A little too artificial tasting to me. I might have brewed it too long, but I`m personally not a fan.
Ceylon black tea with a touch of almond. Plush mouthfeel, creamy marzipan notes, nutty sweet, balanced astringency.

A little too artificial tasting to me. I might have brewed it too long, but I`m personally not a fan.
My new favorite tea! The flavor is true almond, not artificial at all. I keep this one at work, and the only problem is that now my co-workers expect me to share. Instead, I've sent them all $5 gift certificates by e-mail. This was from my first order from Adagio and I'll gladly return to buy more!
Almond is exactly as stated. Almondy. I like to blend it with the Irish Breakfast or Oriental Spice teas to make a tasty morning tea.
Good for blending with others, but not very impressive on its own - reminds me a bit too much of fake almond extract, a touch too sweet. I prefer to combine it with other flavored black teas, instead, such as for snowflake tea with the vanilla and cream teas. Once in a while I'll drink it on its own, but it just reminds me that that's a waste of the leaves when I could make something much more delicious.
Straight from the bag I knew Id enjoy this tea. The amazing aroma continued into steeping and the flavor carried right down to the last drop. I tried it plain and with sugar and milk both ways are nice.
Amazing. I loved the almond smell and flavor. It smells really strong in the bag but really mellows when brewed.
The quintessential almond. Delivers exactly what you would expect.
This tea is wonderful!! Adagio surely does not disappoint! I use double the serving because I like a very strong flavor, along with a little cream and sugar and its absolute heaven!
The taste came on a little strong for me at first but the second cup the next day was much better. If you like the almond flavor, you will love this one.
I absolutely LOVE the rich yet mellow flavor of this tea. Mixes well with caramel, cinnamon, vanilla, and my personal favorite vanilla oolong.
This tea is absolutely amazing! What a great experience from start to finish. The dry blend itself smells great, I could inhale that all day - once brewed, also smells delicious, and goes great with a spoonful of brown sugar and a dash of milk.
I am editing my review as I have now tried using a smaller amount of tea leaves and steeping for a shorter amount of time. It is much improved over my last attempt (using the directions on the package), but it is still not one of my favorites. I will, however, use the rest of the tea versus giving it away to friends.
Smells and taste great but I don't know if it almond flavor. It's has sweet fruity smell as well as taste. It is almost like a cookie smell.
I love to use this tea in blends, but it can stand on it's own tea leaves very nicely! A rich base with a creamy almond finish, it's a soothing marzipan confection in a cup. Although very good served without any extras, I like to add a nice splash of almond milk to make it truly decadent.
Mmmm. I got this as a gift from Adagio and oh my god I love it. The smell from the bag immediately makes me think of almond cookies and almond extract. The taste remains perfectly almond, with very little bitterness so long as I brew it at the right time and temp for me. I could drink this forever.
Smooth, silky, and very sweet. It's good on it's own, but I can't wait to start using it in blends.
Love the smell! This with a bit of amber sugar crystals is one of my favorite treats.
This was much lighter than I expected. The smell is very clean and makes me think of pie crust. For this reason, I like to blend this tea with fruit teas. On it's own, the flavor is very subtle. Again, good for blending, but I personally prefer stronger flavors.
every so often i use almond paste, usually for kick butt vegan cookies, that what the taste is, almond paste/ cookies, it's very up front kind of tea, it doesn't care if you think it's a bit strong, or a bit too rich, it doesn't need you it's mother friggin' almond!
this is a very strong and comforting tea, it's not so great as a summer cup, cant wait to try it this winter though, cant wait to try this blended with chocolate, caramel, cream, vanilla, maybe even a chai
Wow, this one really surprised me! The almond flavour is VERY strong even on a second steeping. It's like drinking liquid marzipan! SO lovely! Very good to drink while eating chocolate sweets, and I imagine it would blend ridiculously well with chocolate-flavoured tea as well.
We knew we would like this tea the minute we opened the bag. We made the mistake of adding honey to it though, so our first cup was a little sweet. This tea is so good you don't need any sweetener at all. I love the toasted almond aftertaste as well.
For some reason I always skipped over this flavor thinking I wouldn't like it, but decided to buy a sample size recently. it's now my new favorite flavor and I'm coming back to buy the larger size.
