I love this flavor! I first had it as part of a blend so I wasn't sure how odd feel about it straight, but it is a lonely citrus tea. When the sample is gone, I will order a larger size.
A wake-up call to the senses! Invigorating grapefruit flavor with tangy, citrusy Ceylon black tea.

I love this flavor! I first had it as part of a blend so I wasn't sure how odd feel about it straight, but it is a lonely citrus tea. When the sample is gone, I will order a larger size.
This tea has a nice summer time feel. It is my husbands favorite.
This is my new go to favorite black tea. The grapefruit punches through just enough! Solid black tea!
This is honestly one of my favorite teas. I absolutely love grapefruit, and it has the perfect amount of flavor.
This smells amazing and extremely strong in the bag, but the strength doesn't fully carry over to the flavor. It's still a great tea (hence the 5 stars) and probably my favorite from Adagio, but I wish the flavor was as knockout as the smell makes you think it's going to be.
Refreshingly crisp grapefruit flavors in the smell and taste. Not overpowering in flavor, but just enough so you enjoy the grapefruit and the black tea flavors. Blends well with the citrus like flavors of the ceylon. Love it warm, but would also be great as an iced tea.
One of my favorite blends. Tart grapefruit, smooth black tea. What more could you want!
A bold but balanced black tea that delivers good grapefruit flavor.
Nice breakfast tea on a cool morning. I added a bit of cream
Very refreshing taste and inviting smell. Great summertime tea
Wow, I love this tea. It s my perfect cup of citrusy wake-up tea. The grapefruit aromas are refreshing and add that extra kick to awaken your senses. After too many good, but plain, black teas, this tea was a welcoming flavour change.
I sweetened with honey for that perfect cup.
I’m torn on this one, which is why only 4 stars. I enjoy the flavor, but the scent is SO overpowering from the bad - my entire cupboard smelled like it.
Dry tea smells like grapefruit, and when brewed the smell persists. Once brewed the grapefruit is quite noticeable and is a bright citrus that complements the citrusy Ceylon. There isn’t much bitterness from the Ceylon. As the tea cools, the balance isn’t thrown. I feel like this would make a great iced tea. Brewed for 3 minutes at 200.
I did not expect to like this one. The smell after opening the sachet smelled so much like the inside of a grapefruit peel that I expected bitterness, but I am so delighted to be wrong.
This would have been fabulous iced, but it was delicious hot. When I was a kid, eating grapefruit meant cutting it in half through the side and sprinkling each hemisphere with a blanket of granulated sugar and digging out the segments with a serrated spoon. It was sweet and sticky and bright and time consuming and I loved it. As an adult, I learned to eat grapefruit straight up, like an orange, and begrudged the lack of sugar from my youth, because Adulting isn't always fun.
This tea was a great opportunity to remove the delight of my childhood grapefruit experiences with a splash of brown sugar oatmilk creamer. It was just sweet enough, and so full of grapefruit flavor without any of the bitterness of citrus pith. I would definitely drink this tea again.
I usually like Adagio's flavored black teas so I was excited to try this one. The packet smelled like a strong citrus fruit peel; Specifically the bitter peel, not the fruit. When steeped for 3 minutes, it tastes the same. It has a punch similar to citrus cleanser. I added sugar and it didn't help. It reminded me of bergamot with how it made me recoil. I could not finish my cup. Maybe a small % in a blend this is drinkable, but on it's own this is not it...
On paper I’m was thinking this is not a flavor I would like in a tea!
Upon opening the tea the aroma of red grapefruits was present. I love to eat red grapefruit with sugar so I added some sugar prior to trying and it was a great choice! I really enjoyed this tea. I perfect Saturday morning tea to start the day!!
I love this tea. It has a lovely grapefruit smell and taste. I enjoy drinking it hit and cold with a little bit of honey
This was a lovely cup of tea to start my day. It had the best parts of grapefruit flavor without the bitterness.
Yum this tea is really really good! I love the grapefruit flavor!
Today's communitea packet smelled like ripe grapefruit! The aroma permeated the kitchen while steeping for 3 minutes at 212°F.
Bold and zesty grapefruit mingled with the brisk Ceylon black tea to create a wonderfully pungent citrus flavor. Just like a real grapefruit, there was a bit of natural bitterness but it well rounded by the citrus aromatics and blended to enhance the black tea tannins. The bitterness was not like an inferior CTC bagged tea might have, but instead a very close flavor to that of a fresh grapefruit.
If grapefruit bitterness isn't your thing, try it with some sugar or sweetener of your choice. It wasn't sour or bitter enough to get me to reach for the sweetener myself, like hibiscus commonly does. Instead, it provided a nice palate cleansing and refreshing tea to pair with breakfast. This one's definitely going on my wishlist to try again!
Today's CommuniTea packet is grapefruit, made with black tea, grapefruit flavor, orange and marigold flowers. I think the scent of grapefruit is stronger than the taste, but overall I like the tea. Grapefruit being grapefruit, I can also understand those that don't particularly like it. I don't normally add sugar to tea, and I didn't tonight either, but I did think about it. It would be interesting to try it cold. (Brewed in 12 ounces of 200F water for 3 minutes.)
The tea goes fantastic with a non-dairy creamer, it's like drinking a creamsicle! Without cream, for a more traditional cup, it smells incredibly vibrant and fresh, invigoratingly so. This would be a delightful tea to use the grinder on, fold it into a cake or scone dough, and make some fantastic breakfast treats.
If you like grapefruit I’m sure you’ll love this tea because it really does taste like a grapefruit. I personally am not a huge fan so I don’t love this tea.
