It's great on its own or blended with other teas (I love it with Tiger Eye!). It's not too watery of a chocolate flavor like some chocolate teas I've tried. Just needs a small bit of sugar and it's great to go!

★★★☆☆

I thought I would love this, as I'm a chocoholic, but it was only ok to me.

★★★★★

This is another tea I like to use to blend with other teas. Any tea that I want to add a rich chocolate flavor too I add a 1/2=1 tsp of this as I tend to have larger cups of tea and like my tea darker. It's delicious to add a chocolately depth or if you want a tea that has chocolate to be richer.

★★★★★

This is one of my favorite Adagio teas. I love how the chocolate chips melt into the black tea flavor. A delicious cup for both chocolate and tea lovers alike.

Thudding some milk and honey to this tea made it taste exactly like a cookie!

★★★★★

This tea has a good balance of tea and chocolate flavor. it's definitely a chocolatey tea and not a weak hot chocolate.

★★★★★

I am not a tea connoisseur, but I adore sweets and this tea was perfect for me. I love the chocolate aroma from the bag and in the cup. With some sweetener and maybe some cream, it tastes very nearly like hot cocoa. I do tend to like teas that some other reviewers deem 'artificial,' so if that's a complaint of yours, you it may not be a good fit for you. But it is right up my alley.

I do make it at the office using the hot water tap in the water cooler, and I haven't noticed any bitterness. Maybe the chocolate flavor doesn't hold up to steeping the tea properly in boiling water?

★★★★☆

Pretty good mixed with some sugar, very citrusy from the Ceylon

★★★★★

Has a nice hint of chocolate, without overpowering the flavor of the tea. Love this tea. have it frequently

★★★★★

I got this as a free sample and both my husband and I drank about a pot of it each! It hit my chocolate craving just right and I knew it would be great just from the aroma the second the hot water hit the tea. MMM. I didn't find it bitter at all and I did kind of forget I was drinking a tea. I am new to being a tea aficionado, and as a recently diagnosed diabetic, I like having teas that can help me with sweet cravings and are better for me than sodas. I wonder now how it may taste with a touch of cream. I am excited to try!

Some of Adagio's flavored teas taste artificial, so I was really hoping this would be a 'natural' tasting chocolate. Artificial strawberry can be good, but artificial chocolate is awful in every incarnation. When I opened the bag, I was almost overwhelmed by the strong smell of real dark chocolate, and I had high hopes for this tea. Unfortunately, it didn't hold up through the steeping. The strong chocolate smell almost completely disappeared, leaving a very mild (and yes, artificial) chocolate taste. I guess my expectations were set too high. Unlike hot chocolate, this tea isn't something I would choose to drink on its own. Good for blending, but disappointing as a stand-alone tea.

★★★★★

I love this tea. I bought it to mix with the chocolate and strawberry teas. Makes a great chocolate covered strawberry tea blend!

★★★★☆

I was pleasantly surprised when I first tasted this tea. It accompanies an afternoon snack nicely.

★★★★★

This smells mouth-watering in the bag, and BOY did it live up to that first impression. So sweet and fragrant without the need for even a pinch of sugar on my end. I'm super excited to purchase some more and mix in some peppermint inclusions for that chocolaty/minty taste.

★★★★☆

I was initially suspicious about a chocolate tea, but the choc flavor isn't sweet. Instead it was closer to a dark chocolate flavor and sits in the background mixing well with the black tea flavor. Not an every day tea, but a good one to mix in occasionally.

★★★★☆

Good tea. I prefer it mixed with something else. Have tried mixing with cream and candy cane and they were awesome. Going to try to mix with caramel next :)

★★★★☆

Love this with a little mint creamer in the mornings. Perfect wake-me-up.

★★★★★

This is my new favorite dessert. I'm not a huge sweets or chocolate fan by any means, but this really hits the spot. Its just the right amount of sweet, creamy chocolate-y-ness, and I find it delicious as an after dinner treat!

★★★★☆

The chocolate flavor is strog and smooth, and I like to mix this flavor with the Cream flavor to make a nice hot chocolate flavor.

★★★★★

great chocolate flavor. tried it with a little cream and stevia sweetener. very nice.

The chocolate chip flavor that comes through is a genuine, subtle flavor, not fake or overly powerful.

I got this tea with the intention of using cream and sugar as a desert tea. As an alternative to an 800 calorie piece of cake, I would recommend this if you like the chocolate flavor. If your expecting a chocolate bar, its not, lol. This tea would be more interesting blended with a vanilla or hazelnut tea, for my taste buds at least. Good thing with loose leaf, that's not a problem at all. This is a perfect 'desert tea' base for mixing purposes. The possibilities are endless. For those of us with a sweet tooth, but don't want to spend extra calories to eat cake or ice cream.

