So I've now had this as a portion in the Communitea and as a sample in the Halloween tea sample set. For those who wanted it a bit sweeter, the halloween sample set had red sugar crystals in it. As I don't like my teas sweetened, normally, I find myself preferring this take.
I may have oversteeped it a bit, but this time what I got was predominantly the black tea notes, with an aroma of apple and cinnamon. This is an absentminded tea, one I can drink without paying too much attention to it, but will enjoy while I'm sipping.

Tea is good. I added cream and it reminded me more of a caramel apple than a candy apple.

Wasn't sure what to expect from this CommunitTea sample. Was I going to get red candy apple or caramel apple? Surprise! It tasted a bit of both. Nice apple flavor mixed with dark caramelized sugars and a slight red candy twang. Flavorful and just enough sweetness to satisfy a desire for something sweet even when drinking it plain.

This tea is good. The apple flavor is a little abrasive, but the caramel? is so nice!!!

I enjoyed this one iced. It was unique. Just slightly tart.

I'm a fan of spice teas, of apple flavors, and of caramel, and of black tea... so I expected to enjoy this blend, and I was not disappointed. I didn't feel like it needed any sweetener. Brewed for 3 min at 200F resulted in a slightly sweet, smooth brew with a lovely after-flavor of apple with cinnamon. Delightful. I'm tempted to buy a whole bag.

Nice blend of tea, could of been my imagination but I thought I was tasting a hint of cinnamon.

Taste the sweet, candy; however, not the apple. Brewed at 195 for 4 minutes.

There was 1 apple piece in my CT sample. The scent from the packet was sweet with a faintness of cinnamon. I brewed at 195 for 3 mins. I didn't get much apple taste but this tea was smooth and enjoyable.

I like a good black tea served plain with no sugar or cream . I was expecting it to be real sweet and fruity but my mind was thinking of red candy. Actually , the caramel smoothed out the tea and the apple was subtle . I did steep it a little below what was recommended to keep the astringency down and pull out the caramdl

This is good apple tea with caramel and lots of spice (212 @ 3 min), great job!

This tea is good but a little underwhelming. I was expecting it to be a little punchier and tangy but that's on me. Nothing in the cup really 'speaks' to me.

I didn’t care for this tea. It’s bitter and has no real discernible apple flavor. I wouldn’t have this tea again.

This tea brews up with a nice strong apple flavor, but it was a bit astringent for my tastes. Perhaps it would be better with some sweetener.

Dry tea smells of caramel and apple. Once brewed, the resulting cup is a medium brown with a similar scent. When hot, moderate caramel/candy and apple notes are detectable. When warm, the flavors meld together nicely, tasting much like a candy or caramel apple. I find that the caramel-flavored tea has more of an actual caramel flavor to it than candy apple, which has a sweeter tone to it, and focuses more on the apple than the caramel. This is quite a fun flavor combination, and the black tea does not get too bitter when brewed at a slightly lower temperature. Brewed at 200 for 3 minutes.

This is such a great fall treat! What a sweet, caramel-y treat, with a touch of apple flavor all mixed in with a delicious black tea base. I like that it isn’t filled with spices, just a nice buttery caramel flavor.

The sweet scent of caramel apples emanated out of the packet as it opened. An abbreviated black tea steep for 3 minutes at 212°F created a rich amber brown tea.
Caramel apple flavors permeated each sip. Plenty of both semi-sweet and slightly tart apple was present alongside caramelized flavor notes with a hint of maple. The black tea provided the bass notes with mild levels of tannins and a slight astringency on the finish.
This one was perfect for a windy and rainy fall afternoon tea.

subtle and sweet, I don't get 'apple' from this. This reminds me more of a chewy caramel candy than a candy apple. Not bad in its own right, but not what I'd reach for if aiming for that apple flavor.

Smooth and sweet, one of the few teas I preferred more with sweetener! Definitely tastes like a caramel apple, not a candy apple, but maybe it's a terminology thing. Maybe all caramel apples are candy apples, but not all candy apples are caramel apples? Ah whatever, at least the tea is good!

This tea smells very strongly of apples, but the apple is upstaged by the caramel in the taste. Deliciously smooth and not at all bitter- a very good cup!

This one is just middle of the road for me. Nothing great and nothing terrible about it. The apple flavor is very mild, the caramel tastes mor like maple and there’s almost a burnt or smoky aftertaste to the tea, especially as it cools. This blend is simply just ok.

I tried this tea as part of the CommuniTEA. To me, it had an artificial apple scent and a nondescript sweet flavor. Nope, not a tea for me.

Sipping along with the CommuniTEA: Strong sugary 'candy' apple with cinnamon fragrance wafting from the dry ingredients and packet. Once steeped for 3 mins at 190° F, I notice honey black tea notes along with cinnamon from my cup. When I take a sip, the cinnamon candy apple flavors are subtle, but present. I actually like this tea because the flavors are not overwhelming. Black tea tannins do a good job of mimicking the tart of the apple. The cinnamon candied/tart apple nuances linger long on the palate.

