It was okay nothing out of this world I just I just have it as an option in my pantry.
Creamy texture of fresh coconut flavor with the balanced brightness of Ceylon. Perfectly sweet and very well-blended.

Nice coconut blend that tastes great when served hot or cold!
Fantastic tea. The scent is amazing when you open the package. Love the coconut flavour.
One of my new favorite black teas. If you like coconut, you will love this tea. Personally, I put a bit of rock sugar in it to bring out its sweetness.
Light flavor but pleasant. I like mixing this with chocolate teas
Love the coconut taste. It was more pronounced than initially thought. And it smells amazing.
My new favorite I drink it everyday can't get enough
love the flavor! Smells like coconut when you open the bag and tastes like it too
Great coconut flavor! And the scent is incredible.
I was expecting to love this one...the coconut was a little artificial and the tea was too astringent for my liking.
If you like coconut, you will love this tea! I have experimented mixing this with Chocolate Truffle and Almond. YUM!
Love love this one. Must have paired with the almond teas!
This tea smells like suntan lotion! There's a strong smell of coconut and I can see real coconut in the tea but once brewed there isn't much flavor. It tastes better blended with other black teas for a more robust flavor. I like to pour this one over ice for a refreshing summer iced tea.
Love this one, I drink it in the morning high caffeine which is perfect.
Love it! When it's steeping I can smell it anywhere in the house. Really good with a splash of cream, comforting.
My ultimate favorite tea. Drink it daily!!! Great as iced tea. I’m still drinking this tea everyday
(Review based on 3oz order of Coconut tea, to replace the CommuniTEA packet that was lost in the wind storm! 🌬️🌪️🍃)
Sweet tropical coconut aromas floated out of the tea pouch as I opened it. Excited to try this delicious smelling tea, I popped it into the VelociTEA steeping basket. I pressed the black tea button to steep at 212°F, but forgot to set my 2 minute timer and pull the basket right when water started pumping up. So, I pulled it out as soon as I noticed it was already steeping, but it had already been about 4 minutes. As a result, the full steep was 4 minutes at 212°F, which created a deep mahogany colored tea.
The coconut aromas continued to drift up from the hot cup of tea as it cooled enough to sip. The first sip was smooth, tropical and savory from the coconut flavors. The black Ceylon tea provided a strong base with plenty of bold tannins for a satisfying level of briskness. The 4 minute steep time was high enough to just barely start pulling out some of the more bitter tea leaf elements. Natural coconut oil flavors permeate and mingle with the black tea to smooth out these components. 🥥
Adding some cream to the cup enhanced the coconut flavor to whip up a smooth coconut cream tea! Rounding off any sharp edges from the brisk Ceylon, the result was delightfully silky smooth and creamy. I'd highly recommend adding cream to this tea!
Overall this is an excellent tea that I just couldn't resist ordering to try. The coconut flavor is similar to the Coconut Pouchong, with the added benefit of being a black tea to get you jump started in the morning. Together coconut and Ceylon make an excellent combination!
This review is dedicated to our damaged camping tent and those two missing CommuniTEA packets that blew off into the wind during last weekend's camping trip. May they rest in peace!
This is now one of my favorites. Flavor is smooth and acidity is balanced. Will be reordering!
I'm not a fan of coconut so I was turned off from the get go. However, I must admit that this is delicious if you have any sort of liking for its namesake. Five stars for execution, my own tastes be darned.
Subtle yet satisfying. The coconut is light and warm, an extremely comforting drink. Funny enough, it still feels like a tropical paradise.
Sadly, this tastes like my conditioner. Very strong coconut flavor though for anyone who really likes it
I really enjoyed the simplicity of this lovely brew ❤️
I really didn't think I liked coconut but Adagio and CommunTea are proving me wrong time after time. However they add coconut to tea is amazing. This tea had a creamy, warm coconut flavor but you need to take care while brewing as the black tea base can end up bitter. Hold off on the brewing temp and the black tea creates a slightly astringent counterpoint to the coconut making this a nicely balanced tea.
I followed the advice of several other CommuniTEA reviewers and brewed this at 190F for 3 minutes. I took a few sips while hot and unmodified, and it was a nice, smooth sip, but I wanted to bring the coconut more forward, so I added a tsp of rock sugar, which made the whole drink just incredibly enjoyable. I think this one would also be great iced (again, mildly sweetened), and I think it would probably work well for blending with other teas. This was a very enjoyable sip.
Pure coconut pleasure! I steeped as per directions and added a packet of Splenda. On the first steep, I didn’t taste any tea, just coconut. Very Strong Coconut! ( But good.)
The second round yielded a more balanced blend of tea and flavor. Someone should bottle this and call it “Coconut Cooler”. Better yet, as the famous line from Catcher In The Rye goes, “Can’t cha stick a little rum in it?”
Seriously though, this reminded me of a Mounds candy bar, so it could be interesting tweaked with a little chocolate tea or even Valentine tea for a chocolate-strawberry-coconut treat.
I will eventually buy a packet and play around with it a bit. All in all, a very pleasant Sunday afternoon cup!
Mmmmm love love love this one!!! I'm going to have to order more!
I love coconut but this was too much of a good thing. So I mixed mine with even parts carmel and chocolate black tea and now I have a cup that tastes exactly like a girlscout cookie!
