Ceylon tea and rich dark chocolate flavor. Decadent chocolate liquor texture, brightened by the tang of the Ceylon.

The aroma when I first opened the packet reminded me of some unpleasant memory from my childhood which I cannot place. So clearly my reaction to this one is personal.
The taste is sweet. I wish I had saved it for dessert instead of my morning commute. It is nice, and yummy. The best chocolate tea I have tried so far in my life.
But I cannot get past my initial olfactory reaction.

This chocolate tea has a rich chocolate taste, but isn't overly flavored. the base tea is fairly smooth, with moderate astringency at the finish. Somehow this tea feels like it would be best in a blend with others, and not a favorite for me alone.

My Communitea packet had about 5 or 6 little pieces of chocolate, so I genuinely don't feel like the chocolate flavor is too mild or subtle - but that could just be the distribution I got. I really liked it, with a little cream and sugar, but I think it would make a great tea-based mocha!

Chocolate + black tea...way back in the day, when I was a Adagio newb, the idea of this combination induced a slight anxiety. How could black tea, with it's tannic, floral qualty and chocolate work together in harmony? I couldn't wrap my mind around it. However, i was brave and tried a sample tin (samples still came in tins back then. That should tell you how long ago this was!) and all the ideas I had about the Universe were completely shattered. Tea and chocolate COULD work together and in a way that is delicious!

When I discovered that today's tea was chocolate, I felt a sense of nostalgia and a bit of panick: would this tea be as yummy as I remembered?

In the packet, the aroma is BROWNIES. Sweet, lovely, holy, chocolate brownies. I could sit and sniff the packet for days. As the tea was brewing, it took on an undeniable hot chocolate/hot fudge quality on a background of tannic black tea. Waiting 3 minutes for it to finish was excruciating.

I didn't bother tasting before shoveling in the sugar (this is default when I drink black tea. It makes my purist other half crazy) and anxiously took the first sip. Lovely, delicious, sweet, dark cocoa notes with yummy citrusy black tea. I love that they chose dark chocolate over milk chocolate for this tea because the flavor just balances perfectly with black tea

Was it as I remembered? Yes, but BETTER! Guess who is getting the big bag?!

This is a nice tea with an astringent bite that is not unlike dark chocolate. It was hard to taste the chocolate flavor when the tea was hot, but it came forward a bit more as the tea cooled, and a spoonful of sugar made it more noticeable and enjoyable. This tea very similar but less flavored than Adagio's Chocolate Chip tea, which was also more enjoyable with cream and sugar. I think I liked a rebrew of than the first, so now I'm trying a cold brew to see if that brings out more flavor and less bitterness. Although I don't find a wow factor in this tea, it is a good alternative for the Chocolate Chip tea without any calories.

It's a nice tea with a good aroma, sweet and comforting like a milky hot chocolate. The tea is very slightly sweet as is, with an aftertaste of chocolate. I wouldn't call it a chocolate liquor taste or a cocoa taste, it's more of an american style chocolate bar taste. Still, nostalgic and enjoyable.

I like it but it's not enough chocolate to call it chocolate. I much prefer the chocolate chip.

More of a whisper of chocolate in this black tea.

By itself this tea is chocolate light, but smells divine. With the right creamy element this tea is perfect!

This tea tries to be chocolate but doesn’t really succeed. The cacao nibs do add something to the flavor but there aren’t enough of them to make that much of a difference. To be fair, most chocolate teas I’ve tried have the same problem with their ‘chocolate flavoring’. I would pay extra if they would start using real chocolate liqueur.

The tea smells like chocolate liquor. It is not hot chocolaTEA. And to me it has an off taste not as good as Tiger Eye which I liked a lot. Perhaps if I had this with a buttery pastry it would cut some of the “off taste” I had, but on its on it was not that great.

Absofrikkinlootley delicious. I added a wee bit of sugar and oat milk, this was such a wonderful smooth tea. I'm going to have to buy a big bag of this to have on hand

Just okay. It' tastes like tea with a hint of chocolate. I prefer the more bold chocolate taste that you find in Chocolate Truffle, Chocolate Chip and Tiger Eye.

Truly one of my favorite teas. Just the smell of it brewing in my Veloci-tea is great. Very fragrant and flavorful.

The chocolate flavor is pretty mild, and it's more of a chocolate syrup flavor than a cocoa extract flavor: more fruity and sour than nutty/roasty/hearty. Not bad, but not great. I liked it more steeped a little longer.

Pretty good! It’s a black tea with a hint of chocolate flavor. I haven’t tried the other chocolate teas from here, but I think I’m going to try another because this one wasn’t quite chocolatey enough.

Wow wow wow! If you're a chocolate lover like me, you'll love this tea! I would air on the side of less in more for steeping purposes. It's a black tea with deep chocolate notes.

This smells wonderful but loses some of the chocolate flavor once brewed. I prefer the very similar - but much better - Valentine's blend.

Great tea, I've ordered this times and many enjoy it everytime.

Prefer it black but good also with milk/sweeteners

Nice, delicate flavors of chocolate. This tea is not overpowering in flavor and makes a delicious afternoon or breakfast treat.

It's chocolate, which is always good. While I prefer chocolate truffle, this holds up well for blends.

It’s good, tastes like chocolate. I like the chocolate chip tea better though. But it’s decent.

The taste is closer to a baker's chocolate than something you'd find in the sweets aisle, but that's not unpleasant. If you want more of the dessert indulgence feel add milk and a bit of sugar.

This has a darker chocolate flavor than the chocolate truffle blend. I like the truffle version best, but if you prefer more intense flavor with a slightly bitter bite, you'll probably love this.

★★★★☆

I could barely detect the chocolate in this one as its not very strong, but add some of this to the chocolate chip or Smores and it helps boost the flavors in those

★★★★☆

A very nice, basic chocolate flavored black tea. A good base for blends.

I tried a sample of this chocolate tea over the holidays, thinking of it as more of a seasonal treat, but I was hooked. The chocolate flavor is not at all overwhelming, which made me happy. It's a round and balanced blend, and holds up well if you ice it, too.

This is good. It doesn t taste as chocolately as I was looking for but it s still good.

Very tasty. A hint of chocolate, but not too much like cocoa. I drink this 2-3 times per day, never disappoints. A grown up alternative to hot chocolate.

I love the smell of this Chocolate tea, it smells like bittersweet chocolate, and the taste does not disappoint. It leaves me feeling like I ve eaten a square of chocolate. Highly recommend!

This tea has a dark chocolate flavor that is perfect with cream. Has a slight coffee finish that is a perfect for people looking to make a switch.

great chocolate flavor, but would love it to have a fuller body. Tried it in milk but that was not so good.

★★★★☆

Very chocolatety, but if you have even a little bit too much tea steeping, it's going to be overwhelming

★★★★☆

This is good - nice chocolate flavor! Great solo and blended with other flavors. Tasted it side-by-side with the Chocolate Chip and would give that tea the nod; the Chocolate Chip has a lot more chocolate flavor. This is still good though!

My wife likes this tea. For me the second steep is OK, but the first steep has a 'black' aftertaste. (So I fix that by adding a little Tres Leches liqueur, which also helps to bring out the chocolate flavor too.) .-)
