★☆☆☆☆

I was excited to try the Black Forest cake tea, but it left me quite disappointed. There is a very artificial taste almost like perfume and an astringent bitterness to the tea that interferes with any of the chocolate or cherry notes. In fact, the chocolate and cherry are barely noticeable. Disappointing.

oh i absolutely adore this ! sweet and delicate, slightly tart, a guilt free little indulgence. i also have tried it in the form of a little latte, with whipped cream and a sprinkle of cocoa powder on top. it's just delightful ... ♡

Wanted to like this more. Without additives it smelled faintly of chocolate and cherry notes. The flavor was more like varnish, but a high quality varnish, like the finish on the pews of an affluent church. I gave an extra star for not tasting like boat varnish.
Had to add enough sugar and cream to basically make a latte before getting anything that reminded me of cake.

This tea, for me, has a tartness, a vague bitterness that I do not enjoy at all. And I am finding that as much as I love chocolate, I am not a fan of chocolate teas. This is watery compared to a hot chocolate.

This one has a good flavor I think I need to.try it again with more of the tea I tried 2 cups since I had two samples first time seeped for 3 mins second for 5. 3 was weak 5 was bitter.

A chocolatey tea with subtle hints of cherry. Added cream for a sweetly satisfying dessert tea.

What it says on the tin, definitely a rich choco-cherry flavor on a background of reasonably mild black tea. It's a little bitter but nothing some milk and or sugar couldn't fix. It's nice but nothing spectacular.

This CommuniTea is good. By itself slightly bitter chocolate flavor. I added a bit of sweetener and the cherry stepped onto the scene reducing the bitterness a little. Adding a little milk rounded out this tea making it taste very much like Black Forest cake. Definitely a guilt free dessert beverage or at least low guilt compared to the actual cake.

Chocolate black teas and I don't get along unless there is a non-dairy creamer to act as an intermediary. This one is okay, but definitely won't end up in my shopping cart anytime in the near future.

CommuniTEA sample: 3 min @ 212 F. Black Forest cake is one of my favorite desserts, and I think this tea does a good job of capturing all of the elements of it! I get the chocolate, sweet and dark, I get the cherry, and the balance with the wild cherry flavor helps give it almost a Kirschwasser Aroma, and maybe a hint of sweetness from the crème. I do feel that overall, it was very weak, and it didn't taste much like tea to me. I'm not the biggest fan of Ceylon, so maybe that was a good thing, but I still would have preferred a little more flavor over all. Next time I’ll make it a latte!

I’m not usually a fan of Adagio’s chocolate flavor, but the dark chocolate chips and especially the cacao nibs push this blend forward. The cherry is alright… as much of a dark chocolate fan as I am, I still have to add cream and sugar to this one.

It's drinkable, but for whatever reason the cherry flavor has a baby powder quality to it that makes it taste like cough syrup or something. Strange.

This has a powerful cherry aroma with a subtler chocolate candy flavor. Surprising and tasty!

I gave this a try as a potential replacement for another chocolate-cherry tea and was unbelievably disappointed. Smells like violets. Tastes like violets. Soapy and floral. There were definitely chocolate chips in the bag, but somehow it was all drowned out by violets.

So yea lattes are staring to become a daily for me and this is perfect just as that. The flavors blend well and it’s like dessert in a cup! Will buy more of this one

It definitely reminds me of a good cherry cake. I use some milk and chocolate syrup (non traditional sweetener, but really helps sell the chocolate part for me). I'll sometimes use some sugar if its not enough just with a tad of chocolate syrup, but it seems to flourish with just a little sweetener added.

Definitely a repeat for me. A wonderful tea to enjoy as morning or afternoon treat that’s like having dessert. The perfect combination of fruit, chocolate and tea with nothing too overpowering. .

If I had closed my eyes, I would have thought this was actual cake. The flavors are balanced really well. I had this with a bit of cream, which made an incredibly smooth treat.

