This is a soothing black tea with a mild 'bakery' flavor. The gingerbread cookie is definitely present without being overpowering. This was a crowd pleaser at my holiday party and I was asked many times 'Who makes it?' and 'Where did you get this?'

love the flavor , gingerbread , a good one to try

★★★★☆

I didn’t get much flavor on this one but it was still good. Wish it was less muted as I love gingerbread

★★★☆☆

It smells amazing but the flavor was lacking. I love gingerbread flavor so I was disappointed.

Update: I remade the tea - 200 F for 3 minutes. added a little sweetener and now it's perfect.

My first reaction to this was 'eh' and then the wave of gingerbread flavor came along! Each sip went that way, which was a little odd, but I enjoyed it overall.

★★★★★

Such a festive brew! Love it with milk and sweetener

★★★★☆

It's not bad, but it's better as an ingredient in blends.

Gingerbread tea is quite enjoyable especially with cream.

★★★☆☆

This tea had a the fragrance of gingerbread out of the package! The tea itself was a quality black tea with a subtle hint of gingerbread.

★★★★☆

I tried this as part of the December communiTea. The tea has more gingerbread flavor on the back end. The flavor is good, but it could be a little stronger.

I just couldn't get past the aweful taste to try to add sweetener. I just tried a couple sips then had to pour it out. It smelled heavenly out of the communitea packet, but the taste was nothing like it smelled.

★★★★☆

Tasted slightly like ginger bread. It wasn’t bad, but I also wouldn’t buy it.

★★★☆☆

I was excited to try this one. It was just okay. I didn’t really get a gingerbread flavor from it.

★★★★☆

Reviewed as part of the communiTEA. Yum! Really liked the gingerbread flavor. Added some creamer and sugar to make a comforting beverage perfect for Christmas!

Better than I expected! I brewed at 180 for about 2 minutes and added a bit of sugar. It tasted like tea and ginger plus some indefinable holiday vibes. Not bad!

★★☆☆☆

I was super excited about this one, so the actual flavor of it was a disappointment. It was bitter despite my precautions, and there was no gingerbread flavor at all. No ginger or orange, even. Adding a decent amount of sugar saved it from being undrinkable and maybe brought out a slight lingering gingerbreadness, but I doubt I'd try this one again.

★★★★★

Tastes spicy and gingerbread-y. Great with milk and sweetener!

★★★☆☆

I wanted to love this tea, as gingerbread is one of my favorite holiday flavors. This tea was tasty, but no real gingerbread flavoring jumped out at me. It was very subtle; maybe my CommuniTEA packet was lacking some of the components of this tea. I liked it, but can’t put the “gingerbread” label on it.

I guess at least I'm not alone in my failing to detect gingerbread? Was afraid or was my palate. If I try really hard, I get the faintest gingerbread aroma, but no flavor. It's a perfectly nice black tea. I added a bit of cream. But sadly, the flavors didn't come out for me.

My packet had everything as expected, and smelled lovely as well. I brewed it up exactly as specified, and have to admit to being a little disappointed in the result. The flavour is nice enough, mild and festive, but for a tea named gingerbread, it has none of the ginger or spiciness it's name would suggest. The tea base is nice and works well with the spice, but all in all I was underwhelmed with the flavour, I had expected more oomph.

A generally good blend, but not the best that Adagio has to offer. The ginger was strong but not balanced well enough with other spices. The result was a mild 'burn' which detracted from the overall effect.

I love black teas, but I'm not a super huge fan of gingerbread cookies in general. This tea smells really wonderful though! On first taste, it's mostly a very light ginger flavor and mostly just a nice solid, black tea taste (I'm cool with that!) BUT then you get this perfect aftertaste of gingerbread - literally like you just took a bite of a gingerbread cookie. It's understated, but I think that is perfect, as too much of that flavor gets overwhelming quickly. It was just the right the amount of flavor in my opinion.
I probably wouldn't buy this, but that's mostly because it's not a flavor I crave. But it is a really pleasant tea for what it is intended to be -- and not artificial tasting! I would definitely not complain to drink it again! My kids were a little meh about this one.

Based on reviews that this tea didn’t have much flavor I decided to oversteep and turn it into a latte. Pleasant slightly gingery, slightly coconuty, smooth, dessert like flavor, not super reminiscent of gingerbread though! 15 @ 200 + ½ cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk.

Not enough ginger in my gingerbread. All I taste is tea.

I had high hopes for this one. Upon opening, it smelled fantastic, just like gingerbread. It smelled like it while steeping, too. But when it came to tasting, it wasn’t there. There was only a slight hint of gingerbread and it was slightly bitter when steeped for 3 mins like the packet said. I’m sure a shorter or cooler steep might help the bitter part, but I followed the instructions and only had a single serve sample packet to try (communiTEA).

Very good black tea that would have been better if it actually tasted like gingerbread. I sampled this in the Christmas sampler last month and wasn’t impressed then and still not impressed today with it in the CommuniTea.

★★★☆☆

I was so-looking forward to my communiTea sample today. I was even anticipating a little chai taste with a kick of spicy gingerbread flavors. Sadly, nope, none, no gingerbread taste at all showed up, not even cinnamon or ginger just a plain tasting black tea. What a shame, because I love gingerbread. (Steeped 2 1/2 mins 190F)

My Communitea packet was missing the orange, but the aroma of the dry tea was amazing and I was looking forward to this one. Unfortunately the flavor was so mild that the bitterness of the tea overwhelmed any flavor that I was getting. If I thought really hard about it I could kind of pick up on the ginger. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't gingerbread.