This is powerful stuff, and a little goes a long way (which quite possibly makes it an especially economical choice among flavored black teas - you might get all the flavor you want using only half as much as you normally would). I enjoy the way this almond tea evokes memories of amaretto, marzipan, and even my mom's favorite chocolate covered cherries. :o) It won't dethrone the chestnut black tea as my absolute favorite nut tea from Adagio, but it's a very pleasant tea, especially if you'd rather be reminded of nutty sweets than straightforward roasted nut flavors.
The aroma of this tea is heavenly, I love almond tea. I thought the taste of the almonds was spot on,except it wasn't bitter, but was a milder almond flavor. I will reorder this tea again, the scent alone is worth it.
I was definitely overwhelmed by the intoxicating aroma when I first opened the package. However, this tea is perfectly almond flavored, not too powerful at all. A lovely marzipan flavor, tastes fantastic mixed w/ vanilla tea and w/ a splash of vanilla soymilk.
I'm a huge fan of almonds in general, so I was very excited to try this tea. It definitely evokes the flavor of almonds, but it lacks the depth and complexity of almond oolong.
Wow the almond essence in this is strong. I'll be using it in blends instead of on its own. Treat this as you would almond extract in cooking- sparingly as a little goes a long way.
This definitely has a strong almond flavor. I prefer it in a blend to let some tea flavor through as we'll.
Love this tea! Very nice marzipan almond flavor. Especially good mixed with peach oolong!
I love this iced with a splash of milk. The almond scent is a bit stronger than the taste but still it's excellent.
Hands down, this is one of my favorite teas on Adagio. It is delicious on it's own or with a bit of milk and sugar. I always like to have a bag of this in my tea cupboard.
I love almonds and marzipan so I decided to try this.
I made one cup, drank half, and was so sick I actually vomited. I didn't believe it myself, and I HATE to give Adagio a bad review, but I just truly couldn't stomach it.
(after a huge sampler order from Adagio I have concluded that I don't like flavored teas.)
This is a lovely Ceylon with a sweet almond fragrance. I don't notice an almond flavor so much, but it smells yummy. It's a nice afternoon tea. I was concerned that it would have a fake almond taste, but that wasn't the case at all.
good by itself or mixing it with chocolate, vanilla or cherry tea. marzipan like.
It has a cherry edge to it like almond flavored things often do. It is quite flavorful.
Definitely almond flavor, leaning to amaretto, but this didn't overwhelm the actual tea. Not intrinsically sweet, which I appreciated. A little sugar brought out the almond flavor.
I enjoy the almond flavor - not too strong, not too faint. Also good in blends.
Very strong smell at first of almonds, most of which is lost in the cup. However this is absolutely amazing with french vanilla creamer.
Good with other flavors but too strong for me alone. Either brew with less than the recommended amount or mix with something mellow, like cream, or fruity, like cherry.
great tea. reminds me of marzipan - which I love.
This hit the spot! I was looking for something sweet and this was it. Adding a bit of milk and a dash of sugar intensified this tea and cured my sweet tooth.
Really lovely almond smell right out of the bag (makes me crave marzipan). It makes a great breakfast tea and the almond flavor does carry over nicely when steeped. Good by itself but I know it's featured in some great blends too.
Almond is one of my favorite flavors, so snagged up a sample pack. When I opened it I was hit in the face with an extremely fragrant almond scent. A perfect almond-flavored black tea, and I can't wait to blend this with some other flavors.
this one is fantastic! if you like almond cookies, you'll love this. doesn't even need sugar!
This is very similar to the almond oolong and I find it a little lacking in comparison-- the almond flavor is not quite as strong as it is in the oolong and the black tea feels heavier.
Regardless, it's a good tea and definitely not something I'd mind drinking...I just prefer the almond oolong.
The almond flavor is a bit strong for my taste and kind of smells like an instant tummy-ache on its own, but the way it blends with other flavors is really fantastic and makes me feel like I'm baking and drinking a cake. It blends well with all of the popular bakery flavors like cinnamon and vanilla, as well as some fruity flavors like blueberry, but for me personally I need to exercise a very gentle hand when using it because even a little bit too much makes me feel like I ate way too much wedding cake.
The almond is just prominent enough to make for a perfect afternoon tea.
This tea is really great on its own or mixed with other teas!
I love just about anything that has almond flavor. And my second favorite is cherry. So I mixed the 2 (one part almond and 2 parts cherry)OMG!!! I love it. I bought 3 lbs of Adagio Tea(1 almond and 2 cherry) My new favorite tea. So glad my sister introduced me to adagio tea. Thank you and Blessings,
Gail Snow
Excellent tea! I like to sweeten it with a touch of brown sugar and ad a bit of soy milk to it.