★★★☆☆

I wanted this to be really good but the taste and overall flavor are justok in my book. I wish there as more cherry to it

★★★☆☆

Black Forest Cake is an enjoyable tea blend. My hope for this tea shattered quickly. It’s not bad but it doesn’t stand out in the way I expected. I thought the flavors like Chocolate would be more noticeable. Overall, it tastes like any generic black tea. It’s okay but I wouldn’t repurchase.

Very nice balance of black tea, chocolate and cherry. I like this tea; I gave it 4 stars because I think it could use a tad more flavor.

This blend was ok but not one I will buy again. It is called Black Forest Cake and I was expecting a bit of a 'cake' flavor out of it (no I don't mean real cake, just maybe a slightly lighter flavor. Black Forest Cake has a very deep flavor, very dark. I needed an extra teaspoon of sugar to be able to properly taste the proper flavor which is rare.

Very delicious, love the chocolate pieces in the tea.

The smell of this tea is excellent. If you ever want to try something new make sure to give this tea a try

I got a $3 sample size bag in my order on a whim, and have brewed it several times so far. It is mostly 'just' a decent chocolate tea that avoids being too bitter from the cocoa nibs thanks to the chips and Adagio's creme flavor, which I always enjoy. I don't taste much of a cherry flavor in my batch, but I'd rather have too little than too much and have it end up like cough syrup. Overall I'd say it's okay, but I'd probably make a custom blend including chocolate and creme with other flavors rather than get this again soon.

This one has been a huge hit with my kids. The chocolate is quite prevalent, and is accentuated when they add a splash of cream and bit of sugar. I love the subtle cherry notes. It's a wonderful dessert blend.

Tastes decadent with some cream and honey, like baking a cake in a warm kitchen in the winter.

This tea is lush, decadent, and absolutely delicious! It can definitely serve as a stand-in for dessert.

Very chocolatey, with very clear natural cherry notes. Drink without milk or sugar for a cherry-first taste or with for a chocolate first taste. Naturally a sweet tea, so go lower on the sugar than you usually would.

I was intrigued by this flavor of tea. I am a chocolate tea lover and the added cherry flavor is a tasty variation. I let it steep for 5 minutes to really get the intensity I enjoy. I am not usually a fan of fruit-flavored teas, but this one is delicious.

The taste of this tea is pretty decent in my opinion, although it doesn’t match the name. I don’t taste any notes of cherry and no cocoa or chocolate flavor either. That being said, the tea is still palatable and would probably pair nicely with a cherry flavored sweetener.

It's a good tea with great flavor, I liked it, but for me it's not a tea that I would drink all the time.

★★★★☆

Solidly chocolate-y, both dry and brewed. I would have liked to have seen a heavier cherry flavor, personally. Do yourself a favor and drink with milk or cream.

Delicious and really taste like Black Forest Cake! Just one of the best teas I have tried on Adagio!

★★★★☆

I bought this as a sample. It is pretty good, but maybe a little too sweet and I prefer other chocolate flavors.

I thought I'd like the taste of chocolate cake but this doesn't taste anything like Black Forest Cake!

This tea ‘plays well this other’ (milk, ice, stevia) and is great as a stand alone either hot or iced. Mini chocolate chips are pretty but just add a hint of chocolate. One of my favs

★★★★☆

I made this as a milk tea. I felt that the berry and chocolate flavors were weak when brewed plain

I've made this one both hot and iced, and I highly recommend either. I wasn't sure if the cherry essence would translate in the iced version, but it did! Very tasty blend.

This a flavorful tea enjoyed with milk and honey in the mornings.

I wasn’t impressed with this tea. I didn’t get much chocolate flavor and the cherry flavor seemed astringent. Maybe I just don’t care for the cherry flavor and others will enjoy, but I won’t be purchasing this again.

★★★★★

The perfect blend of chocolate and cherry. The chocolate is very subtle which allows the cherry to shine through.

A remarkable execution of flavor! The chocolate and cherry come through and meld wonderfully together
