i was a little scared when i smelled the strong grapefruit scent but when brewed it wasn't too potent and blended well. Loved the orange accent complimented the tea well as well. Good to see a creative use of grapefruit flavor as there aren't that many

If you love grapefruit and black tea you'll love this tea. It is 2 of my favorite things mixed up and highly caffinated.

Today's packet hit me right off the bat with its namesake. The grapefruit flavor is almost overwhelming, and even for a black tea it's particularly bitter. I needed plenty of sweetener to make it drinkable. It was better iced, but still not something I'm a fan of. If you like grapefruit, you'll love this tea, but it wasn't for me.

A wonderful cup of tea! It has a fantastic grapefruit smell right out the packet. The flavor is light and refreshing.

Do not like grapefruit at all. This tea tastes like the experience of getting grapefruit juice in a cut.

Drinking along with the CommuniTEA today: Lots of citrusy grapefruit-y scents wafting from my packet and dry ingredients today. Once steeped for 3 mins at 190°F, I notice more subtle grapefruit notes with honey black tea tones from my cup. The two balance each other nicely.

This tea packs a citrusy, grapefruit punch that was very pleasant this morning. It was a bit too sour plain, but with a bit of sugar all of the flavors played nicely together. (3 mins @ 200°F)

Because of my medication I can't drink this tea. No one else in my house is a tea drinker but my mom. She doesn't like this combination. Said that all she tasted was the black tea and that it needed sugar

212 degrees for 3 minutes. What a delightful tea!! The dry leaves smell just like grapefruit, and the brew itself is crisp, bright, juicy and perfect for a summer day. The grapefruit flavor really shines through and I like that its not overly tart or sour. I would have never thought that a grapefruit flavored tea would work, but it does!

The first sip is a little underwhelming while the tea is still hot. However, this tea delivers on the aftertaste, especially once it reaches the “warm” vs “scalding” stage. The grapefruit picks up nicely on the swallow rather than the intake. A little bit of sweetener (1/4 tsp stevia), provided just enough kick to amplify the profile. For those that like cold tea, I can see this potentially being a great iced sweet tea!

This is a straightforward tea that's pretty yum to me! I love all things acidic, so grapefruit is a good friend. It's nice plain but I added some orange blossom honey and I think that is the ideal preparation. This is a traditional cup with just a touch of sunshine added. Happy Sipping!

This tea definitely tastes like grapefruit, complete with a sour/bitter undertone that I didn’t care for. Grapefruit lovers will probably enjoy it.

When I opened the packet, the aroma of grapefruit was really strong. After I steeped for 3 minutes at 189, I added a drizzle of honey. The blend of grapefruit and orange was brought out and made this tea a very tasty sip.

I love grapefruit and i love this tea! I was surprised -- i thought it would taste like the bitter rind but instead it is just like grapefruit!

If you love grapefruit then this is the tea for you. The smell hits you in the face, but the taste is a little more subtle. I haven’t had this iced yet, but I love it hot.

I generally do not like grapefruit unless very sweetened and this tea was no exception. I did steep at a lower temp (195 F) x 3 min and added a lot of honey but nothing could save it for me. If you enjoy grapefruit this is probably awesome for you.

I love Ceylon teas, but am not a fan of grapefruit. It has a tangy, grapefruit aroma and pretty marigold flowers in it. If you like grapefruit, I am pretty sure you will enjoy this tea.

This tea has a beautiful aroma of grapefruit and just the right amount of grapefruit flavor. Brewed at a slightly lower temperature, the tea was very flavorful, but not bitter with just enough astringency to match the grapefruit.

I have never enjoyed eating grapefruit. When opening the communiTea packet there was a clear grapefruit aroma. Upon brewing - when I try to distance myself from the fact I don't like grapefruit - it is a very refreshing, has a full flavor and mimics the taste of grapefruit very well. If you like grapefruit you will love this tea, if like me grapefruit is not your thing you can skip it.

I’m not a huge fan of grapefruit, the smell is a bit off putting for me; the tea isn’t bad, but it’s not one I’d seek out.

Ode to the grapefruit

Such a unique fruit, it is true
One of a kind, through and through
Some may say, 'an orange', but you are not the same
Though you share the citrus surname.

Imagine the surprise the very first bite
Thinking to themselves, 'this doesn't taste right'
No worries, dear fruit, you are loved by many,
And on you they will spend many a penny.

So let the memories be fond
As we slowly sip along
Thinking of grapefruit
Without whom, this tea would be kapoot.
(not a haiku review...but an ode review!)

Grapefruit tea? No thank you. Didn't enjoy anything about this.

This is a really delightful blend of tea. The scent is very grapefruitty and the tea itself is a bit sour, but nothing like biting into an actual grapefruit. While good with sugar it's not too sour to enjoy on it's own.

This was a very simple and enjoyable grapefruit flavored tea. I found it tangy, refreshing and fog clearing. Some fruits pair naturally like cranberry and apple and banana and strawberry. In this zesty tea, grapefruit and orange are a great citrus team and the Ceylon tea base gives this fruity duo some heft and a pleasant astringent pull through the finish. I liked this tea best sweetened with honey and tried a sweetened and chilled version too. As an iced tea it was surprisingly good and its citrusy flavor seems just right for summer.

I loved baked grapefruit sprinkled with brown sugar as a kid so my taste for the pucker up fruit goes way back. I learned recently adding salt can neutralize grapefruit’s bitterness to help bring out its sweetness more. A nice perception trick that can’t hurt. I didn’t add salt to my tea but adding a few grains would be interesting to try when I order a sample bag to brew more.

My CT packet had 3 g/ 2 tsp of grapefruit scented tea with black tea leaves and citrusy marigold petals. I added 2 orange pieces for good measure and brewed 12 oz. at 200F for 3 minutes. The liquor color was amber and tasted of grapefruit which perfectly matched the scent of the tea. The naturally bright and tangy Ceylon tea base added a boost to the citrus flavor and had no detected bitterness. A resteep of 8 oz. was good and milder tasting. If you like grapefruit then this tea is one to try, it’s true to its name with a one flavor focus.

This light tea is delicious and refreshing. Enjoyed it brewed hot and even more cooled. The grapefruit aroma translated well to the flavor of the tea.

Nice grapefruit flavor, it’s missing the tartness of the last grapefruit I tried, but that’s alright. I cold brewed this one, and it was mellower than expected like that.

Grapefruit always tastes a little soapy me to me but it's good for when I want something sharp to wake me up. Just a tiny bit of sugar in it mellows it out a lot.

This is a good tea. The black tea overwhelms the grapefruit. It needs more grapefruit The White Grapefruit is better. The white tea lets the grapefruit come through. That tea is great.

This tea is not my fave tea. Not a lot of grapefruit for me but the tea did have a bit of a bitter taste. I will definitely be sticking to my Grapefruit Oolong - which I would suggest you try if this tea didn't do it for you.

The citrusy scent of the orange peels, marigold and grapefruit is very pleasant. The tea when brewed is definitely a drool-worthy grapefruit and combines in a complementary way with the black tea. Not too bitter, not to sweet. An intriguing and enjoyable tea. Since I love black tea and grapefruit, this was a win-win. I will keep this one in my stock.

This does have a good natural grapefruit flavor to it with plenty of caffeine, but it's a bit weak in grapefruit flavor. I just add grapefruit oolong to it and together they're lovely. They pair really well with lemon Soleil tea. I don't oversteep or brew higher than 212 otherwise it gets bitter.
