I forgot how much I loved mango until I tried this tea. It doesn t have much of a mango flavor, but just enough to know that it is not a plain tea. I have been looking to expand my decaf collection of tea (tea all day!) so this is still a great addition.

The scent of dried candied mangoes wafts out of the packet. Dropping it into the steeping basket and pressing the black tea button kicked off the 212°F steep. Pulling the basket up for 2 out of 5 minutes made it pretty simple to hit the 3 minute target steep time. The tea was a rich dark brown color, and still smelled lightly of mango.

The first sip brought forth light fruity mango and rich malty decaf Ceylon tea. The decaf process mellowed out the black tea, giving it a smooth and rounded quality. The tea is still full-bodied with plenty of bold black tea tannins and a mild astringency. Any bitterness or sharp edges have been tempered and smoothed off by the decaffeination process. For good reason too, as the light mango flavor would otherwise get lost in the mix.

This is a really nice lightly flavored decaf black tea. Great for an afternoon or evening tea when paired with some sweet goodies.

IMO, the Ceylon is Adagio's best decaf black tea, and it shines here. I brewed mine for 3 min at 200F to keep from having any bitterness from the black tea, and also to let the mango flavors come forward more, and it worked great. This was a smooth, easy sip that tasted great when hot and also as it cooled. If you enjoy mangos and are looking for a decaf tea, I would absolutely recommend giving this one a try.

To be fair, I would never buy this tea on my own. I received it in my communitea and was thankful to try it, but it wasn't that great to me.

★★★★★

Both me and my roommate give this a five star rating! Very fruity but not too much and great for a late night.

Although a mango flavor, I found the aroma and flavor of this tea to be more like peach. No bitterness noted. Delicious hot and iced. Great tea for later in the day, since it is decaf.

Fan of black teas here! I’ve tried other decaffeinated teas before today’s CommuniTEA packet and can attest that Adagio’s decaf offerings are delightful. I do believe something within this particular decaffeination method tames the Ceylon, which I’ve found to be their more bitter black tea otherwise. Here it’s a smooth base for little hints of flavor. The only knock is that the mango isn’t immediately recognizable as mango. This makes for a delicious iced tea for uncomfortably warm weather and you’d never know it was decaf.

I’m really starting to enjoy Adagios decaf teas cold brewed. This one is much more subtle than the other fruit flavored ones. I taste fruit but I wouldn’t be able to say that was definitely mango, that’s the reason I gave it a four instead of a five. Very refreshing on this typical Texas summer day.

The aroma of the dry tea had a strong mango flavor, but after brewing that flavor was very mild. I could tell that there was some sort of fruit flavor happening, but couldn't idenitfy it.

This a very good black tea that is not bitter when time and temp are reduced. (I steeped at 195 F x < 3 min)

This tea is so good. I'm such a huge fan of adagios decaf fruit teas the flavor is so refreshing and crisp!! I really love the mango flavor, it doesn't taste artificial at all.

CommuniTEA Sample: Enjoyed this one both hot and cold. I don’t know that it was fully mango I tasted, but it was a bit fruity. I don’t usually drink a lot of decaf, but this was really good with the Ceylon as a base. Overall, it’s a very enjoyable sip.

A lifetime of store bought teabags teaches you that decaf is a weak flavored tea that only reminds you of what you can't have. Then CommuniTea provides the opportunity to try decaf again. Surprise! This actually tastes like tea. In fact it is even better than regular Ceylon as there is no bitterness. Add Mango and it is super yumm. Bet this would also taste fabulous iced.

Not a fan of decaf teas. It's okay, but I don't hate it. I taste mostly black, whatever decaf black is supposed to taste like. Mango smell and taste is not there. UPDATE: I wrote the previous review when I had a free week of Communitea. Now I have the box. Tea leaf smell improved with today's packet, but I still taste nothing but black tea. I still prefer the grassier and caffeinated Mango Mate other this and Mango Green.

I was happy to actually taste the mango flavor in this black tea! Sometimes the ceylon overpowers any other flavor and can become bitter, but this was a nice blend that balanced the fruity with the black tea. I steeped mine a more at 195 and for a little under 3 minutes and it turned out really smooth and delicious.

Steeped for 3 minutes, this is naturally sweet with a very slight bite form the black tea. It's very good, but I'm unsure how much it tastes like a mango fruit, seems more like the kind of flavor you'd find in a candy. I liked this one and I wouldn't mind having a small bit on hand.

It's a great decaf tea. I enjoy it both iced and hot with a little bit of honey. It has a lovely mango flavor and smell.

I really loved this tea, sometimes black tea is very strong and this one was not. I only wish it was not decaf.

★★★★☆

I definitely enjoyed this tea, however, I was definitely left searching for the mango flavors. I could smell the mango, a little, but I couldn't taste it at all. I did, however, feel the tropical attitude of mango throughout the tea, a hint of being just a little bit different. The flavor was undeniably fruity, and the addition of brown sugar oatmilk creamer smoothed everything together, and added to the almost-too-deep-to-detect malty notes. I would definitely drink it again, but I don't know that I'd go so far as to call it a mango tea.

