This tea has a stronger taste than most of the others I have tried. I really enjoyed it. I received a sample of the Adagio Rock sugar and it balanced it nicely.

Chocolate and a little taste of sour. Chocolate truffle really does taste like a truffle

More rich that the standard chocolate flavor, I like blending this with cream to create something close to Adagio’s Irish Stout seasonal flavor.

I like this tea. I actually had bought a sample pouch of it and had just tried it the night before this one came up in my 2020 advent calendar too. I like this one, definitely a bitter chocolate flavor and smell. I feel it needs a second packet of sweetener but as soon as the second packet gets added and stirred in it becomes much better and really quite enjoyable. I like this one better hot to warm than room temp so reheating once I'd let it sit too long made it better. Adhering to the 3 minute steep did seem to help this one, and the brew is a dark brown color. I found the second steeping to be much lighter in color and lighter in flavor too. First was better tasting in my opinion but second was okay.

Nice replacement for hot cocoa! Love putting a drop of peppermint in it to make it tastier.

★★★☆☆

This one is alright- not as chocolatey as I thought.

★★★★★

Really nice chocolatey flavor, nice smooth tea. A good snack for dessert.

★★★★☆

This is the most chocolatey tea I've had from Adagio (or anywhere else, for that matter). It's really good either plain or with cream and sugar. I just wish they made a decaf version of this to satisfy my nighttime chocolate cravings.

Update: I'm taking off a star because the last batch I ordered was disappointing. It wasn't as chocolatey, and it had strong caramel notes that I hadn't noticed in previous orders. It was still a good tea but not what I expected. Also, Adagio's customer service was unhelpful. I contacted them with questions about their schedule for making new batches so I would know when to reorder, but they replied only with info copied and pasted from the website.

Really good but not an everyday cup. It tastes like chocolate but a more bitter variety. Not a bad thing.

I tried a sample of this flavor and absolutely loved it. I got the bag and for some reason it doesn’t
taste the same as the sample did? Maybe I just got a bad bag, I’m not sure. But the sample was incredible

I love this tea! With a little sweetener and some good milk, it's almost like hot chocolate.

I bought this as a gift for my brother and he said it was really good. I have not personally tried it.

Incredible smell! You'd think you are about to sip some hot chocolate. Taste is good but its not my favorite...just makes me wish it was hot chocolate.

★★★★☆

Nice chocolate flavor that wasn't too artificial. I like the little bits of chocolate left at the bottom of my cup.

★★★★☆

It's a nice tasting cocoa-nib tea. I expected something a little more capital-c Chocolate to happen with this blend since it's different than the regular chocolate flavor. I have a hard time accepting that chocolate tea is a different experience than mocha and hot chocolate I guess. If you had a nice cocoa-nib tea once and are looking to recreate that this could be the right blend.

It took me a while to decide to get the Chocolate Truffle tea. The minute I opened the package, it was clear that it was a good decision. The fragrant is amazing and promising. The taste didn't disappoint - Chocolate with a tiny hint of liqueur flavor... Perfect!

★★★★★

If choosing between chocolate and this one.. I would choose chocolate truffle. The chocolate chips give it an amazing flavor.

This is nice and chocolatey. It’s perfect tea to cozy up with after a long day.

so delicious I am a chocoholic and this is like having a piece of chocolate cake after dinner
My third order a great gift

Feels like special self-care to have something so chocolatey first thing in the morning. So cozy and comforting.

This honestly blew my mind! It tastes like hot chocolate, no sugar needed. But adding sugar really elevated the hit chocolate taste!

This is a real chocolaty tea! It has a richness that makes it better than the regular chocolate tea. The chocolate flavor is strong enough that I typically add it to a decaf black tea (half of each) to make a half caffeine but chocolatey cup. It is very good with a dollop of dairy or nondairy beverage and sugar or honey.

★★★★★

Second time getting this! I love it and it's in my rotation. This is great to have with fruit or pastries for a snack. It's also awesome for dessert. The chocolate scent and flavour is strong. I usually re-steep the leaves 2 more times before the flavours are really gone. However when re-steeped, the chocolate flavours lessen, understandably.

★★★☆☆

I've come to learn that like with frozen yogurt, I do not enjoy when things are attempting to be chocolate but fall short, so this is just my personal take. I like some of the other chocolate blends here (like the pur erh chorange) but when the main focus is chocolate but there are no calories, it just can't compare to the real thing. I do usually drink my tea straight, so I'm willing to try this again with lots of milk and sugar, but then it's more dessert than tea, and I'd probably rather just eat the chocolate at that point.

I really enjoyed the sample I got of this! I could really taste the chocolate in it!
That being said, I bought a 16 oz bag of this and was sorely disappointed. I'm not sure if it's just not mixed well or what, but I can't taste any sort of chocolate flavoring in it at all anymore.

Another good dessert tea! I recommend having this one on Sunday’s

Really delicious, rich, chocolatey tea! The black tea compliments the cocoa flavor, and it has a very smooth taste. On it’s own, it tastes more like a dark chocolate with slightly bitter notes, but I like to add milk and honey to give it more richness. Also tastes great blended with the Capricorn tea! Highly recommend if you need a pick me up.

Good flavor and you don't need to use a lot of product. I use a quarter teaspoon for 14 oz. water.

Great Dessert tea, just enough chocolate flavor to make it light and enjoyable.

Rich and chocolatey with just enough tea flavor. I think next time I would brew it a little bit lower temperature, but it was quite delicious.