A pretty good apple tea. It's on the astringent side so a bit of sweetener helps. I wouldn't quite call this candy apple, but still pretty good!

I taste the caramel, but the black tea overpowers the apple. I like Sour Apple a lot more - they might mix well? Or just add caramel tea to sour apple.

The Andrea doesn't taste candy apple with this one. The Andrea does get plenty of black tea here. The Andrea says Adagio, do something with this tea. Can you smell what the Andrea is brewing? (Disclaimer: no rear ends were kicked during the making of this review.)

This tastes exactly like the outer shell of a candy apple with warm cinnamon apples. The tea itself is not tannic and pretty mild.

I was excited to try this tea again. I didn't like it the first time. I am not really an apple tea fan, but this one isn't too bad. I added a touch of honey and really enjoyed this caramel apple tea!

The black tea was very flavorful with just the right amount of astringency and no bitterness. A mild apple flavor came through, and just a touch of sweetness. I didn't really get the candy apple vibe, but it still tasted good with its solid amount of cinnamon flavor.

This is a lovely, light treat for a flavored black! I was really surprised at its consistency in the cup. It absolutely evokes the candy apple vibe, especially with some sweetener added. This would be a perfect sip for when you want a dessert but don’t want the calories. The blend is also just pure fun, like you are a kid again, and teas like that always make me smile. This is a great seasonal sip for the fall months as I get carnival vibes. Drink this and imagine you are at a ring toss booth with your sweetie! Happy Sipping!

The taste of this blend is like black tea with apple flavored jolly ranchers! There's definitely a candy taste to it. The cinnamon is not strong, which seems right for a candy apple blend. Steeped at the recommended time and temperature, it's a bit too tannic for my liking. I would try steeping at a lower temperature than 212 degrees, and not for too long! (I only steeped 3 min).

CommuniTEA Sample: Overall a decent flavored tea, but not too strong on the caramel. It's mostly like a light black tea with some apple flavoring. As the tea cools, I can taste more of the caramel in the background, but it is not up front.

I could taste the slight apple flavor at first taste and then i added sugar and the Carmel flavor came alive. I then added some half and half and it seemed to tone down the black tea strength and make for a very enjoyable flavor. To me it really has flavors of a Candy Apple!

25 Oct 20 communiTEA review: When I opened my CommuniTEA packet, I was immediately greeted with caramel and black tea aromas.
When hot, very astringent tastes were present until I added some sugar. At this point mild caramel flavors were noted. I added enough half & half creamer to bring the color up to caramel level. Carmel flavors intensified with no astringency. When warm, mild tart flavors of green apples were noted along with moderately sweet tastes of caramel. I think the combination of the tea and added flavoring produced an apple flavor. It took a little doin’, but I think I gots a Granny Smith caramel apple rights here in front of me! It was hanging out in my tea mug just show off! This was a well blended and very pleasant autumn sip. (4 mins @ 190ºF, 1/2 tsp sugar, 1/2 tsp half & half)

Haiku update:
Evokes sensations
Peeling off the cellophane
With sticky fingers
Holding the wood stick
Figuring out where to start
So good, but messy!
Saving it for home
To not embarrass yourself
Buy it for later
No worries though now
All of that, without all that
In a cup of tea
The tea name's tricky
Think a caramel apple
Not red hard candy
To be honest, though
I much prefer caramel
So it is all good!
Old review: Sweet and fruity. Did brew at a slightly lower temp, as suggested by another. Enjoyed it plain :)

For me, this was a little heavy on the candy (sweet) and a little light on the apple flavor. Nice, strong black tea flavor -- that's how I prefer it. But, the caramel-ish sweet flavor was a bit much for me.
10/26/2021 - I changed my mind on this tea. While I still only note a little apple flavor (mostly after it cools a bit) the sweet mix of caramel with maple notes is really tasty. I will just assume my apple got double dipped in caramel. After all it's not about the apple...but about the candy part, right? :) 2 grams tea, 212F, 3 minutes. Lovely cup of tea!

CommuniTEA packet tasting, this tea reminds me of my dear, late grandmother’s apple cake. She would’ve served it with a cup of Irish Breakfast. This is my favorite Adagio apple tea. Happy sipping!

It's a good apple tea, though I'd say it's more reminiscent of an apple pie rather than a candy apple. The caramel and cinnamon pair nicely with the apple flavor, though altigether it was a subtle taste than what I'd expect from it.

Delicious sweet apple tea with some caramel flavor and a light touch of cinnamon. It’s natural sweetness is perfect for sweet tooths like me and a honey add makes this cuppa truly decadent bringing out more of that candy apple goodness.
My CT packet has 3 g/ 3 tsp. of dark tea leaves, cinnamon bits and apple pieces, enough to brew 16 oz. at 200*F for 3 min. The liquor is a nice dark caramel color with an apple scent. No bitterness is detected and any astringency is nicely masked by the cinnamon. A resteep of 8oz. is very flavorful too. Boy, this is tasty! I enjoy apple teas and this one is already a favorite.
