Decaf chocolate truffle is quite similar to the fully caffeinated version, albeit slightly weaker and smoother due to this particular decaffeination process. I like my flavors more pronounced usually in a black tea so I will up the amount of tea or decrease the amount of water. It’s a lovely hint of chocolate flavor that I’m glad is now available in decaf. Do not expect something like actual hot chocolate and you won’t be disappointed!

I am always disappointed when I focus on the name of these dessert teas. It tastes like a nice black tea with chocolate notes, but not a chocolate truffle. I do like dessert teas that are decaf.

So nice to have decaf options. I like this one well enough alone, but it’s really good in blends. Mild chocolate flavor made better by adding a bit of sweetener and cream. 190° for 3 minutes.

This was a very enjoyable chocolate flavored tea - being decaf was a plus. One that will add to my list to buy. CT 9/3/2023.

Very good decaf version of the chocolate truffle. There isn't the flatness I sometimes get from decaff teas.

One of my favorite decaf teas. It's great warm with a teaspoon of honey and splash of cream.

This might be weird, but I think I prefer this to the caffeinated version.

On Adagio’s smooth decaf base, the dark chocolate flavor components of this tea should really sing. Yet, like most chocolate teas, this decaf version still benefits from a little sweetening. This allows the cocoa notes to come forward. Similarly, milk helps round out the cup and make it richer, which is nice as this version feels a little thin. Whether that’s the result of mistakenly adding too much water, a lack of extra body compared to the caffeinated version, or simply a typical characteristic of chocolate teas has yet to be determined. Interestingly, though, this decaf version does withstand a second infusion better than most chocolate teas. (3 minutes @ 212°F)

Chocolate Truffle is my favorite chocolate tea and I am thrilled that the decaf version tastes just as fabulous. The chocolate flavor is dark and decadent but not sweet. Adding a little milk turns this tea into a treat. Being decaf, I can now sip before bed and actually get to sleep after.

Chocolate Truffle is one of my favorites, so I was delighted to see it in a decaf version! I like to add vanilla creamer to enhance the decadence of the chocolate flavor. This tea is a wonderful treat!

Great caffeine free option Tastes identical to the caffeinated version! If you have dietary restrictions this is a tasty option. I sampled this tea as part of the CommuniTea September 2023 box.

I loved this tea the first time around but couldn't remember which one it was! Now I know for sure! It gives the impression of a dark chocolate and is wonderful around a bonfire.

I was hoping the smell of the packet (SWOON!) would match the taste in the cup, but alas, it was not to be. I always love Adagio’s decaf blacks. They are so very smooth and less astringent than regular Ceylon. However, the chocolate flavor was just too muted for me to go insane over this one. If I advise anything, it is to let the cup cool a bit and add sweetener. This seemed to maximize the chocolate flavor that was present. Happy Sipping!

Delightful to the nose upon opening the packet. Visually appealing with all the ingredients present - loved the blue cornflowers in the mix - lovely.

Upon steeping, the nose was wonderful, but I added a little honey and a couple drops of half and half to bring out the flavour. The chicory added the dry after taste, while the chocolate lingered on the tongue between each sip. A lovely dessert tea. I would certainly purchase this decaf blend to enjoy into the evenings.

Um yeah, chocolate please, and no guilt involved, great end of the day tea because I'm flying a little with all the earlier caffiene, so this is a great wind down. Not sure how a decaf tea is so much better than decaf coffee or NA beer, but it is, great job on this blend

Smooth black tea with bittersweet chocolate flavor. Probably best with sweetener and perhaps creamer of some sort to bring out the dessert quality.

'I want chocolate!
but I can't have more sugar
I am sweet enough!'

Said the girl, sadly
Her mother listened, smiling
While steeping up tea

The scent drifted up
And the girl came for a cup
Her sweet craving met

Hugs and kisses to the genius who invented adding chocolate to tea. Normally, I would scoff at the idea of decaf chocolate, because I want the BUZZ, people! However, this decaf chocolate truffle is so delicious, I can forgo the caffeine. From the first sip I taste cocoa and rich chocolate. To the last sip, there is absolutely no bitterness, just glorious chocolate!

Chocolate truffle is definitely the best chocolate tea Adagio offers, and I'm so glad they decided to make it in decaf! This one is just as good as the full-caf version. Great solo and would also be awesome in blends, especially as someone who is trying to cut down on the amount of caffeine I'm consuming.

Smells like chocolate, steeps (at a lower temp) into a rich amber. Tastes of yummy dark chocolate. Delicious when ¼ teaspoon of sweetener is added. Love that it has trace caffeine, because that means I can drink this any time of day. (3 mins @200ºF + sweetener).

This tea is a favourite on its own for me, but it's also one of my go-to teas for blending. It's rich and dark in aroma and flavour, and smoother than the caffeinated version (in my opinion). This is my gold standard for chocolate teas! Steeped 3 min @ 205º.

Love it! It's like hot chocolate and black tea had a baby, and it works!

It's a bit more mellow than just a cup of hot chocolate, which I think is good for the morning time when I don't want to feel like I'm eating a piece of chocolate cake for breakfast.

I'll have to try the caffeinated version. I do like having some good decaf options for the evening times, though, and this one would be great for a winter evening by the fireplace.

This seems to be, surprisingly, less sweet and more prone to bitterness than the non-decaf version. It tasted stale - or, honestly, really fishy. I tried it at various steep times and temperatures, but it tended to taste a off each time.

This is a delicious tea! I’m not a chocoholic in general, meaning I don’t eat chocolate candy and chocolate bars, usually, but let me sip a wonderful chocolate tea blend like this and I’ll be swooning! This tea has such a rich and flavorful taste. I brewed it at 195 for 3 minutes and it was perfect. I suggest that you give this a try.

I'm knocking it down a star since I won't drink it by itself, but that hasn't stopped me from enjoying it tonight. Hot, Blended with Mindful Mint Chai (75% MMC, 25% DCT), with sweetener and cream

Delish! Even better than with the Tiger Eye. I do not like chocolate teas full on by themselves - so rather than waste this one I decided to blend it in the evening drink I've been enjoying. Since I didn't use all of it, I can blend it with something else too. I'm not quite sure what alchemy I'll cook up yet, but if it's this tasty in another blend, I'll definitely order some for home blending purposes. Yum!

There isn’t an Adagio decaf tea I dislike, but this is one of the best if you like chocolate flavored teas. Good for blending, too. I enjoy black, but a little sugar elevates to a dessert tea status.

This is just a first impression as I've only brewed this twice, so maybe this will change, but I was expecting this to be sweeter, I guess? I'll be honest, I don't really taste chocolate, and it was overall pretty bitter. I usually take my tea with a splash of milk/creamer, but this one I may need to mess around with sweetening it more, as well as the steeping time. Smells lovely out of the bag, though!

Chocolate teas just aren't my thing. It sounds amazing, and I'm in need of some good decaf teas for nighttime, but this kinda just tastes how I imagine it would be if you were to pour hot water over a tootsie roll.
