Love this lighter chai with a tropical twist. This was one of the first teas I ordered from Adagio and I still keep some on hand in my cabinet. When I’m in the mood for a lighter chai this is my go to. I love the addition of the lemongrass and coconut. The peppercorn gives it a nice zip, but not too much. I used 2 heaping tsps for my 14 oz cup. I steeped at 180° for 3 minutes. Tossed in a couple pieces of rock sugar. This one is good cold but I prefer it hot. You can distinguish different flavors at different temps with this one so try a cup a few sips at a time as it cools.

I really enjoyed this tea blend. The white bar made for a lovely platform

Today's CommuniTea packet is white chai with ginger, lemon grass, cinnamon, pineapple pieces, white tea, coconut, cloves, cardamom, apple pieces, red peppercorn, and spice and cinnamon flavors. Not my favorite chai, but an interesting change of pace. A lightly spiced and slightly fruity chai. Brewed in 12 ounces of 180 degree water for three minutes.

CommuniTEA Sample: This was quite enjoyable today and a nice change of pace from the black chais. It was lighter, but still had some very nice Chai flavor and was great with a splash of milk. Very good tea!

I was quite surprised this white tea had so much flavor. The lemon and tropical flavors added a nice twist to this Chai tea.

I prefer chai with robust flavor and layers of spicy goodness. The white chai is very delicate. A lovely cup of tea.

I’m not usually a big chai fan, so this one surprised me. It’s spicy, but not overtly so and I think this allows the other flavors to come through in a welcomed way. I could taste the ginger, lemongrass and cinnamon and those flavors shining through created a unique chai experience. I’m a white tea fan, so I also believe that contributed to why I liked this twist on chai so much. The zing of the peppercorn on the back end made for a fun finish. If you are chai shy, give this one a try! Happy Sipping!

The tea leaf smell is both sweet and spicy. With sugar and dairy to bring out the flavors, I like it. This and Thai Chai have been my favorites amongst the chais so far.

Sipping along with CommuniTEA: Strong ginger, cinnamon and cloves noticed from the dry ingredients and packet. Once steeped for 3 mins at 190° F, I noticed cinnamon, ginger, pineapple and citrusy lemongrass. When I take a sip, warming spices including pepper are noticed on to nose continuing through to the finish with more lingering spices on the palate. As the tea cools, the pepper becomes more present. No coconut is noticed.

If I was to name this tea, I might call it Christmas in the tropics. It has all the spicy wonderful flavors of a Christmas chai with a tropical fruit addition. And it is not as heavy as a chai.
To me Chais are strong bold teas. And white teas are soft and delicate. Mixed together you have a beautiful chai to be sipped next to an ocean view rather than a snowy cabin by the fire place!

Update:
I like this even more nearly a year later.
1/21/21:
This was a nice mild chai. Great change of pace over other stronger chai teas. I’d definitely drink it again.

This is…nice. Not overpoweringly strong in flavor, though I’d like a little more cardamom/cinnamon flavor and less clove/anise. Not a bad brew though!

Refreshing tea with a mild spicy aftertaste.

Nice light chai. I don't get any pineapple or coconut but love the lemongrass and chai spices, this is a great tea to sip later in the day if you're a fan of Thai Chai and don't want all the caffeine.

The pineapple, ginger and coconut create a sweet complexity of flavors. The red peppercorns are the perfect spice note as well. Overall this is a perfect sweet, savory and spicy balanced tea.

This is a surprisingly bright and flavorful chai. I was very impressed. White chai teas are normally drab and a bit off to me. This one is really nice!

I know that it is a white chai, so the flavors will always be a little more mild from the white tea, but I really wish that the spices had given it just a little bit more of a kick, you know? This tea probably goes well with mildly flavored rice cookies/candy/crackers, but would not do well with a snack that has any spice-- which overwhelms the natural chai flavor in this blend.

This blend is incredibly inventive and plays with so many different flavors. It's fruity, spicy, peppery, and ever so tropical. I find this blend tastes more like Christmastime in my mind's eye than the Christmas blend does.

So pleasantly surprised with this one! Was hesitant with the coconut and pineapple (I generally don't like those flavors), but I LOVE chai, so I want try all of the ones in the Adagio catalog. In the bag, this smells unpleasant, like astringent. But once brewed it has a mild spicy smell. This is delicious, refreshing, the spices blend well together. I also always drink chai with milk and honey, and I thought this one did not need it. I tasted no coconut nor pineapple (which I was happy about) just white tea, slight sweetness from the fruit, and spices. Recommend if you want to try another chai.

I question what the point of having white tea in this at all, since the lemon grass is much more numerous; close to a 2:1 ratio. I don't notice any flavor from the white tea, and seems like all it does is add trace amounts of caffeine. Might as well be a lemongrass herbal chai. That all being said, this is a very nice tea. Lemongrass is the slightly sweet zingy base that holds up to all the spices and fruit pieces added. The spice flavor is sweet and doesn't get too spicy to the point it's overwhelming. Overall a good sweet, zingy chai to have if you don't like darker tea bases or want less caffeine.

I enjoy this tea less than the white ayurvedic chai. Especially when blending with the samurai mate or Gaucho mate chai. It is really very strange it is almost identical to the white ayurvedic chai in terms of ingredients, but the taste is very different, and it is not a substitute. It has flavor I do not like and that doesn’t pair well with other teas. There is a spicy peppercorn flavor along with other chai spices. I do not get notes of lemongrass in this. It is not bad but not awesome.

This reminds me of the white chai I bought from a Teavana store about a decade ago. I had actually bought it and a mate to blend together at the time. Now I'm curious if I could achieve a similar blend with either the chai or the spice mate from here.

The warmth of the Chai greets you with subtle undertones of fruit for a gentle cuppa that will please even the most discerning mouth. White tea, chai spices with lemongrass, coconut, fruit pieces and peppercorn combine for a light-bodied zesty cup. Light yellow with complex notes of lemongrass, fruit and spice that dance on the palate. A fiery kick of the peppercorn lingers in the soft sweetness of the fruit.

the fav tea of my daughters and myself overall. Great for anytime of the day or event.

I love this Chai. The mix of spices provide a well rounded flavor profile. I especially enjoy the kick of peppercorn. Given I enjoy strong flavors, I recommend doubling the recommended brewing amount and serving with a bit of sugar and some milk/cream.
★★★☆☆
The first steep was perfect. An ounce of milk and honey. Peppery, but not overwhelmingly so. Unfortunately the second steep and all other steeps tastes only of lemongrass. I did notice my bag had quite a bit of lemongrass in it, so it could just be me. I do wish I could get a least two steeps out of it.

Whoa! Very pleasantly aromatic before steeping with complex smells prior to steeping. The lemongrass is evident in every sip. As is the sharpness of pepper and the spiciness of the cloves, cardamon, and cinnamon. All of these blend very nicely and there is absolutely no bitterness. I suspect that the apple and coconut help with just a hint of sweet. This is a delicious and flavorful tea.

A lighter, cleaner flavor than a typical chai, but still chai enough, if that makes sense.

This is one of my favorite winter teas. It's good at all seasons, but something about the combination of spice and white tea makes it feel like a tea for short days and long nights. I appreciate that the apple/fruit taste isn't too strong on this one. Instead, the blend of spices complements the light flavor of the white tea quite well. This is an excellent choice for those who enjoy chai flavor profile but prefer a less caffeinated tea. Plus I always resteep my leaves (don't kick me out) and as long as I steep longer the second time, they never lose flavor.
