Don't get me wrong I enjoy a bitter dark chocolate from time to time, but the bitter black tea just didn't satisfy my guests at the tea party...
Black Forest Cake tea is our take on the classic dessert with rich chocolate and cherry liqueur and a touch of creme. A divine indulgence!

Don't get me wrong I enjoy a bitter dark chocolate from time to time, but the bitter black tea just didn't satisfy my guests at the tea party...
This one was good but I expected more flavor .. more complexity
This is delicious and makes me feel like I’m having a dessert treat without the calories
actually liked this one. and im usually not a hige cherry person. so i was surprosed i liked this blend
This is like a dessert in a cup. I actually brought this to work as a treat to myself when an afternoon really seems to drag. Highly recommend
Wonderful combination! I love odea of chocolate chips and have never experienced a tea so dessert like. My new favorite!
Honestly wasn’t a fan of this one. The cocoa overpowers any cherry flavor. It’s much better with creamer though.
This was just ok for me. I’m not big on chocolate cherry anything to tell the truth but has to give the tea a try. I imagine most people will really enjoy this. It has big chunks of dried cherries and smells nice. It just wouldn’t be my first choice.
Love the flavors. Chocolate with cherry is amazing in anything g but add it to tea and it’s over the top good. Will buy again
There is definitely a cherry flavor in this tea which reminds me of the cherry flavor in the cake. It isn't my favorite. But I can enjoy drinking it occasionally.
This tea smells amazing, but I don't love the intensity of the dark chocolate and cherry. Maybe use a little less for a less-bitter taste.
This is a delicious tea! The chocolate flavor is great and I really enjoyed it. I steeped it at 195 for 3 minutes. I would very happily have this again. I highly recommend it if you haven’t tried it yet.
This is a great dessert tea. It takes just like black forest cake. I enjoyed with a little honey.
Honestly, I'm not that fond of Adagio's cherry flavoring. This one would be more enjoyable if the flavor had an increased volume of dried fruit and less reliance on the cherry flavor additive. It is still a very good cherry chocolate tea if you don't mind that slightly artificial cherry flavor.
This is probably the most chocolatey chocolate tea I’ve had.
Chocolate cherry goodness in tea form. Straight, the chocolate is dark, a hint bitter and decadent. Cherry flavor peaks through toward the end of each sip. My cup of tea dissappeared quickly and this one was gone before I could try it cooled.
A decent chocolate dessert tea, but the cherry notes that I did get were extremely faint and almost tasted of cough-syrup. I'm already not a huge fan of cherry, so the artificial cherry flavor put me off a bit, but the flavor also wasn't very strong so I was able to drink the cup without issue. I personally wouldn't pick this again, but I do think it's worth a try if you're a general fan of sweeter teas.
A good tasting chocolate tea with a hint of cherry flavor. I added a bit of sweetener to bring out the flavors more.
CommuniTEA Sample: Notes of chocolate and black tea, but didn’t get much cherry at all. I don’t think I had one in my packet. Not a big of the non-dairy chocolate flavor, but completely understand why it is used. Not a bad tea at all, just not my favorite.
Strong cherry smell and without cream or sweetener, the cherry almost made me gag. I added a bit of vanilla oat creamer and it was toned down and lovely. Wish the chocolate flavor was a bit richer and deeper but still delicious.
Amazed I haven't reviewed this yet. Chocolate and cherries sing out in this blend, enhanced with a touch of milk and sugar to really bring out the cake taste.
Of all of the adagio teas I've tried there have been very few that didn't wow me. This was one of them.this tea had a very artificial flavor for me. I am not one to add any sweetener so maybe that is why it didn't mingle well together for me. Most of the reviews noted that the flavor was enhanced with sweetener.
A fun one to try, but I think other chocolate teas are better (truffle, tiger eye). I found the balance too cherry heavy (agreed, a bit medicinal), but if you happen to like Adagio's cherry flavor, you're probably going to love this tea! 3 min at 212°F
in my CT packet, I had a fair amount of chips and 1 piece of cherry. I added 4 small rock sugar chips. I definitely taste the cherry and a wee bit of chocolate. I neither like nor dislike it, but I will not purchase.
I know others RAVE over this one but it just doesn’t hit with me. It sounds scrumptious on paper but I think there are two big reasons it doesn’t punch my ticket. #1: I find Adagio’s cherry flavoring medicinal and cloying; it just rarely works in any blend for me. #2: I am not a huge ceylon fan as I find it astringent. Flavored blacks have to cover up that astringency for me to adore them and it doesn’t happen here. The chocolate might have helped but I find it more overly sweet than yum-worthy. In the end, although I’ve tried this tea a few times, we aren’t meant to be. To those who find it swoon-worthy, Happy Sipping!
I like the concept, but there is something off with the cherry (again). i didn't get any chocolate chips or cherry lumps. my sample was all tea. I get this faint chocolate and strong strange sweet taste.
This tea has that tart cherry tang that mellows with the chocolate slightly, just like the cake! Not my favorite flavor profile, but it does a great job of bringing you through the Black Forest.
