I am not much a fan of black teas that are too strong and have too much of an astringent bite to them, and since this tea has a Ceylon base — a tea where I often have that issue — I was prepared for that. Hah! As far as I’m concerned, this is the sweetest, mintiest tea I have ever tasted! It tastes like getting a high dosage of those little peppermint candy freebies left out at the counter at restaurants in liquid form… every sip leaves that brisk, cooling minty sensation on the tongue. If you like peppermint, this is the tea for you! It is super minty and super sweet! For me, it was just a bit… too overwhelming. It wasn’t… bad, but it just felt like the flavoring was absolutely dominating the cup. I enjoy someone telling me “Merry Christmas,” with a smile on their face, but if they get right in my face and scream it at the top of their lungs, then it is just too much, you know? Then it gets annoying. And that’s what I felt like this tea was doing.

Since I usually will make an “extra-strong” brew when I want to latte a tea, so the flavor notes will shine through after adding the milk, I figured this tea would be a good candidate, as it already had such a strong flavor. So I decided to froth up some hot chocolate almond milk, and try it in a minty cocoa form. Now that was quite nice! It gave it a sort of of chocolate-mint appeal, the milk cut down on some of the overwhelming mintiness just a bit, the flavor was enough a normal brew worked great for a latte, and it had a lovely creaminess. It made for a great hot cuppa on a wintery day. Sipping this down latte-style using chocolate almond milk became my go-to, and it was very nice!

This tea has a slight creaminess with the peppermint flavor, perfect for a cold winter morning.

Nice mint flavor. Great for cold nights and great for when you have a cold.

first half of the cup was great, but near the end the peppermint became really overpowering. maybe ill try a shorter steep next time

A real favorite! Great peppermint taste and pretty to look at!

I was anxiously waiting for this tea because it was sold out for awhile! It definitely lived up to my expectations. A very smooth and flavor filled cup of tea. It isn't overwhelmingly minty like I expected. It has a rich and almost nutty flavor, and some cool vanilla notes. A great holiday tea!

This is a very nice variation on a mint tea. It has a creamy taste. One of the small boutique tea shops near my house sells a white chocolate and mint tea that I love. This has that same taste without the chocolate in it and the cost. This will become a staple in my tea cabinet!

A nice holiday tea that is more complex in flavor than expected. Not an everyday tea for me, but perfect as a hot winter treat.

Not necessarily my favorite, but it's definitely still good.

A great dessert type tea, but not the lighter peppermint tea that I can drink an entire pot of. I was good after a small cup of this. Very good!

This is very candy cane in flavor perfect for the Christmas season. I got multiple infusions and sometimes used sugar sometimes not.

Hands down, best flavored seasonal tea ever! Luscious blend of mint and vanilla. Perfect every time!

Not a bad tea. I love to drink ice tea - this may not be the right tea. Makes a better hot tea.

I love this tea! Is it fun and relaxing at the same time and has the great taste of candy canes.

This was a refreashing tea. The peppermint flavor for this tea was a little too much for me, but I introduced it to my students and they loved it.

A very interesting and unusual taste. The candy cane is very accented, but what surprises me is the aftertaste that feels minty and cool.

Surprisingly delightful tea. Smooth vanilla upfront with a perfect peppermint lingering aftertaste. Purchased on a whim for Christmas, but it would be an excellent on any cold / snowy night.

I'm giving this 5 stars because I really love mint everything. I thought this had a pleasant mint taste and was slightly sweet, but not cloying.

Typically I avoid peppermint teas. They usually have an “antiseptic” taste. I was looking for a Christmas tea and bought a sampler of Candy Cane. The black tea base allows the peppermint to subtly shine and not dominant. Great with desserts!

Love this for the Christmas season, or really any time. The peppermint taste isn't overpowering, but wish it was a little bit stronger.

Gave this as a gift for Christmas. A fun flavor to celebrate the holidays.

I recently brought 4 packages of the Candy Cane tea bags. I've used two packages and each of the tea bags broke and left tea leaves in the bottom of the cup. I love the tea and this has never happened before. Who ever makes the tea bags is doing a bad job. I hope this doesn't continue.

I got this in the hope that it would be like the candy cane tea I bought in a shop in Alexandria. It isnt. It has a weird aftertaste that I can't quite identify but it isn't mint.

This is pretty tasty; I've been making it into lattes with a chocolate protein drink. Would have been 5 stars but I wish there was a bit more peppermint flavor in the tea.

A really great holiday tea! There are pieces of candy cane throughout. You can still taste the black tea and the peppermint is not overwhelming.

I love this tea with all my heart. It is sweet, with a vanilla-peppermint flavor that speaks o its name, and it is incredibly smooth with no bitterness. I have been drinking it in the mornings and it makes my day.

OBSESSED. This is the holidays in a cup. Perfect even without milk. I brew at a lower temp (190) as i'm very sensitive to bitterness.

I am new to Adagio Teas and this was my first chosen tea to start with. 3 amber sugar crystals and a splash of Almond Milk and it is Magical!

Although the smell of the dry tea was outputting, steeped it was a good balance of peppermint, vanilla, and tea flavors.

I'm one of those that can't wait for candy cane mochas and ice cream to come in season. This, with a spot of milk, is right up there.
