This is a nice smooth black tea with plenty of chocolate notes that hit you throughout drinking it! There's also a creaminess to the tea that helps give the same feeling as drinking hot chocolate. My only complaint is that chocolate tea has a tendency to be a bit artificial in flavor, and that artifical taste is very present since there isn't anything to help mask it.
Nice chocolate and cocoa taste. Kinda get some of the candy like sweetness but yeah it is chocolaty. Pleasant to drink but doesn't jump out and say I need to drink you on a weekly basis. Might get a small bag of this in the future but I really would not get any size bigger than that.

Chocolate aromas rose out of today's packet as it cracked open. The recommended 3-min steep at 212°F produced a rich dark chestnut-brown colored tea.
Dark cocoa and brisk black tea were the first flavors in the sip. Cocoa nibs add a somewhat sharp and intense dark-chocolate bitterness, while the chocolate chips managed to sweeten things up and keep them in balance. Bold black tea adds a finish with moderate astringency.
Still an excellent extra-dark cocoa tea blend!

Today's packet smelled like a dark chocolate truffle! A quick 3 minute steep at 212°F produced a dark chestnut brown tea.
Dark cocoa notes were plentiful throughout the tea from start to finish. A hint of woodier and slightly bitter cocoa nibs was present towards the middle. Black tea holds its own amidst the strong chocolate. Moderate levels of astringency were boosted slightly by the dark chocolate flavors.
Quite the cocoa-forward black tea that any dark chocolate lover is sure to enjoy!
Of Adagio's chocolate tea offerings, this is the best I've had. It does have a rich chocolate taste which is enhanced by adding sweetener (rock sugar, in my case). A little milk helps give it a little more substance, but it's good without that as well. For me, though, it cannot replace a good a cup of hot cocoa; it lacks the weight. I realize many would appreciate that, but for me that textural sensation is just as important as the taste. (3-4 minutes @ 200F)
I’m normally pretty picky about chocolate in my tea, but this one hit the spot. Nicely blended.
This is a delicious chocolate tea that tastes best with a generous dose of sweetener (I used raw honey) and a little bit of half and half (I used a plant-based almond and coconut mix). It tastes wonderful, especially as the tea cools. I steeped at 200 degrees for 4 minutes.
This is probably one of the closest to chocolate teas that I have tasted, hence my lower score. Even with the lower brew temp I am still getting a lot of bitterness though. Also not sweet nor creamy. (195F for 3min)

3 Dec 2020 communiTEA review: I do believe that everybody was present in my communiTEA packet this morning. Pleasant chocolate aromas and blue cornflowers made me smile with anticipation.
When hot, moderate chocolate flavors and a some bitterness from the cocoa nibs and tea were noted. I added some sugar to stave off additional bitterness and some half & half to smooth everything out. When warm, very pleasant and creamy smooth chocolate truffle flavors were noted. The black tea base really held up the chocolate flavors nicely.
Chocolate, black tea, sugar, and half & half seal the deal to make this one an authentic chocolate truffle and creamy smooth sip indeed! Very, very nice!
I was able to squeeze a really pleasant second steep from this one. (1st: 3 mins/2nd: 4 mins @ 200ºF, 3/8 tsp sugar, 1/2 tsp half & half)
Delicious! If I could give more than 5 stars I would. This chocolate black tea is a delightful treat. I added a little monk fruit and heavy cream. This will be one I always keep in stock.
This was so good! The smell was a little intimidating - it is HEAVY chocolate and smells so decadent. The tea aroma isn’t as impressive, but the flavor is perfect. Just the right amount of chocolate. A touch of cream would make it a real dessert treat
At first I was having some difficulty getting over the 'cocoa nib tea is not going to be like hot chocoate' hurdle, but once I got my brain thinking about it as a seperate flavor, I started to really enjoy this tea! It's got a nice, subtle menthol-ness to it and I personally found it to skew more on the bitter side, but adding sugar has not taken away from the flavor at all. Great with oat and almond milk!
If you like dark chocolate, I think it's a very good choice. I had it sweetened with some cream, and its like a light hot choco tea. It was very tasty, like a dessert.
Dessert tea, very good. It goes nicely as a mix with fruit based tea, or nut based tea. Will buy again.
This flavor is our favorite of all. a rich chocolare deep flavor, we add vanilla milk and wow so good anytime!

I didn't drink this tea, but instead infused it in butter for baking. It added a wonderful flavor to my cookies and was a big hit!
I like to steep this tea for a bit longer because I find it adds more depth to the flavor. Overall, the flavor is wonderful! It has a nice chocolatey and bold flavor. Highly recommend for people who enjoy hot cocoa or mocha lattes.

This is a yummy, dark chocolate flavored tea. I like to use it to make what I call a Mayan Fog—essentially a chocolate tea latte. It’s my Sunday morning treat!

This is very chocolatey, as it should be. It's sweet enough as is, though it would also pair well with some milk or cream. There is a brightness to the tea that contrasts well with the slight bitterness of the cocoa. Overall it feels very decadent. The chocolate chips were a bit clumped-up and melted, but I guess that's just a consequence of shipping in the middle of summer.

This is a new favorite of mine. I've purchased it more than once. I am a chocolate lover and I find that this has the chocolate flavor I prefer over some of the other Adagio chocolate-featured flavors. Great with milk and a bit of sugar, but it is also fine without the sweet added.
Yeah, this is...exactly what it says on the tin. Chocolate truffle. It tastes like someone blended good hot chocolate into good tea, and the result is honestly both surprising and tasty.
I love mixing this with my raja oolong Chai for a bit of variety in my morning flavors. I'm not usually huge on chocolatey teas by themselves, but this one is enjoyable by itself as well, with some brown sugar and a splash of milk. Yum!

I love adding a little sweetner and cream to chocolate teas to make my own 'hot cocoa' out of them. This tea is very chocolate-y, ao if you're a fan of rich, dark cocoa drinks, this is definitely up your alley.

This tea smells like tootsie rolls and tastes like hot chocolate. I loved it from the moment I smelled it.
Ordered more of it after the sample ran out. I like putting in some cashew or soy milk and a teaspoon or two of honey (depending on how much tea I'm having). I will say that this tea is not forgiving of oversteeping. I accidentally left this in the teapot a minute too long at one point and there was a bitter aftertaste to it, which makes sense- black tea. Really good when done right though.

Strongest of the chocolate teas at Adagio! I have tried them all and this has a much richer, deeper, chocolate flavor. My go-to for a chocolate tea. I have also used it to then make my own chocolate chai as then I can make it to my desired strength (not too much cinnamon). Try it with a teaspoon of half & half and some honey and it's quite decadent!
Loved this tea. I was tasting layers of flavor and this has a beautiful lingering natural sweetness with no aftertaste! Absolutely delicious on it's own with a dash of milk and drop of clover honey!
Didn't love this one, many people said it tastes like hot chocolate and it DOES taste good, but not the equivalent.
I like this tea. It is a treat, but I did think it would have a stronger flavor. I think with a mild flavor it is best to savor this alone without competing flavors. Best with a croissant or other sweet treat.
I'm often disappointed by chocolate teas - it must be a hard flavor to get right, but this is the closest to chocolate any tea has come for me. I recommend it with a splash of milk to give it that chocolate creaminess.
