Nice cherry flavor with a smooth after taste. I have tried it with and without cream and I like it both ways. The aroma is very nice as well.
Black tea with the playful tanginess of rose hips, and the deep cherry sweetness is kept in balance with a touch of juicy, grounding blackberry. Iced, it is refreshing and delightful. Served hot, with a splash of cream, it is decadent and dreamy.

Nice cherry flavor with a smooth after taste. I have tried it with and without cream and I like it both ways. The aroma is very nice as well.
Delicious I don't like it if I steep past 2.5 minutes though
Very strong tea. do not let steep for a very long time. Just not a big fan of the black tea. tried hot and cold.
Wow! First, the scent is absolutely incredible! I opened up the bag and just spent a few minutes enjoying the aroma.
Second, the flavor is fabulous! It's not overpowering, but just the right amount of cherry flavor. I'm so glad I tried this as I will now have to get a larger bag!
Dropping to 3 stars. While I still like it, I am definitely tasting more of a syrup, which isn't terrible, but not quite what I enjoy. I think my tastes are more sensitive right now due to the changing season. Still very happy I tried!
Tried twice so far. First time steeped 5 minutes and it was very "flower forward" with almost no hint of cherry. Second cup was done at 3 minutes snd was much more cherry.
very good but I prefer a bit more of the black cherry flavor..the aroma is pleasant and I would buy it again
This tea was surprisingly delicious, I first bought it as a sample and didn't think I'd like it because I'm not keen on rose scented things but turns out I'm quite interested in rose flavor. The subtle hint of rose paired with black cherry with a spoon of agave or sugar and splash of cream has become an instant favorite so I've come back for a 3oz bag this time.
It really does have that great cherry flavor that you are looking for, with a subtle sweetness that brings out all the great qualities of this tea. I even got my partner to like it, and he isn't the biggest tea afficionado
I love this tea and the smell it puta off in my house while steeping.
Like it, dont love it. Smooth, but i like more fruity.
Excellent combination of sweet and tart. It reminds me of a cherry flavored tootsie roll pop. Honestly though, I prefer the cherry marzipan oolong.
Pretty nice taste. It was nice to try something new. Not sure if I’ll get it again
This was ok, not my favorite. I probably won’t buy again.
It’s wasn’t the best tea I’ve had from adagio but not the worst either. Probably won’t purchase again
By far my favorite tea yet! I start almost every morning with a thermos full
This fruity blend is wonderful hot but even better iced.
Excellent. Nice flavor profile, would recommend. Thanks
Super yummy and sweet my husband loves cherries and is in love with this tea. It will be a sample in our house
I think I may have Steeped this tea too long, but I still enjoyed it. I will purchase this as something to put in my regular iced tea rotation.
Note: Cherry flavoring and I generally don't get along. It reminds me too much of the children's cold medicine on which I was raised.
Actually, as cherry-flavored products go, this one could be far worse. It still has a medicinal note that I associate with cherry flavoring, but the black tea base goes a long way toward making this tea at least drinkable for me. Hot, I first notice hints of rose, but they’re not overpowering by any means. The medicinal taste of cherry flavoring is there, but it’s tempered by the darker flavor notes of the Ceylon, and, for me at least, the light touch of rose also helps make this tea tolerable. I want to sweeten the cup, but I know that will only bring out the cherry flavor more, so I don’t. As the tea cools, it comes out anyway, and though the black tea still keeps it in check, it becomes increasingly less palatable. I finish the cup, but this tea is not for me. If you didn’t grow up taking Pediacare on a regular basis, it’s probably great, though. (3 minutes @ 212°F)
A decent cherry tea. Not my very favorite, but I didn't run into the overpowering rose some reviewers mentioned.
This one is definitely not my cup of tea. It was extremely strong, tasting and medicinal tasting. After a few sips, I tossed the cup out and brewed some mindful mint chai.
I can tell you right off the bat that I generally can't stand cherry flavored things. That said, I did my best to give this tea a fair trial.
