Too strong of a grapefruit flavor...It overwhelms the black tea too much for my liking.
A wake-up call to the senses! Invigorating grapefruit flavor with tangy, citrusy Ceylon black tea.

Too strong of a grapefruit flavor...It overwhelms the black tea too much for my liking.
Such a wonderful combination of tea and grapefruit! It's refreshing even hot.
First tried this through the CommuniTea and loved it, less grapefruit flavor in the sample size though. Possibly a proportion variance? Still quite good though.
I like the grapefruit flavor but I think the black tea is overpowering. I prefer the grapefruit oolong way more
Such a fresh and invigorating taste. My current moring favorite
This is one of my favorites. You smell the grapefruit when you open the package. The flavor is strong but in a very good way. I really enjoy this tea even on a hot summer morning. It's great for breakfast.
Excellent grapefruit flavor with a perfectly balanced black tea
This tea is flavorful and brilliant; I enjoy it as a break from my usual (Earl Grey). Although not as subtle as the EG, it's a lovely change of pace.
Grapefruit was one of my early favorites at Adagio-- a fabulous breakfast tea. Even though it is citrus, I like it with milk.
Not as 'citrusy' as I expected but still a good morning flavor
Hands down the best flavored tea! The grapefruit pairs wonderfully with the tea to make a flavorful and delicious tea.
Smelled like grapefruit, but the flavor just didn’t come through.
This is refreshing but I am disappointed, hardly any flavor
It was okay I guess. Not incredibly 'grapefruity.' I wouldn't say it wasn't grapefruity at all, but it was much more a black tea than anything else. I guess I was hoping it would be more refreshing, but it wasn't. I am going to try it with some sugar next time and see if it's any better, but so far not impressed.
I don’t generally like the flavor of grapefruit but this was included in one of the daily teas and I was so pleasantly surprised I had to order more.
I love this one! The grapefruit flavor could go wrong but here it doesn't. Maybe because it's natural and not artificial. It's interesting that the aroma lingers. Like aromatherapy! Definitely one of my favorites.
My favorite of the flavored black teas, this had just the right amount of citrus flavor. Works as a fantastic base for blending. Try with a bit of cinnamon!
The aroma out of the bag and while brewing is much stronger than the flavor. But, the flavor is bright and clean. Wonderful with the rock sugar crystals!
I love grapefruit and I love this tea. I didn’t know if it would be good or not, but it is a solid hit. It’s not a complex tea, it doesn’t need to be. It’s grapefruit!
“ Very nice, bright, and clean grapefruit aromas were noted right out of the bag. The amount of grapefruit tastes were not overpowering with the orange making a nice touch. The Ceylon was smooth and added just the right amount of black tea flavors. No strong or bitter aftertastes were noted. This a very pleasant and drinkable tea from start to finish. Also makes for a nice and refreshing iced tea. 1/4 tsp sugar added.”
Great grapefruit aroma! Nice subtle grapefruit flavor.
I absolutely LOVE this tea! The aroma is amazing and energizing! I look forward to opening the bag in the morning. The flavor is wonderful with just a hint of fruit balancing the black tea. If you like grapefruit, this tea is for you!
Good, has a sour and bitter combo from the grapefruit. This has a white grapefruit flavor- not toward the pink/ruby side which I prefer. However, it would be good if that is the flavor profile you are looking for!
A nice, tart tea. I didn't find it to be too bitter at all.
When I opened the bag and took a sniff, I immediately thought of visiting my grandma. When I was little, she often ate grapefruit, and the aroma is so true to the fruit, I couldn’t help but picture her at her kitchen table. The flavor is more subdued, blending well with the black Ceylon tea. I drank it iced without sweetener and it was delicious! Very smooth and refreshing with a pleasant, fruity flavor.
I really loved this blend. The grapefruit provided a citrusy base without making the tea excessively sour.
Smells like the grapefruit Life Savers candy I had as a kid. The steeped tea is delicious iced. Strong flavor!