This tea is much better iced than it is hot but even then the grapefruit doesn't shine through very much. It's good but not my favorite.
Very good definitely had to use quite a bit more honey then normal to take out the biteyness but a great tea am going to cold brew a 2nd cup.
I didn’t like this tea hot, but found it deliciously refreshing iced with a little honey. I think a cold steep would be better, but I steeped stronger than usual (3 grams of tea instead of 2) in 6oz of water at 190F x 2 min. Then repeated with a second steep for 3 min. Added both to a thermos with some ice and sweetener and enjoyed on a hot afternoon.
CommuniTEA Sample - I really enjoyed this tea. I do like a lot of citrusy drinks and this one was right up my alley. A nice grapefruit aroma when opening the package and the tea itself was very smooth with just the right amount of grapefruit flavor.
I ended up doing a second steep (cold) of this one and it was even better than the original one. It really lets the grapefruit shine and was such a refreshing drink on a 95 degree day. I really like this tea!
Glad this one was in the CommuniTEA today, I’ve been wanting to try it. I love grapefruit and I love citrus in my tea. This had a nice, fresh aroma. I’m not as big a fan of Ceylon tea but this was very refreshing. My first steep was straight and hot, and my second was cold. I like it both ways, but cold is definitely better. 190° for 2 min. first steep, second steep was cold brewed for 3 hours.
From scent to taste, this tea is all about the grapefruit. If you like grapefruit, you will likely enjoy this tea but, if grapefruit is not your thing, you may want to give this one a pass.
The smell is exactly like a grapefruit. The bad news with this smell is it's strong. I will look forward to tasting other grapefruit teas in the future. I'm just not crazy about this one.
You have to already really like grapefruit to enjoy this, I think! Not my jam, too tart even with stevia.
This tea smells totally amazing and refreshing! I was worried it would taste really artificial like the grapefruit oolong, but it doesn't. It's really wonderful. <3
This was one of the first teas I purchased from Adagio but knowing nothing about brewing temps, I probably used too hot of a water temperature and didn’t quite like this tea. I brewed this at 195°, added some Tupelo honey and stuck it in the fridge. It was a tasty and refreshing cup of tea!
Very nice grapefruit flavor! This is a really tasty treat when iced, and it's one of the few teas from Adagio I've found that really needs a bit of sweetener to bring the flavors out.
Wow -- such a nice grapefruit aroma when I opened my packet! Brewed 3 minutes, 200F...toned down the temp a bit to quiet the ceylon just a bit and allow the grapefruit taste to come forward. Still a bit lighter on citrus taste given the strong grapefruit aroma, but nice! On second steep I tossed in a tsp of blood orange to ramp up the citrus a bit. Very nice hot and cold. Glad I finally got to try this tea! Been curious about it for a long time!
Yes you can definitely smell grapefruit that taste it, and it was also tasted great, I’m going to make ice ice it.☕️🫖
Nice grapefruit flavor not too strong or artificial tasting. I like this one best unsweetened and cold.
Slightly bitter, acidic grapefruit taste worked well with black tea! I enjoyed this one sweetened and iced. It was tart and refreshing! Happy Sipping!
The aroma alone tells you this is grapefruit, the taste is subtley citrus. While it calls for a bit of sweetener, it isn't necessary. Enjoyable when hot, the citrus begs for a cold brew on a summer day.
I was a one star fan with a hot bitter cup but I put it over ice and omg did it change!!! Best drank iced for sure!!!
High expectations after smelling the leaves but my bubble was burst on first sip. Needed sugar to make up for lack of punch. Was hoping for more citrus from this one -- perhaps the grapefruit notes were smothered by the black tea and this might work better with a green?
I don't particularly like this tea hot as the bitterness of the grapefruit is a little too overwhelming and the idea of hot grapefruit is also less than appealing. But, I love this tea as an iced tea. When cooled, the tartness of the grapefruit with the black tea is very refreshing. This is an excellent tea for a grapefruit lover.
I steeped this tea at 212F for 3 minutes and then let cool in the refrigerator. When cooled, I added ice and simple syrup.
After smelling what the little pouch had to offer, I wasn’t sure I was going to like this. I was pleasantly surprised! A delicious citrus black tea.
A fruity black tea that has a mild grapefruit flavor.
Cold brewed this CommuniTEA offering for 6 hours, and the resulting tea was a delightful treat! Light and refreshing, (I brewed the generous sample in 30 ounces of water) the iced tea tasted of citrus peel. I wouldn’t have been able to identify what citrus, only that it was sweet, citrusy and refreshing. Very nice!
This is way beyond the realm of what I would usually love, but I do love this. The grapefruit flavor and scent are robust, and the Ceylon is rich and flavorful. I drank this hot, but I believe this blend's destiny is iced with honey. This would make a flawless iced tea. I brewed it at 212 for 3 mins, and it was not bitter.
What a terrific tea blend, and unexpected. I would not have thought grapefruit in a tea would be tasty all. I expected those to be bitter and it was very very smooth.
Folks who don't like grapefruit, but can bear it in things like seltzer: this is not the tea for you! Abundant grapefruit! Blech!
Wonderful tea! I already loved grapefruit oolong. Now I’m not sure which is better! Maybe the oolong but this is excellent. Smells great, tastes great!
A lovely taste - my first time having a grapefruit flavored tea, but not my last. I steeped it at 212 for three minutes and added honey. I was agraid the citrus elements would overpower but was delighted that they enhanced the tea’s natural flavor. Kudos to Adagio for this refreshing blend.
