I might have different expectation with chocolate in a black tea. It was an interesting combination, but I prefer the plain black tea.
Dark chocolate chips melt into our citrusy Ceylon black tea for the ultimate treat. Dense and soft chocolate flavor.

I might have different expectation with chocolate in a black tea. It was an interesting combination, but I prefer the plain black tea.
One of my favorite black teas. I love chocolate chips and it’s the perfect balance in a tea. One of my favorites to drink with breakfast.
I love this tea, been drinking it for ages. Lots of chocolate nibs, three different versions of nibs. The chocolate melts into the tea. Scrumptious!
Just ok, the chocolate chip flavor is very very barely there. Some of the other chocolate flavors are more pronounced.
Best of all adagio chocolate teas! This tea has the strongest chocolate flavor and is wonderful with a bit of sweetener and milk!
I love how the chocolate flavor and black tea go well together. Sometimes I mix in a hot cocoa mix too and its rather tasty in my opinion! Like a milky, black tea if it makes sense. The flavors mesh in very well to me.
this ones good. but dont steep it more than 10 minutes or it gets bitter super fast. overall its good if ya like choc
This blend has a divine and decadent chocolaty aroma with a hint of nuttiness, like chocolate chip cookies or brownies. The flavor is smooth and creamy, with a satisfying sweetness and a slight bitterness. Chocolate Chip blend is both creammier and sweeter than Chocolate blend. If you're a chocoholic, you'll go crazy for chocolate chip blend.
Soooo yummy! My 4 year old is a major fan of dark cchocolate and he loves to share this one with me
Absolutely love it. The melted chocolate pieces in the strainer probably aren't for everyone, but personally the more chocolate in my tea, the better.
One of me favorites. I often mix this with other flavors. It’s very smooth and nice. Haven’t tried it iced yet
Love the taste to drink our dessert! It definitely is good to drink and enjoy over a piece of chocolate!
This is a good sweet tea. It has more of a chocolate flavor than most others that I've tried (including the chocolate tea).
Man, I wish I liked it! It may be that chocolate teas just aren't for me anymore. For those who do like them, this has a very strong flavor, grounded in the carob. It's earthy and unmistakable, so if you're worried about weak or flavorless teas, this could be for you.
I love this chocolate tea from Adagio. To be honest I like putting Xtra coco nibs in it for a bit stronger chocolate taste but it's not necessary it stands strong on its own just fine.
It's okay. Not a huge fan of any of the Adagio chocolate teas, they all have an artificial edge to them. I can't distinguish this one from the regular Chocolate blend.
This tea is really good, and I love that it has those little chocolate chips in it. I like the decaf version just as well, or maybe even a bit more, so will probably stick with that.
Not quite as good as the chocolate truffle tea, but still a nice chocolate flavor. I'm a huge chocoholic, so I love the chocolate teas!
Very, very basic. It tastes like what it says, definitely, but I do wish that it would have given me a little bit more. Even with milk, it feels a little bit one-note to me.
Chocolate teas are a favorite of mine so I have to try them all. This tea with the chocolate chips in it really made my morning when I tried it. The chips melt and the addition of a splash of milk can elevate the experience to hot chocolate like.
I like using this tea to blend with other teas to create a slightly different taste profile to some of my standard go-to teas.Sometimes to have it as a dessert tea.The chocolate undertones are slight but using the chocolate honey in combination really bring out a nice sweetness..
My favorite chocolate tea. Nice dark chocolate flavor, I add milk and sweetener to bring out the chocolate taste.
A very nice tea, sweet chocolate flavor added a teaspoon of sugar and a splash of milksends this tea over the top. Will keep this on my go to list.
Smooth and refreshing.
Was expecting more of a chocolatey flavor. Very subtle chocolate flavor, doesn’t really tastes like chocolate chips to me.
Not too sweet, this tea has a subtle but delicious hint of chocolate and is great mixed with other teas too
Smells good. Was expecting more chocolate. I had one lonely chocolate chip. I'll need to get it some friends.
Today's CommuniTea packet is chocolate chip, made of black tea, chocolate flavor, dark chocolate chips and cocoa nibs. Chocolate tea on its own isn't a favorite, but I love cocomint, which also helps cut the caffeine. Brewed with two added teaspoons of peppermint in about 28 ounces of 190-degree water. The peppermint makes it bright and refreshing. Best drunk hot so the candy doesn't doesn't try to crystalize.
This tea smells and tastes wonderfully of chocolate, it’s a great tea to enjoy with cream and honey!
This is a great dessert tea. I steeped as directed. Nice chocolate aroma. A little weak on the chocolate flavor so I added a teaspoon of chocolate chips. They melted and added a great taste. Then I added a bit of raw sugar and a bit of frothed milk. Nice.
It's pretty good, but it can't decide whether it's a hot chocolate or a tea, and that isn't working for me as much as I would like it to. Adding cream and sugar helped.