As soon as I opened the packet, my nose was assaulted with a strong 'Robitussin' scent that turned my stomach a little. There still remained a scent of 'children's cough syrup' even after brewing. I literally could not hover too close to my mug because of the smell.
I took a sip and immediately said 'NOPE'. The flavor plus scent makes this way too cough syrupy for me.
I'm giving this three stars because I was able to pawn it off on my husband with enough sugar added.
This updated version of Black Cherry does seem like an improvement! Less syrupy, but still too cloyingly sweet for my preferences. I think it could be an excellent base for blending with other black teas like Chocolate or Cream. If you’re in the mood for cherry, look no further!
Wasn't a huge fan of this tea. Was a bit artificial tasting.
Update: So I cold brewed it this time to see if it made a difference. It did not. It was still very artificial tasting.
Adagio's Black Cherry tea looked and smelled lovely upon opening the packet. The nose was lovely and cherry filled. There were lots of rose hips and dried cherry pieces. I was so excited to try it.
On my first sip, the cherry was minimal, so I added a tip of honey and a splash of half and half cream and the flavour left a light cherry cough syrup taste. Not a bad taste for an early afternoon sip.
This tea smells fruity and has a sharp, crisp, and deep taste. It's not as smooth or sweet as some of Adagio's berry teas, and if I had to compare it to them, I'd say it was more sultry, less bright. It has a mild tanginess. I don't taste any rose, probably because I used boiling water, so that the other flavors were more prominent, drowning out any rose. I could notice a very mild blackberry taste, but the tea flavor itself was quite strong, perhaps more than other black fruity teas brewed at the same strength. The aftertaste is a bit sticky-sweet. This tea stands up well to cream but needs a bit of sugar along with the cream to be heavenly. I think I would prefer a straight rose or berry tea like blueberry or black currant to this, but it is nice and pleasant. Probably good for a day when you want a strong tea to go with a bold mood, but you don't quite want to dip into an Earl Grey. Brew in harder water or cooler temps for more subtle flavors. Pairs nicely with dark chocolate, plain scones, strawberries, and whipped cream.
I found that the rose, being such a strong flavour eclipsed the cherry flavor. I did, however, seem to have a large rose to cherry portion and perhaps a regular sample would be better balanced.
A decent cup of tea. Sweet scent, black tea color when brewed. I did feel this one needed a sweetener to boost the flavor.
Opening my CommuniTEA packet for this tea, I knew I would like this blend since it smelled like cherry flavored candy. However, once brewed the taste is not as overly sweet as you'd expect. Still very pleasant to my tongue. I think this would also make a nice iced tea, but I'll have to test that theory another day.
In the bag: Around 80% of my packet is ceylon. I have a few rose petals that have turned a light orange. Several rose hips of medium size, though some of these could be cherry pieces.
On the nose (pre-steep): Cherry is loud and proud. It has a sticky sweet quality, almost like cherry cough syrup. Hint of rose.
On the nose (post-steep): Similar to pre-steep. A little less sweet. A tiny, tiny hint of unsweetened chocolate is coming through.
On the tongue (pre-sweetener): Cherry and blackberry. Blackberry is an equal partner at the beginning of the sip, but yields the floor as the sip evolves into the aftertaste. A slight bitterness, but not unpleasant.
On the tongue (post-sweetener): No change.
Opinion: A decent blend that I can enjoy, but its flaws prevent it from being a favorite. The cherry flavor lacks the bright freshness I associate with biting into a real cherry. Instead, it comes across as a medicinal cherry syrup.
Preparation: First steep 3 min, second steep 6 min. Both @ 195 ℉. ½ teaspoon monk fruit sweetener.
2021: This updated black cherry is fantastic! Steeped 3 mins @ 200° and was delighted to find it tasted more like actual cherries and less like artificially flavored cough syrup, as promised in the description. It’s good plain and with a splash of sweet creamer. I bet it’s great cold, too. I am just floored that Adagio is turning me into a fan of cherry teas, since cherry is usually the last flavor I pick for anything.
2022: Meh this time around. I guess I just wasn’t in the mood for cherry. Still good quality, though.
2023: really good cold brewed!