Strong grapefruit scent in the bag, nice flavor brewed, I used sugar.
This tea smells amazing, I just wanted to keep the envelope with the tea in it just to smell! It does have grapefruit flavor in just the right amount. Definitely on my favorites list!
This tea smells and tastes like medicine. I did not like it at all.
When I opened the sachet and smelled this blend, I actually thought 'No, it's too early for grapefruit.' Weird, I know, since lots of people eat it as breakfast food. I think I just wanted to be in the right mood for a zesty pick-me-up, because that's exactly what this gives you! I see a few reviews saying there was no grapefruit taste after brewing, but I definitely did not find that to be the case. This has a distinctive and robust grapefruit flavor, which is actually fantastic against the sometimes bitter of a black tea base. The grapefruit stands up to the tea, without overpowering it. A tad of sugar brings it all together.
I love this tea. It's crisp and refreshing. We drink Grapefruit Oolong all the time, iced. I'm not sure which I like better, but if you like grapefruit, give this one a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
I'm generally not a grapefruit fan, but the flavor was toned down enough that it was nice.
I love grapefruit, so this was right up my alley. The tea itself is mild, the grapefruit aroma is nice, but the total experience was lacking. It needs to be stronger.
Strong flavor but a little bitter! Would taste great iced with a little sugar
The smell is wonderful until brewed. Once brewed, there’s no remaining grapefruit smell or taste. Might as well drink caffeinated hot water.
A splash of bitterness from the grapefruit makes it a nice tea to wake up to.
Smells great!
This one is definitely not for me. But if you are a fan of grapefruit (which I’m not), this one’s for you!
No. If you like Grapefruit I am going to guess you really like this. I don’t, for me it was more than awful. It is one of few I could not drink.
Not a bad tea; definitely with a “juicy” feel to it, though the flavor is a bit too tangy for me.
Smells fabulous. Delightfully citrusy and rather juicy.
I LOVED this tea. I tend to give five stars to a lot of the teas I try through CommuniTEA, because I think they're delicious and interesting-- but I wouldn't necessarily drink them everyday. THIS tea is one I could drink all day everyday, hot or iced. The grapefruit just goes really well with the ceylon, as others have noted. I add honey to grapefruit the fruit, so I added honey to the tea, which was a nice combo. Brewed it slightly, at about 180/190, for 4 mins, and got a great second brew, too. Definitely will buy more!!
Love this tea both on it's own and to add a bright pop of flavor to any blend. Tasty both hot and iced, flavorful but not overpowering, overall just a great tea!
The grapefruit flavor in this black tea is so bright, floral, and crisp that it would make anyone sit up and take another sip. The astringency of the Ceylon tea benefits the overall experience, complementing the citrus notes in a way it doesn't do as well with other types of fruit flavors. I don't normally take my tea unsweetened, but this cup truly doesn't need anything to enhance or balance the flavor.
This tea is delicious. It's incredibly pleasant and it tastes exactly how you would expect grapefruit tea to taste.
This is one of those adagio flavors that smells wonderful and it tastes really good. Bright and citrusy flavor to combined well with this black tea. Not too strong grapefruit flavor, but enough that it's present and very pleasant. I like the touch of zing to this black tea.
I absolutely love grapefruit, but this leaves something to be desired. It would probably be better steeped for only two minutes, as another reviewer said, to allow the grapefruit to not be overwhelmed by the black tea. This makes me wish Adagio had a ruby red grapefruit herbal--I bet it would be stellar.
I brewed it for 2 minutes to get less bitter black tea flavor, and it also allowed the grapefruit flavor to shine!
This isn't one of my favorites. I love grapefruit and the taste comes through but doesn't have an all around satisfying taste for me.
This tea has a very charming grapefruit scent! The taste is mainly a bright black tea with citrus undertones - nowhere near as overwhelmingly grapefruit as the scent implies - and a very nice basic tea to start the day with.