This is one of my favorite chocolate teas from Adagio. A little cream in this one amps the deliciousness up even more by turning it into a hot chocolate like tea.
I find that the chocolate in this actually just makes it bitter although it does taste like chocolate. It is much better with sweetener or some hot chocolate mixed in.
Good choice for chocolate chip day. It was good with a little bit of bitter aftertaste.
I never ever thought I would enjoy a chocolate tea. I don't think I would have even given one a try except that it was part of my Communitea today. It is much better than I was expecting and even better when I added a bit of Adagio black tea honey. It was best after it had cooled down to room temperature. Some added chocolate honey would probably be good too!
A decent option for a chocolate dessert tea. Sipping mine as a CT portion, The Ceylon tea flavors were prominent in my cup but the only had 2 chocolate chips and no nibs so that Likely contributed to the taste
First smell, smells like chocolate, with notes of tea in the background. I guess I'm a lucky one as I received 4 chocolate chips and 2 cocoa nibs in my CommuniTEA pouch.
Steeped 3 mins @ 195
First Sip: No sweetener. Strong bitter chocolate and black tea flavors.
After Sweetener, tastes like a black tea flavored chocolate bar.
I added cream to the blend and it s good, but just too much on the chocolate for me. It really needs blending with something. So, I'll purchase this tea to add to some of my home blends as a touch of it might just be the extra kick needed for some of my brews, but to drink by itself - no thank you, I am glad I tasted it by itself so that I know what flavors it contributes to other blends I've made.
I love dark chocolate, but I'm not much into chocolate teas. I do like chocolate with some other flavors like in Irish Stout. Some of the reviews on this are a little confusing, seem like maybe the blend has changed. Smells like chocolate, chocolate taste. Would be good with milk.
Like most chocolate teas, I didn't enjoy this tea. Tasted like weak semi-sweet chocolate. I brewed this tea for 3 min @ 212.
I’ve had this tea as part of many blends but this is the first time I’ve tried the tea on its own. I was disappointed to see only one little chocolate chip in my CT packet but still found that it packs a decent dark chocolate flavor. If you let the cup cool, the last part of the cup tastes like hot chocolate! I steeped at 212 degrees for 3 minutes and added raw honey to smooth out the bitterness. I have also had good results with plant-based creamer.
This tea is o.k. It's just a bit to sweet for me for a morning tea.
This is a pretty good dessert tea, though it's not as smooth as the decaf chocolate truffle (my gold-standard). If I didn't have any DCT on hand, though, this would certainly do. Steeped 3 min @ 190º.
The taste of rich, semi bitter dark chocolate. I'm all in! Black tea seems to intensify the chocolate profile. However, this tea is better in a blend than on its own. It packs quite a punch as it is, and is a bit one dimensional. Throwing off notes of cocoa and one of those big Lindt bars, I enjoyed the tea with no sweeteners; but I can see how other tea drinkers might need to tame it down.
In the bag: Mostly just the black tea leaves. A few cocoa nibs scattered throughout. I don't see any chocolate chips.
On the nose (pre-steep): 100% chocolate. I get notes of both milk chocolate and dark chocolate. Nothing else. Medium intensity.
On the nose (post-steep): Smells exactly like hot chocolate, complete with milk. A bit of black tea scent beneath. Medium intensity and complexity.
On the tongue (pre-sweetener): The beginning of the sip brings hot chocolate notes to the tip of my tongue. As the sip matures, they give way to a more straightforward, bitter black tea flavor on the sides and back of my tongue. Less intense.
On the tongue (post-sweetener): No change.
Opinion: A pleasant tea for those of us who like flavored blacks. As with most teas of this style, the additive flavors are more intense on the nose than on the tongue. Loved the hot chocolate notes and would have appreciated more of them.
Preparation: 3 min @ 195 ℉, ½ tsp monk fruit sweetener
Even though the chocolate chip smells so divine I do not really like the flavors I could also do without this tea
I have no idea why I’ve never reviewed this tea before. I’ve had it numerous times over the years, but I’m not a fan unless it’s hot. I’m also not a huge chocolate fan, but my husband loves this tea.
Not too bad! I was anticipating weak chocolate flavored water. This tea was much more robust than that!
This tea is a fantastic treat! It smells so good and has a decadent chocolate flavor to it. Will definitely order again!
I love chocolate, and I love chocolate teas, and while I think chocolate truffle is my favorite take on it from Adagio, this one is also excellent. On the spectrum of chocolate, it lands between dark and milk, allowing you to alter the flavor a bit more one way or the other as it suits your mood with honey and/or milk. Highly recommend to all my fellow chocolate lovers!
Didn't think I was going to like this tea, and continued to surprise myself every time I reached for my mug and found it empty.. This tea's chocolate notes do not hit you over the head. The chocolate flavor sneaks up on you by blending almost seemlessly into the tea flavor. While the chocolate didn't come through in a latte, I didn't try it with that in mind, so I'm not disappointed.
