This is one of my favorites! A great pick-me-up!!
Ceylon tea and rich dark chocolate flavor. Decadent chocolate liquor texture, brightened by the tang of the Ceylon.

This is one of my favorites! A great pick-me-up!!
With a splash of milk and a bit of sugar, this satisfies like a grown-up hot chocolate. It could be a bit heartier (like the Chocolate Chip), but still very satisfying!
Omg sooo good!! Love this and so glad I bought it!
I like to use the chocolate tea on its own or blended with other teas. Either way, it's great!
We like this mostly in blends with other teas, like vanilla, almond, hazelnut, caramel, coconut. I don t like it nearly as much on its own. I also don t like it as much with only vanilla. I love chocolate, but this one is strong and fairly in your face, not a well rounded flavor. However, I always keep it on hand because it is so good in blends.
My new favorite afternoon treat with a shortbread cookie.
Has a rich dark chocolatey flavor. Very satisfying sweet treat!
This chocolate tea has a sort subtly harsh artificial taste to it. I wasn't planning on steeping it by itself, but using it as a mixer to blend with other teas like Mocha Nut Mate or Rooibos Pecan Turtle. In both cases, the Chocolate doesn't enhance the flavor for me. So, this tea is NOT recommended, BUT...
I do recommend the Rooibos Cocomint which combines chocolate and a mint flavor which is succinctly eXcellent! :-)
UPDATE [10-08-2019]: Okay, maybe sometimes you have to take a different approach to things. So, as I outlined above, I was using this Chocolate tea as a secondary mixer. In the last several weeks, I decided to brew this tea by itself because I have a handful of 'teaspoons' left and figured I'd use up this tea, not order it again and make room for something else in one of my tin canisters. WELL... I was wonderfully wrong and surprised at how good it was by itself. Additionally, after that, I decided to try a blend it with my go to Rooibos Cocomint and that complimented this tea very well. So , what I've learned is this tea tastes great by ITSELF, or used as a primary tea and used with a secondary tea like Rooibos Cocomint. The chocolate and mint notes compliment each other. Otherwise, I feel as though the Chocolate gets lost in other teas as outlined in my original review above.
So, I have upgraded my review of the tea from 2 stars to 4 stars.
This Chocolate black tea has just the right blend of tea and cocoa. It’s one of my all time favorites ! Love it!
Good but not great. The chocolate flavor is nice but it does come off feeling a little underpowered, which results in water that tastes like it had chocolate in it at one point.
This tea is ok but the chocolate flavor was on the weak side. The chocolate truffle and chocolate chip tea have a stronger chocolate flavor.
A nice tasty chocolatey tea. Great alone but even better combined with others. I loved this mixed with coconut and cream. I also really enjoyed adding this to the birthday tea.
Tried this tea a couple years ago. Wasn't sure if I would like chocolate tea. It's become one of my favorites.
Very cocoay and less chocolately, a little bitter.
I thought this was the 'truest' taste for chocolate. I had chocolate truffle and chocolate chip also, but I seemed to prefer the 'chocolate' for drinking.
Not a heavy flavor, enjoyable as latte or just a splash of almond milk.
my daughter enjoyed this tea, she added some vanilla almond milk and made it taste like milk chocolate
Great alone but mixes well with orange or cherry.
Decadent flavor. Great with milk and some sweetener.
The flavor of this tea fills the desire to grab a piece of chocolate. Excellent chilled with cream as an iced tea latte
This is one of my favorite chocolate teas. Not an artificial chocolate flavor at all. It is also good mixed with other teas like strawberry.
A decent chocolate tea, particularly for a free sample. Not overly exciting. It can upgrade from 'okay' to 'good' with some doctoring. Adding almond milk and honey and putting a bit of cinnamon stick in during the brewing helps immensely to round out the hint of chocolate. The chocolate chai tea offered here is a much richer flavour experience.
This tea is super smooth. The chocolate flavour isn't super strong, but it has a bit of sweetness and an amazing aroma. It feels silky almost when you drink it. Definitely a new favourite!
One of my wifes favorite teas. She drinks this on special occasions and it seems to always be a hit with guests.
Warm dark chocolate aroma, rich without being too heavy.
Delicious. I can drink this tea all day long. It is a real treat
This tea has a chocolaty aroma, a subtle chocolate flavor, and is not sweet. I got a sample box of Adagio's chocolate teas. This was, to my taste buds, the best. I immediately ordered a pound of it and have a cup almost every day now.
I have surprised myself recently by discovering that I do really like this chocolate tea! It is especially good with heavy cream! Yum!
Warm chocolate black tea to start your day with a high caffeine boost. Pairs very well with the honey, perfect to make a tea Latte with.
Nice strong chocolate flavor. This one is good with a little milk and sugar.
Love love love this! Pairs very well with the honey for black teas.
My package containing this delicious chocolate tea arrived just in time, avoiding a break in my morning routine - Ahhhh...
This tea has a very strong chocolate flavor. It will wake you up in the morning.
Satisfactory, finished the sample, but it's not my favorite chocolate tea.
I tried this first during a Communitea. My granddaughter & I both like it.
I mixed this with hazelnut and added creamer. It was delicious!
It tastes just like you think it would. Tea and chocolate go so nicely together.
Sweet, rich, yet delicate chocolate taste. This one will be a staple
This tea has just enough of a chocolate background without being overwhelming or bitter. Just a touch of chocolatey taste in a great black tea.
This tea has a very nice semi-sweet taste, if a bit more subtle a chocolate taste than I’d prefer. Definitely recommend adding cream to it for a better, richer tea.
OHHHH this is good!! I am pretty new to loose leaf tea and didn't know tea could taste like this! It definitely has more of the bitter flavor of dark chocolate as opposed to milk chocolate, but I prefer dark chocolate so that works for my palate. I added a bit of sugar to warm up the chocolate notes and it's just divine. I will order this again.
A nice chocolate tea. I find the chocolate flavor subtle. Adding milk enhances the chocolate flavor for me.
True to its name. Unsweetened, it tastes like tea and unsweetened chocolate. Add sugar, and it tastes like tea and sweetened chocolate. Add milk, and it tastes like tea and milk chocolate (although maybe a little more bitter than one usually finds in milk chocolate).
There's just one problem: I don't like chocolate.
I am not a huge dessert tea person but this one tastes great alone or to boost up some of my favorite chai teas.
The chocolatey flavor is not too potent- it’s delightfully balanced and comes out beautifully with just a little sugar added
Not a fan. An off taste for me. Not sweet, more towards a dark chocolate flavor in my opinion.
it smells SUPER chocolaty. The taste is about what you would expect (a chocolate black tea), but I'm just not a big fan of chocolate tea. Maybe if there was a fruit element too? It wasn't terrible, but just not for me!
Good flavor, and blends so well with just about everything.
The dark chocolate flavor gets a bit lost in the Ceylon. I was expecting more from this tea. Looking at the other reviews, Adagio has some better chocolate tea offerings. I'll try those out and see if they provide the more distinct chocolate flavor that my taste buds crave.
This seemed like the perfect tea to have with cookies, and it really was! It's absolutely delightful! I highly recommend!
