Not a fan of this one. Seemed overly sweet and bitter. I tried re-steeping for less time and it didn’t make a difference at all. Too bad.
Black Forest Cake tea is our take on the classic dessert with rich chocolate and cherry liqueur and a touch of creme. A divine indulgence!

Not a fan of this one. Seemed overly sweet and bitter. I tried re-steeping for less time and it didn’t make a difference at all. Too bad.
I wanted to steep this one for longer, so that the cherry flavor had a chance to infuse, but I didn't want to scorch my tea leaves, by steeping at 212°F. I put one big dried cherry, in my 2tsps. in my tea ball. And there were plenty of chocolate chips in that 2tsps., too! The aroma was so wonderful! It smelled like I had taken a fresh Black Forest Cake, straight out of the oven! And the taste? So exquisite! I'm not usually one for cherry flavored things, but I will make an exception for Black Forest Cake. This tea, did not disappoint! It is absolutely delicious!
Rich and chocolatey. Good hot with some cream. It's a nice dessert tea. I don't know if I would like it every day, but it's a nice treat.
This is a nice enough tea, but I find it does not have a strong personality. It is just a good tea, but not as much of a chocolate flavor as chocolate truffle.
Lovely aroma when you open the bag. There aren't too many pieces in the 3oz. bag other than the black tea itself. I was a little worried that the cherry and chocolate flavor wouldn't be there. Black tea is known to be strong by itself. I steeped this for exactly the amount of mins the bag said too. I think the 3 mins was perfect for my palette. I was also very impressed how much the chocolate and cherry flavors came through, especially for the little amount of chocolate chips and cherry pieces.
The best part for me was that the cherry flavor wasn't medicinal. I didn't feel like I was sucking on a cherry cough drop. Natural real cherry taste.
The flavors in this tea are fantastic - strong and delicious! With just a little bit of sugar it really does feel.as though you are drinking a decadent dessert.
I don't normally like sweet teas but this one has proven to be the exception. its a great balance of sweet while still feeling a proper cup of tea and I know i'll be happy to purchase again over and over.
This smells really good. Almost like Cherry Pepsi, or Dr Pepper, maybe? I had high hopes, but all I could taste was the cherry. Not a bad tea at all, but I would’ve preferred more chocolate flavor.
I was a little hesitant at first with this one since chocolate and tea is usually my thing, but I liked it. It had a decent flavor and didn't need much added sweetener. I do wish that the creme flavor was a bit more forward though.
Not my favorite. Aside from the chocolate it really reminded me nothing of black forest cake. Wasn't a bad tea, but was not as dessert-like as I had hopes
I was so happy this cherry forward smelling tea wasn't intense upon steeping. Hopefully some cream in my second steep will pull the chocolate forward more. As it stands, straight up it is a decent cup of tea.
Perfect dessert tea and for chocolate lovers. Deep notes dance on your tongue and take you to a place. A nice way to begin or end your day.
Chocolate-y with a nice cherry flavor, the cocoa nibs really come through!
a really delicious black tea - i like it especially with half and half. It isn't too sweet but just enough to bring a delicious flavor to the black tea.
This one, to me, has a nice mellow taste which is exactly what I was looking for.
I have ordered some Christmas teas for my friends and me myself. like the tea. FlavorY. This tea is the first time ordered.
Reminds me of home, without the Kirschwasser though!
I enjoy it mostly with half and half and hot. I definately can recommend!
Rich chocolate and cherry together - dessert in a cup. A naturally sweet tea, wonderfully pleasant with a cookie. Probably amazing with milk.
I like this but not love. Has to much of a cherry liquor flavor that I’m not huge fan of.
Did not like the chocolate flavor for this tea. The aftertaste was not pleasant, and the cherry was not as strong as I would have liked.
Another delicious chocolate cherry tea. The chocolate chips were abundant, but for some reason the cherry flavor was much more prominent.
It really does taste like Black Forest Cake :)
I think you need to explore how strong you want it, but I used one and a haf tea-spoons to one 16 Oz Ingenuitea 2, and it's lovely. I've always enjoyed Adagio's chocolate teas, they're one of the few brands that don't make it taste like bad coffee, and the chocolate makes the cherry taste come out. I had it with and without milk - both taste really good, but if you have it with milk, brew it a bit stronger!