I don't love this tea, because there just isn't enough cherry flavor, it's more of a subtle hint of black cherry. I did not taste rose petals; however I did get a whiff of them, so I know they were there. On the flip side, this tea is very good as a blending tea, so that is what my rating is primarily based upon.
This happened to be my first daily tea... I will admit that I typically like all things cherry and this was certainly no exception to that. I also tend to favor black teas over others... This tea was a great match for me ... so much so that I've ordered more of it. Highly recommend if you like cherries.
I enjoyed the black cherry flavor. It had a bit of a dry aftertaste
I wasn't that big on this black cherry flavor. I usually somewhat like cherry flavor but this just seemed off to me. It was drinkable but not one I would prefer.
July 16, 2023 ~ When not in the mood for Black Cherry..Its only an Ok Tea for me. 3 🌟's today. No giant black cherries in my CT packet on this year's 16th. This tea would be great iced, I believe!!! Next time I gotta try that.-- And, add Fresh or Frozen Cherries to the hot or iced brew..I'm sure--is superbness!!! 🤌🏻🖤🍒

July 16th, 2022: ~ a 5 Star Review🌟
A jumbo blimpie plumpie cherry bestowed my CommuniTEA packet with flavorful goodness! I absolutely love Adagio's cherry teas..🤔*IF* I am in the mood for Cherry, which isn't often...but if I am--Its magnifique! 🍒
Communitea Review: This is a decadent cup—I wasn’t sure I would like it as cherry is not usually a flavor I would normally pick. I smell and taste the rose and another flavor I couldn’t put my finger on. When I looked at the full description, it said blackberry! Great addition. Would drink again.
I felt that the natural, potent cherry flavor pop was missing for me. I love the hint of rose, the cherry hit me in the back of the throat, and I know that makes no sense but it’s the only way I can describe it. It was ok!
10 oz, 3 mins @ 195* F, divided. Sweetener in both, cream in the hot portion.
Upon opening, the smell of rose was strong and obnoxious to my nose. It smelled of something else that I would not associate as 'black cherry' nor even, 'wild cherry'.
Hot:
if Luden's cough drops was the flavor profile they were seeking, they achieved their goal. This isn't a horrible tea, but it's certainly not one I'd put on my WL. Hopefully it's better cold. Maybe it is horrible, at least to me, I can't finish it.
Cold
No. One sip cold and down the drain.
Update 7/15/2023 - with cherries in the mix this tea is much better. I would raise it to 4.5 stars.
Today’s tea was not bad. It could have used more cherry flavor but with no cherry in the packet that could have been the issue with that. Thank goodness the rise was muted as I am not a floral fan.
This tea has a nice flavor and is a nice beverage to enjoy in the spring and summer for its notes of cherry. Not my all time favorite, but still enjoyable.
I cold brewed this and... there is no clove or allspice in the tea. No spices of any kind. And yet... I keep tasting spice. The cherry flavor is strong but not kool-aid like, and the rose taste is not particularly noticeable.
It's ok, but wouldn't order again -- the tea doesn't have as much cherry flavor as I would have liked, and I don't notice the rose petals at all.
Pleasant smell, but the taste is slightly too cough syrup-y for me. I could maybe see it working in a blend, but I don't think I'd drink it alone.
This tea wasn't bad...but I think its a blend I can really only drink in small doses. By the time my cup was done, I was starting to feel a little overwhelmed by the cherry taste, which was more tart than sweet.
Not bad, but definitely not for me.
As others have said it does have a cherry cough syrup smell to it but after steeping the flavors are well balanced and I really enjoyed the different notes. A little more of a cherry flavor would've made this a 5 star tea
I received my package today and was too excited to wait to try my infuser mug as well as the tea. First, it was very fast shipping and the black cherry tea was delicious. I have already started anther order.
I like this, but I also really don't get much black cherry taste from it, despite there being dried cherries definitely present in the mix. It is a mildly fruity black tea.
I'm pretty bummed, I didn't enjoy this flavor at all. It's perfume-y with its floral notes and sticks on your tongue far too long.