I was really underwhelmed by this. There was a familiar artificial gingerbread aroma here that I don't like, but it didn't transfer at all into the flavor here. I had a couple nice sized orange peels in my packet, but the flavor was extremely mild even with an extra minute added to my steep. Hardly any ginger flavor here, which was disappointing. I finished my cup, it wasn't bad by any means, but it was disappointing for what was promised in flavor.

Pretty underwhelmed by this tea. I think if I drank it without expecting ginger, maybe I'd like it more. I tasted no orange,no spice, no ginger. It just seemed like a slightly bitter black tea. A second brewing didn't bring any notes forward for me.

I'm convinced this tea is a little bit magic. Not only are there delicious notes of cinnamon, ginger, and a bit of orange, but something in the flavoring makes it smell and taste actually baked. Like that cookies-in-the-oven smell that fills your house. That 'bakiness' totally sets this tea apart from the spiced black teas I know and love. The flavor is milder than I expected, which makes for a brew that is smooth and easy to sip. I took off a star because I actually want a stronger kick of ginger and spice, but this version probably has broader appeal. For a second steep, I brewed for 4 minutes instead of 3 and added a bit of brown sugar - delish!

★★★★☆

This is one of those teas that tastes better after it cools. When hot, I was not able to detect any gingerbread flavor but when I added a half teaspoon of honey and let it cool, I could detect a bit of cloves, orange and spice in this tea.

This is a good black tea with gingerbread flavor. I don't drink a lot of black tea myself, but my husband does and he really liked this one. Great holiday option. Good with a splash of cream and a little sugar.

★★★☆☆

I received this tea as part of the communiTEa as well as in a teabag from the Holiday Cheer pack I purchased. Having tried the CommuniTea I found it to have very little flavor. Just was a slid black tea. I next tried the bagged tea from the Holiday Cheer and I found it to have more flavor. But still did not wow me.

While the flavors weren't that bold, I really liked it. Needed a couple of cubes of sugar to make it yummy, but once it cooled down a little, it tasted warm and toasty. Black tea with a little extra, but non of the spiciness that sometimes puts me off of chai tea or any spice forward tea. I think I had this tea last year with some other Christmas teas and it tasted a little more gingerbready. I liked the description 'mini chai' someone pasted in the chat today :) Tasted as part of The CommuniTea.

This tea smells like gingerbread but tastes like black tea. I'm not sure what happened to all the flavor.

★★★★★

Really enjoyed the gingerbread tea! I was worried that the taste would be overpowering but the flavors blended well together!

I liked it but then I added stevia and cream to it. Tasted like a ginger cookie so I was good with it. Was glad the ginger was not strong. 💗💗💗💗

★★★★☆

Mmmm. I did not like the artificial flavor of ginger bread very much. The tea from Sri Lanka actually tasted good. So I added some maple syrup and hint of cinnamon powder. Yay! It became like Lotus Biscoff Cookies!

Opened the packet and sniffed the dry tea. 'Ooh! This smells like it's gonna be so yummy! Love me that gingerbread!' Brewed the tea and sniffed. 'What happened? Now it just smells like regular black tea.' Added a touch of Stevia and just a tiny splash of cream. 'Well, it's sweet, but it doesn't taste like much of anything with just an aftertaste of black tea.' I'm sad. I so wanted a yummy gingerbread tea to have during the holidays, since I don't do cookies, anymore. 😢

This tea does not taste like gingerbread. The smell in the bag is off-putting and artificial. The tea itself it okay. It's a mild, caramel-and-cream flavored tea that would probably be best as a latte. Be careful not to steep this one too long or with more than 1 tsp/8 oz. or you will get a very bitter, undrinkable cup. (3 min @ 212°F)

It taste like gingerbread dipped in tea. Somehow the aftertaste is pure gingerbread

★★★☆☆

Didn't really taste like gingerbread in particular, but it was a pleasant spiced black tea.

★★★★☆

Slightly bitter, not too much in the way of gingerbread notes, cinnamon and orange are more dominant.

★★★☆☆

This one is one of my least favorite in the holiday set. I was able to re-taste it today for the daily CommuniTEA, and it's exactly how I remember it. There's not even a hint of gingerbread to it, making it taste like a pretty generic black tea.

★★★☆☆

Very lightly spiced tea. I did get a gingerbread flavor, but only after the tea had gone cold. If you could still get that flavor while hot, the tea would be pretty good. I don't put milk in my tea, but I can see where some creamer would improve the flavor here.

★★★★★

It's a nice little mild spice blend. A cute little seasonal tea so cold mornings.

★★☆☆☆

I wasn't really a fan of this tea no matter how I tried to brew it unfortunately. It just has too much of an artificial flavor and I didn't get much ginger from it. It also got bitter very quickly if brewed for more than 2-3 minutes. Usually I enjoy the flavored black teas but this one was a miss for me.

Update after trying again with CommuniTEA sample: Not quite as artificial tasting as the last sample I got and was drinkable as a latte. However I still really don't get a gingerbread flavor from this at all. Something about the flavoring just doesn't work for me.

No gingerbread taste here, jut kind of a sad black tea. Shame, because I love gingerbread.

Although an enjoyable cup of black tea with a hint of gingerbread, a bit more of that ginger taste would have made this great for me. Sweetening the tea did help bring out more flavor.