★★★★★

I quite enjoyed this decadent black tea. After reading other reviews, I decided to mix it with another plain black tea (Irish Breakfast) to strengthen the tea and also to stretch it a bit further. It turns out that 50% Irish Breakfast and 50% Chocolate Truffle is perfect! And as an added bonus I was even able to infuse it a second time so that my little CommuniTea packet made over 40oz of luxurious tea (which still disappeared quickly)! I may have to buy more of this. Indulged with the CommuniTea on Dec 3, 2020.

This is one of my husband’s favorite teas and one of my favorite chocolate teas considering I don’t normally like chocolate teas. It’s one of my favorites because it’s not a sweet tea. Instead it is rich in dark chocolate with a creamy approach.

Today' CommuniTEA surprised me. I am not a chocolate lover! People look at me weird but it is true. Upon opening this tea the aroma of chocolate was strong. 195 degrees and about 3 mins. a little sugar added, I found I had a very pleasant chocolate tea! My morning was busy and I forgot about the tea so when I cam back to it, it was cold. Yet it was still delicious. I not want to take this tea with me when I look at the Christmas lights instead of hot coco.

Love this chocolate tea! Great with some milk and sweetener

★★★★★

Note: I sipped this one before adding sweetener and a splash of milk, and found that bitter and miserable, so this review is for the tea once it's doctored.

While no one would mistake this for a cup of cocoa, it is smooth and velvety, conveying the essence of chocolate in all its rich, dark warmth. The tannic tea lingers on the tongue in a way that's pleasant. This is a good cup to sit and enjoy, a Sunday morning tea.

Compared to the honeybush chocolate, this blend had more body that gave it a slightly fuller flavor. Not a huge chocolate-tea fan but gotta note the improvement. (CommuniTea)

December CommuniTEA box:
This tea is delightful. I made an amazing chocolate latte with my CommuniTEA portion.

★★★★☆

I debated between a 3 and 4 star review, but my husband really likes this one. I love that it’s dairy free, but it’s very dark chocolate flavored, which isn’t my favorite. I added sugar and almond milk, which enhanced the flavor. I loved the way it smelled, and I think part of my problem was I wanted it to be hot chocolate, and it was more of a watered down flavor. As a tea, it’s good, but I just couldn’t get past wanting it to be hot chocolate.

★★★★★

Very rich, smooth chocolate taste with next to no bitterness.

★★★☆☆

I keep trying, but it's rare that I find a tea with chocolate flavoring that I like. Even with sweetener, it just doesn't taste like chocolate. This just didn't do it for me.

★★★★★

This is delicious. It was just ok straight, but then I added some of the rock sugar from Adagio. Somehow that woke up all the chocolate flavors. Dark cocoa, a little bit woodsy, bitter chocolate. Black tea tannins in the back half. I'm sure a splash of cream would only enhance the flavors. I don't drink much black tea, flavored or not, but I would absolutely drink more of this!

★★★★☆

I seemed to have all the ingredients in my CommuniTea packet. I could smell the chocolate, though it was a slightly artificial scent.
I tried this tea next to Adagio's Chocolate Chip (which I doesn't taste like chocolate to me), and between the two Chocolate Truffle definitely has the stronger chocolate flavor. I noticed the flavor was helped along by the hot teas aroma. If I took a good gulp I didn't get any chocolate flavor, but while sipping I got a nice smooth flavor.
I think I negated any bitterness by forgetting about my steeping water until it was 190°F, & I steeped for 4min.
I added a spoon of sugar, though I can see how a little cream would be a welcome addition.

I had this flavor as a sample before and I am pretty sure that I liked it, because it is empty. This one was not that great. I am not sure if I got a bad batch of the tea mixture or what but didn't really enjoy it.

★★★★☆

The aroma was decadent! The flavor at first was much more bitter than I had expected but with about 1/2 a tsp of sugar and a splash of regular milk, it tasted as good as it smelled. It's too bad I can't steep it in the VelociTEA but it's worth the extra effort to do a single cup at a time!

★★★☆☆

More astringent than I would prefer, though the bitterness doesn't clash with the chocolate flavoring. The only particularly good chocolate tea I've had uses specially prepared bits of roasted cacao intended for the purpose. Flavorings never cut it the same way. This tasted better as it cooled.

★★★★★

I really enjoyed this one. The tea was almost a little too bitter after the 3 minute steep but the chocolate gave it a good smoothness that evened it out.

★★☆☆☆

I hate to leave a bad review, but I'm just not a fan of this tea. I love chocolate, but I like it much more in coffee than in tea. It was fun to open my CommuniTEA packet to see little chocolate chips bouncing around, and the cocoa aroma hits immediately. When brewed, it's got a very strong chocolatey flavor, that surprisingly isn't too sweet or too bitter. The black tea underneath the chocolate is very nice and actually comes through well. Unfortunately this was never going to be my cup of tea (haha), though I can tell it's high quality.

★★★★☆

Got to try this as part of the CommuniTea. Nice chocolate smell and the chocolate got more prominent as you got toward the end.

★★★★☆

I can see what this tea is trying to do, but I'm not a huge fan. Granted, I don't enjoy chocolate flavors in tea, but I can ignore that for the purpose of this review. It's smooth and chocolatey, but there's not much beyond that. It's not very multi-dimensional in its flavors, though it's a slam dunk for a silky smooth cup of chocolate tea.

I am not usually a chocolate tea lover, but this was pretty good. I added sugar and creamer. It was a CommuniTea sample.
