great hot cup of tea. It’s tasty on its own, or mixed, especially with chocolate and/or cream tea!

Love this tea. It has a nice aroma that is nutty without being artificial-smelling. It steeps nicely without astringency. It is an excellent tea for any time of the day. I particularly enjoy blending it with vanilla tea or chocolate nibs when I’m feeling like something different.

So fragrant that the scent fills up the room! I made it with a little cream and sugar, though in the future I may forgo the sugar as I don't think it really needs it. This could easily take the place of my usual hot cocoa on cold mornings!