★★★★☆

Chocolate and tea is always a good combination. Chocolate Chip doesn't disappoint.

Just like the cookie! Well not quite because I'd prefer the cookie to this. Maybe both at the same time?

★★★★★

This is by far my favorite Adagio tea. It's a great coffee substitute with its nutty chocolate notes.I bought this as a sample before and loved it. Got the 3 ounce bag and went through it in a matter of weeks. I need to buy more immediately.

A great black tea which satisfies my sweet tooth like no other tea has.

★★★★☆

This tea is a fairly good standalone chocolate tea, but it's very good mixed with other flavored black teas.

★★★☆☆

I had a resounding 'meh' reaction to this tea. There's hardly any chocolate taste, and it has the same unpleasant bitter aftertaste that I've noticed with the regular chocolate black tea. It's drinkable, but it's very much nothing special. I'm much more fond of milk chocolate than dark chocolate, though, which I expect definitely plays a role in my reaction to this tea.

★★★★★

This is hands down one of my favorite teas to drink, especially with a little bit of milk. Tastes pretty similar to chocolate milk, but much healthier and cheaper.

★★★☆☆

This tea is alright. I tried it once on its own and it seemed too bitter, then I just tried it again mixed with currant tea and it just made that bitter too. Not too bad with a little extra sugar, but definitely not my favorite. 3/5, would drink again but would not buy again.

Definitely fills that chocolate craving! Smells amazing and tastes even better

★★★☆☆

I liked this tea, but it did not have enough of a chocolate taste for me. When I made this tea, it kind of tasted like a tootsie roll. I added some milk and rock sugar to this.

★★★★☆

Doesn't quite blend the way I had imagined, more just a plain black with sugar built in, hard to taste the chocolate chips.

★★★★★

This could easily become my new favorite. Just enough chocolate to make it interesting.

★★★★☆

I hesitated on ordering this one because of the reviews, but it was a pleasant surprise. The chocolate flavor is nicely balanced with the black tea. I'm sure it would taste even better with some milk as some suggested. But, on its own, it's a nice way to curb the chocolate cravings.

★★★★★

For both blending and drinking alone, this is a better chocolate than the Chocolate black tea Adagio offers. It's good enough on it's own for sugar-fiends like me, but I really love mixing it about half-and-half with the Candy Cane tea.

★★★★★

My new favorite tea! Very delicious chocolate tea without being too sweet. It satisfies your craving for dessert without all the calories. It's very soothing as well. I drink a few cups of this a day and LOVE it!

★★★★★

This tea is delicious! When I first opened the bag it smelled lovely--just like chocolate!

★★★★☆

Sweeter and milder than the regular Chocolate tea. It's like drinking hot chocolate, of course with a slightly different texture!

★★★☆☆

real chocolate chips give a slight chocolate taste not very strong however

★★★☆☆

The flavor I was expecting didn't quite come through, I got more of a dark chocolate flavor.

I love this tea! It's a great after-dinner or before bed 'sweet' treat. I highly recommend.

★★★☆☆

Based on other reviews, I was thinking/hoping this would have more chocolate flavor. It is fine, and you definitely get a hint of it, but I was hoping for something more chocolatey.

★★★★☆

A pretty standard black tea taste with just a hint of chocolate flavor. I honestly was expecting the chocolate flavor to be quite a bit stronger. I enjoyed it, but will probably not rush out to buy more.

★★★★☆

It's a very lovely tea, but the chocolate flavor wasn't as much as I was expecting.

I like this tea, but for me, the chocolate flavor isn't quite strong enough. That's probably just personal taste though, and I do enjoy the tea.

★★★★★

Oh wow. I got this mostly for blending and didn't know how I'd really feel about it straight. It was great. The amount of flavor was just right. I used just a pinch of sugar and a teaspoon of cream and got a fabulous cup of tea. Update: I also tried the Chocolate flavor, and Chocolate Chip is better by leaps and bounds. Update again: try this with Bailey's white chocolate peppermint bark coffee creamer. OMG.

This smells heavenly in the tin, but loses most of the lovely chocolate aroma when brewed. It's still there, if you close your eyes and inhale slowly, thinking about it and just enjoying the warmth of the tea. I think this blend is much more about the entire experience than about a burst of chocolate like I expected at first. It's a great tea for learning the complexities of a blend, because each sip is a little different.

★★★★☆

When I opened the package, it instantly reminded me of when my Nonno would smoke his chocolate flavored cigars and I've always liked that smell. When brewed, it has a nice chocolaty taste too.

This was a decent tea. Beautiful in odor profile, but very lacking in flavor. We were hoping for a very chocolatey flavor, but the black tea overpowered it. It seems weak no matter how long you steep it. We would not recommend this tea. it just does not live up to expectation.