The tea is like drinking a piece of cake with a warm cup of black tea. I like to add a hint of cream to give it a heavy feel and enhance the Black Forest cake flavor
Steeping is quite tempermental and the chocolate flavors are overwhelmed by mediocre black tea and a rather ‘meh’ cherry flavor that can quickly bitter.
This is a great dessert tea, perfect to sip on after dinner. It's sweet but not too sweet, not does it taste artificial. The chocolate flavor is strong, but not overpowering, while the cherry flavor is more subtle.
A little rich for my taste and a little heavier on the cherry notes but it’s a good sweet treat for those looking for a chocolate cherry-type drink. Delicious just not for me! Would absolutely recommend though.
Enjoyed this tea for a “sweet” treat! The aroma is rich cherry chocolate - and the flavor a sweetened black tea.
Kinda not a fan myself. I didn't find it living up to its name, and once it finished steeping it lost a bit of flavor. Good to try, but not one of my staples.
Yummy dessert tea that tastes like chocolate cake! Little bit of cream and sugar makes this superb!!
I loved this, it had a really nice flavor to it and I had to add it to my collection. It definitely tastes like cake.
My kids and I have tea time every afternoon with friends for school. They loved this one. With chocolate, how can you go wrong ;)
One of the better flavored black teas I've had, as it doesn't just taste like black tea with a hint of something in the background. It's somehow both smooth and mildly astringent at the same time.
I am so delighted that I ordered a sample of this tea. It is absolutely decadent and one that I will definitely reorder. You can really taste the chocolate and the cherries. I prepare mine with a bit of sugar and a dash of creamer for the perfect mid day treat.
This tea goes very well with milk and a lil sweetener. It comes in with the black tea flavor and theres hints of chocolate and cherry, somewhat creamy and smooth, sweetness on the end. After a few sips the taste left on your lip really embodies a black forest cake. It's very sweet. Similar to that experience you would get after licking your lips following smoking a cigar. Very nice tea.
Have to say I love this tea. For all my teas I like to try them both hot/steeping and cold brew. This tea does very well for both. I am definitely partial to chocolate/Cacao flavors in my teas, and this one does not disappoint. I do like the Chocolate Truffle a bit more than this one, but they are both excellent.
This tea was so yummy. It’s like having dessert in a cup of tea. I would recommend trying this if you like something a lil sweet!
A new favorite! Cherry, chocolate, and tea, what's not to love in this full bodied blend? It really does evoke a black forest cake flavor. I prefer it with oat milk for a decadent cake and ice cream effect.
This one is delicious, but not a fav. I'm trying to experiment with it to get it just right. Still a good tea. I believe it's not bitter if I steep it for less time.
Was sceptical about this one at first but this came out surprisingly good
Delicious! Definitely lives up to its description. The cherry flavor is relatively subtle, but it's in there, and becomes more noticable as the tea cools. I wouldn't say it's exactly like drinking cake, but it's probably about as close as tea can reasonably get. Chocolate cherry is such a great flavor combo and it works great with the tea itself.
They weren't kidding about the 'cake' part! Very chocolatey, and adding some sweetener and milk really brings out the cherry and 'cakey' flavors of this tea. A very delicious dessert tea, I think I need to order more than just the sample size next time!
Overall really tasty! With any of the cherry blends you have to be careful not to overbrew. Definitely set a timer so you don't forget!
Rich, sweet, and chocolatey, but I personally dislike the cherry flavor and scent, which seems overly strong to me.
I was mid way through my initial sample 3 ounce pouch before I realized hey, I kinda like this. So I ordered it again and still feel that way. Rose dominates but I can also detect cherry and chocolate. Nice work day tea.
Tastes pretty good but not my first choice to reach for.
I was looking forward to this tea, because I really like the Adagio Tiger Eye Tea. What I found disappointing, at least for me, is that it is sour, and while it might be fine for others, this was my finding.
The cherry flavor comes out very strong, especially when the tea is just brewed and still hot. I would have loved to taste a bit more of the chocolate.
This is one of my new favorites. It has a wonderful chocolate flavor with a hint of cherry. I drink it in place of dessert!
Excellent dark chocolate flavor, could do with more cherry. It's there but I'd like a little more. Of course, I feel the same way about cherry marzipan (tea). I like to remedy this by buying some dried cherries and adding them to the tea myself.
not a favorite for sure, just ok, the cherry flavor tastes so artificial and not great, would not buy again