When I tried this one last year with the CT I loved the smell but I didn’t care for the bitter taste. That was before I learned how I needed to brew Ceylon based tea to suit my taste. Today I brewed it at 185° for 2 minutes. I added a pump of Adagios honey for black teas and some coconut creamer. Not only did it smell delicious but I actually enjoyed the taste this time around, absolutely no bitterness and the coconut came though nicely. I tasted it plain first and it was fine but it was way better with the additions.
I honestly assumed that the intense coconut smells from my CommuniTEA packet would fade into nothing upon brewing - but I was wrong! This brewed up to be quite a tasty cup with all the black tea you could ask for and plenty of natural coconut flavor.
Such a pleasant tea to smell and drink. Greeted right away with a slightly maltly, coconut smell when opening the communiTEA packet. Slightly bitter chocolate like flavor with a coconut background on my first sip of this hot. Added 1/2tsp of honey to pull the coconut out more and to sweeten up the whole package. Coconut came forward with honey and as the tea cooled. Nice black tea base balanced well with the coconut. No fighting for dominance in this cup. Love how coconut teas end with a nice creamy finish. Will be a great tea to sip on its own or to blend with others. Great warm or iced. Steeped at 190º for 3 mins on first and second steep. Enjoy!
A great tea, my cup of tea, I like it cold little sugar and cream. I mix it with other teas.☕️🫖
I thought this had a pleasant coconut flavor. I added a little sugar because I generally find black tea bitter, but it didn't need too much for to the sweetness of the coconut. I enjoyed it iced, but I bet it would make a nice hot latte.
I steeped the tea for the recommended 3 minutes at 212F.
If you are cuckoo for coconut, this is your jam! It smelled amazing and tasted tropically delicious. I enjoyed my CommuniTEA packet iced with a splash of coconut milk. Happy sipping!
This is a perfectly good coconut tea. It’s not the tea’s fault I don’t like coconut. Also needs to be steeped at a lower temperature to avoid bitterness.
Update: The aroma and taste of today's communiTEA packet was way better in quality and flavor. It actually smelled and tasted like a robust black tea with creamy, coconutty flavors. It was a completely different tea than what I received from my previous purchase in Feb '21. I would not have recommended this tea before, but now after having a better sample, I would.
Original Review (Feb 20th '21): I purchased this after having other blends with this tea included and loving the smooth coconut flavor that it provided. I don't know if tea goes bad, but I'm fairly certain I got a bad batch. It smelled funny and there were zero coconutty aromas when I opened the pouch. I love ceylon black tea, but this didn't taste like ceylon or coconut, it just had an off flavor. All together this tea was a disappointment. Since I've had it in blends that tasted good, I can only assume there was something wrong with the bag I received.
Meh it was ok nothing to write home about I’m not really into coconut flavor tho
What a wonderful base flavor! Be careful with water temp-the Ceylon tends to be bitter. But the coconut is so wonderfully sweet! This one will be added to my cupboard, as I can imagine it mixed with so many different flavors!
Smells like all parts of the coconut especially the oily part right above the husk; medium bodied, slightly tannic black tea with rich, creamy, oily coconut. Brew at a slightly lower temperature than 212 if you want less bitterness.
Not a bad tea. Probably not one I’ll choose to reach for on it’s own, but I can see why it holds up well in blends. I didn’t get any coconut flakes in my bag today, but the flavoring was still on point and it was clear who the star of the show was. I added a bit of truvia to the cup, and added some milk on the second half of my sip. I do think in the end I preferred it without milk, but it was still tasty!
Yep. There's coconut in this. The aroma of it is strong throughout the tea process - in the dry leaves, in the brewing, and in the sipping, where it is most noticeable in the back of throat as the liquid washes down the esophagus. Perhaps adding sweetener would coax out more coconut flavor rather than just an aromatic sensation, and a lover of coconut may want to try that. I am not one, so all I can say is...it is what it claims to be: a coconut black tea.
This one is great iced and good hot too! Plenty of coconut flavor without tasting like sunblock.
This is a strong black tea with a lot of flavor. I enjoyed the coconut flavor and thought it was a pretty good balance with the ceylon tea. I did brew at 200 instead of the recommended 212. I drank this both hot and iced and thought they were both delicious.
I tried brewing at a lower temp, but unfortunately still ended up with a rather 'dry' tea. The coconut was on the artificial side for me and reminded me of sunscreen.
I couldn't find the right balance of black tea being strong enough for added creamer. Brewed 3 mins at 190 and it wasn't strong enough. Should have tried 4 mins as 5 was too much on the 2nd brew.
Not as good as coconut oolong, but its still tasty. The flavor is nice and strong, islandy, and good warm too.
I rate this tea a 9/10
I had it in coldbrew form, and it is delicious!
Tasting with the CommuniTEA. I am not a fan of coconut but I could see this working well in a blend. I steeped at 195 x 3 min and added a chocolate creamer.
Nutty, more savory than fruity. I was pleasantly surprised by this tea.
CommuniTEA Sample: I enjoyed this nice black tea. Steeped it a bit cooler (195) and no bitterness at all, just some nice coconut flavor. Typically coconut teas have something else in them for sweetener, but this one didn’t seem to. It was a nice change of pace and I really did enjoy it.
Tasting along with the CommuniTEA today: Strong coconut fragrance wafting from dry ingredients and packet. Once steeped for 3 mins at 190° F (to minimize ceylon tannins), I notice more coconut along with subtle honey black tea scents from my cup. When I take a sip, I dry black tea tannins noticed with a coconutty finish.