I'm quite partial to caffeine, but this tea is still an incredible example of a perfectly balanced tea. The mango is gentle and sweet, without being overwhelmed by the black tea it's used with. Vibrant and cheerful.

I really like Ceylon tea for its citrus hints, and they worked very well with the mango flavor. For some reason, I prefer the taste of decaf Ceylon in general, though I couldn’t pinpoint the difference

I liked this tea but did not fall in love. Ceylon was a smart choice to avoid overpowering the more delicate flavors of this fruity tea.
I would prefer a different hot tea in the morning, but could see myself enjoying this tea in the afternoon over ice. (Thus avoiding imbibing a second fully caffeinated brew.)

Adagio decaf blends rock! They’re perfect hot, perfect cold. Decaf Mango is no exception. I cold brewed and was rewarded with a light, crisp tea with no bitterness. The mango is light and mild, adding an almost sweet kiss and not an overwhelming fruit flavor. A touch of simple syrup brings the fruit essence to the front. A great addition to my decaf collection!

I didn't like this tea hot, but I thought it had a nice taste when cool. The mango flavor was subtle, but pleasant. I likely wouldn't buy this tea as it is decaffeinated and I prefer a slightly more strongly flavored tea.

I steeped this tea at 212F for 3 minutes and added sugar.

The tea smelled like mangos but the flavor wasn’t very present once brewed. Even with sugar, there was still a bit of bitter aftertaste. (3 mins @ 200°F)

Brewed hot: Meh. 3 stars. As is, it doesn't really taste like mango... it is an okay, generically fruity, black tea. With an extra heaping tsp of dried mangos from my pantry, it sort of gets closer to tasting like mango. It can easily go into overly bitter territory. The bonus for this non-caffeinated version is that you can not tell the difference from the fully caffeinated version. It does not have any weird decaf taste. Icing the hot brewed tea does not change my opinion at all, it has the same characteristics, just cold.

Cold-brewed: Game changer. 5 stars. I cold brewed it with an extra heaping tsp of dried mango. It softens the black tea to have zero bitterness. Has an added natural sweetness that wasn't present with the hot brew. Amps the fruity flavor and turns it recognizably mango. I will finally want to drink the stash I've had for over a year in my tea cabinet since discovering what a difference the brew method makes for this tea.

Dry tea smells mango sweet, as anticipated. Once brewed, the cup is a dark medium brown with a nice mango scent. When hot, mild mango notes are present with the bright decaf Ceylon base. I could not detect any bitterness from the Ceylon. When warm, more mango sweetness is present in the cup. I found this decaf version to be just about the same as the full-caf version, with mild mango notes. The mango flavor is delicate and not overpowering. I enjoy the full-caf version iced, and the decaf should also be tasty cold brewed as well. Brewed at 200 for 3 minutes.

A perfectly refreshing cup of mango tea! The sweetness level was just right out of the packet and it has a very good flavor overall. I would like a little bit more mango, though.

The Adagio description for this tea is spot on. The citrusy flavors of the Ceylon blend perfectly with the mango flavors to make a fruity, slightly sweet black tea. I did add just a touch of honey to see how it did with sweetener. The mango flavor popped just a bit more with the honey. There is no bitterness or astringency noted. Just a smooth, tasty cup of tea. Flavor profiles were similar when hot and iced and I liked it both ways. Love the fruity smell though when it is warm. Steeped at 195º for 4mins. Enjoy!

This is a good black tea with just a hint of mango. It is tasty both hot and iced and really needs little or no sweetener. The added bonus is that it's caffeine free so can be enjoyed anytime of the day.

Man, this tea makes you go...yum! Just like the other decaf black flavored options this is a good entry and much appreciated by the 'less caffeine, please' crowd. The flavor is light and not overpowering. I added oat milk because I like the creaminess it gives to the cup. A good everyday sipper. Happy Sipping!

Sampled as part of the CommuniTEA. This tea is just okay. This just tasted like Ceylon tea with the barely detectable mango flavor.

UPDATE 2021: After sampling this tea again and having a year of Tea learning under my belt, I guess I over-steeped my original sample from last year. Today it's perfectly brewed and delightful. I steeped a shorter time to avoid the bitterness I experienced last year.

I Love mangos and splurge and by them already cut up. The smell from the packet reminds me more of peach or apricot. Still a great smell ! I drank this hot and the mango flavor was light but increased as the tea cooled. I appreciate that this tea is decaf so I can enjoy it in the evenings. Bet this would be delicious iced as well.

212 degrees for 4 minutes. I seem to smell the mango more than I can taste it, and there's a bit of bitterness in the aftertaste that I'm not a huge fan of. Overall, its not bad, but not a favorite fruit flavor. I much prefer the strawberry or raspberry decaf ceylon.