When I opened my CommuniTEA packet, I was met with sweet aromas of chocolate and cherry. I did notice some chocolate chips and cherry pieces present in the packet. I steeped the tea for 3 minutes to avoid bitterness. The taste of the tea is very cherry forward, with the chocolate notes coming through as the tea cools. This is a nice dessert tea, especially if you like cherry.
No cherries or dark chocolate chips were noted in my communiTEA packet.! However, chocolate and cherry aromas were present.
I had 2.93 grams of ingredients, enough for a medium strength 12 ounce steep. I steeped at 190°F to lower any black tea bitterness, for the recommended three minutes.
When hot, mild unsweetened dark chocolate and cherry flavors were noted. No bitterness was noted. A smooth mouthfeel was noted. I added ⅜ teaspoon of sugar to sweeten the icing on my “piece of cake!”
When warm, cocoa nib, dark chocolate and cherry flavors were moderate and pleasant. A smooth creme mouthfeel was noted.
The cherry and chocolate flavorings worked well together. They did an excellent job of replacing the missing cherry and chocolate chip pieces. A mild dark chocolate, but acceptable bitterness was noted towards finish. This was a very tasty dark chocolate and cherry dessert tea! (3 mins @ 190ºF, ⅜ tsp sugar)
This tea is delicious - not too sweet, it has rich chocolate and cherry flavors, I like it better than actual black forest cake.
Super delicious tea, almost just as good as the cake
Chocolate with hints of cherry… it doesn’t get better than this. A great way to start the morning, or to satisfy cravings for something sweet.
This tea really tastes like Black Forest cake. You get the berry hint and chocolate flavour. I didnt realize I am not a big fan of the berry and chocolate combo so it was a miss for me.
This tea could have been good, but the artificial flavor of cherry came through so strong that it offset the overall flavor.
now that I've figured out how to brew chocolate teas, this one is *amazing* I like to mix it with black cherry for a little something extra.
This used to be a fandom special blend, so I was excited to see it as a regular flavor. Black Forest cake is my favorite dessert, and this tea is mellow and goes well with sweetener and creamer. One of my favorites!
While it could use a little more chocolate and cherry flavor profile, overall it was pleasant tea that I felt I could come back to time and time again
A great blend. Very enjoyable. I top it with whip cream and it’s a nice dessert. Also blend it with other teas
CommuniTEA 11/26/23: The first chance I’ve had to leave a review for this one after enjoying via advent calendar, rewards page, and gift purchase! The black tea base with chocolate flavor/cocoa nibs/chocolate chips is of course dark so I would highly recommend steeping at less than 200F if possible. Where I happen to find cherry flavor too medicinal in other teas it’s just right here. Notably and blessedly the cherry is without rose (which often makes it too perfumey elsewhere in addition to medicinal).
Love the cherry/chocolate pairing in this tea. These two flavors seem to compliment each other well and there was a perfect amount of each. The creme flavor added a nice soft touch to both flavors.
My CT packet had 3 grams of black tea leaves, a few cocoa nibs and mini morsels plus a small cherry piece. Brewed 10 oz. @ 208*F for 3 min. The liquor was a cloudy amber with a pleasant cherry chocolate scent. No bitterness was detected, just of bit astringency. I liked this tea best with a sweetener add and used agave. With sweetening, the flavors seemed to bloom and come forward more. This was a yummy treat with a delicious black forest cake like taste. As a cherry fan and a lover of chocolate too, this tea was made to order!
I normally don't like the taste of cherry in teas as it can get a bit medicinal but here it blends well with the chocolate !
What a magnificent tea! Tastes just like Black Forest cake, which is what I always get for my birthday every year <3 Definitely a new favorite for me!
I think this is a nice blend of the cherry and chocolate flavors, neither too overpowering of the other.
Not a big fan of cherry flavor. If you do like cherry it seems okay. Some chocolate notes present. I sampled this tea as part of the CommuniTea November 2023 box.
It was ok, I like cherry and chocolate, but this tasted like it had an artificial cherry taste. It was OK, but not one of my favorite.
CommuniTEA portion: 195 for 3 minutes. Definite dessert tea. Chocolatey and rich. A big heavy on the cherry for my tastes but I know that's the point of the cake! Enjoyable and fun.
I've had this in the past and wasn't a fan, so I decided to give it another try. My CT packet had no cocoa nibs, cherries, or chocolate chips this time around. There wasn't much flavor to it without all the additions, so it was just so-so. I normally love chocolate and cherry, but this fell short for me. (190° for 3 min.)
My CommuniTEA packet didn't have a lot of cherry flavor in it, but there was a suggestion of it. I love this tea with a small splash of cream to add a richness to the flavor.
Nice chocolate aroma from the dry tea leaves, no cherries iny packet. 2 min @ 212. I can definitely taste the chocolate. There is a hint of cherry on the aftertaste. It would probably have more cherry flavor in a sample size with cherries in it. No bitterness or astringency noted. Good tea, just not for me with the caffeine.
This surprised me because I don’t like many black tea blends. This was very good and just like the name implies.
