The cinnamon definitely overpowers anythign else, but unlike black tea cinnamon versions last month, you don't get the bitter black sometimes have. 205 5 minutes, 9 oz.
The rich complexity of oolong tea lays a smooth foundation for a majestic cup, packed with savory spice notes and hypnotic aroma.

This has a spicy kick to it that I wasn't expecting. It must be the enhanced cinnamon. I really don't know but it's very good. Yummy!
Oolong teas are not usually a favorite of mine but, until now, I had never had an oolong chai! Lovely tea with a nice earthy and spicy flavor!
In the CT packet, I mostly smell the 'spicy cinnamon' flavoring, which reminds me of Christmas potpourri/the scented pinecone aisle of the craft store! Rather than do a traditional stovetop brew as with black tea, I just overbrewed slightly at 205 for 5 minutes, then added a splash of milk and about 1/2 tsp of cane sugar.
They're definitely right in labeling this one for 'cinnamon-lovers' - the added cinnamon flavoring is very prominent. I'm usually not a big fan of cinnamon flavoring in tea because it's so often way too strong, but it wasn't *too* overpowering in this blend. Cinnamon is definitely the prominent flavor though, followed by a bit of zip from the ginger and maybe a hint of the syrupy quality of the chicory. I didn't detect much cardamom, cocoa, black pepper, or the oolong itself because the cinnamon really overpowers them.
Overall would probably be a great blend if you're a cinnamon fan; I prefer Adagio's classic masala chai.
I get parts dark and mineral oolong, parts chai. Nice combination tea featuring cinnamon. Not sure if I would rush together again but nice tea.
In the bag: So. Much. Cinnamon bark. It's almost half of my packet. There's plenty of curly brittle oolong, of course. I also see one or two clove buds and some scattered ginger bits. A few peppercorns. No cocoa nibs or cardamom seeds, though.
On the nose (pre-steep): Hello, cinnamon! She's large and in charge. I also get faint background notes of earth and a wood fire. Slightly sweet. Medium intensity.
On the nose (post-steep): Cinnamon is still a dominant flavor, but not as intense as pre-steep. The earthy wood fire note is more prominent. Overall, not an intense scent.
On the tongue (pre-sweetener): A combination of cinnamon and earthy spice. It's hard to distinguish the specific components beyond that. I do get a lingering black pepper kick on my tongue in the sip's aftertaste.
On the tongue (post-sweetener): Cinnamon has receded just a touch. Now the three flavor components are in perfect balance: cinnamon, earthy spice, and black pepper.
Opinion: An excellent and unique tea. It's not for spice weenies, however, so take heed. I like spicy food and drink, so this is right up my alley. And that cinnamon is the perfect flavor to lead this troupe.
Preparation: 5 min @ 212 ℉, ½ tsp monk fruit sweetener
This is a perfect chai to my taste. Absolutely perfect blend of spices in a smooth oolong base. It has high caffeine. I steeped at 212 degrees for 5+ minutes and added some rock sugar ‘cause that’s how I like my chai. I tried it with a little creamer but I prefer it without.
Today's CommuniTea packet is raja oolong chai with oolong tea, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, chicory, cocoa nibs, spicy cinnamon flavor, black peppercorn and cloves. A really nice chai and very smooth oolong. Lovely! Brewed in 12 ounces of 200-degree water for about three minutes. I usually drink tea as is, and don't tend to steep for as long as someone using milk or sugar might.
This is a nice chai even though chai teas are not my favorite. This was lovely with oatmilk and maple syrup.
UPDATED FROM DEC. 22, 2021 DAY 29 Raja Oolong Chai 5stars
I’d forgotten how much I love this blend. I steeped as previously, 5 minutes at 190*F in about 11 oz of water. However, this time I cut back on the sugar by half a tsp (1.5 tsp)
of adagio rock/tea sugar. The flavors were amazing and didn’t disappoint in the least. I do need to try this as a latte. I think it would be amazing, even though it is amazing as is. My 5 star rating for this blend remains.

Recommended Steep 5 minutes @ 212*
I steeped the tea for 5 minutes at 190*F in 12 oz of water and I added 2 tsps of tea sugar.
Usually the chais I’ve had started with a black tea, or more recently roobois base. I think this is the first time I’ve had a chai with an oolong base tea and I was excited to try it. It didn’t disappoint.
This tea smelled amazing upon opening. It had a very strong, spicy aroma. I think it smelled most strongly of cinnamon. Visually, everything seemed to be present. Even after steeping, there was a very nice, spicy aroma and the tea lived up to the promise of the scent. I love most chai teas (now there’s a redundancy for you. ), and this is no exception. I was very disappointment when I finished my sample. I’m going to have to order more.
Raja oolong chai is a delightful blend that isn't overpowering
Fun spicy tea. Smelled a lot like one of those spicy cinnamon teas. Would try again.
So much cinnamon! I’m so happy! Awesome flavor. I‘ll be having this again. And again.
I was trying to find a replacement for a chai that I used to love from a different store, and this came pretty close. It does taste really good, but requires quite a bit of tea to get the flavor I want.
This is a strong, spicy chai tea, with some great flavor. It is very tasty and will be my go-to chai tea.
Raja was a nice chai but it was missing some zing for me… it was smooth and good. My friends likes smooth chai and therefore he found it smooth.
This one's a little confusing. The instructions on my sample packet recommend one teaspoon per 8oz, but one of the Q&As recommend two per 8oz. So.. how much is it? I suspect two per 8oz is correct, because preparing it the way the packet instructs just gives you an oolong taste that overpowers any spices. It's not a bad oolong, but it's not particularly spiced this way. I've deducted an extra star for what I suspect to be inaccurate instructions. By the time I discovered the Q&A, there wasn't enough left to try it at the correct strength.
During my various flavored tea experimentations it became clear while this is by no means a bad blend, it didn't work for me.
I'm a big fan of the chai teas. I really enjoy the rich flavor and tend to drink with just a lil cream. This was no exception. Less astringent than black tea oolong chai is one of my morning Favs
Best Chai ever!! This is so seriously good. I splash of cream or half & half and it takes like heaven in a cup!!
I mix this with a teaspoon each of White Ayurvedic Chai, Sumarai Mate, and sugar, and it makes an amazing cup of tea.
Loved it hot and was perfect with sweet almond milk and ice. A cinnamon base that didn't overwhelm.
Raja AND masala mixed make a delicious cup of tea.
I get sinus migraines quite a bit, and chai tea helps ease them. Raja oolong chai takes it a step further. It's natural caffeine, cinnamon, and heat help clear my sinuses and give me just the right boost to get through the day. Just fill up a thermos, add just a bit of honey and cream, and I've got great natural remedy to aid the Alieve.
Even if I don't have a headache, it is still a personal favorite to have early in the afternoon. Just the right amount of spice and warmth to lift my spirits.
Very good and smooth Chai. Not too spicy just really good
Tastes like a red hot in a cup! I mellow mine out with a splash of cream.
Rich and flavorful! This is exclusively a warm - weather drink for me. I enjoy it hot for a midwinter comfort.
Absolutely delicious, especially paired with the Samurai mate ♡.
This chai has more cinnamon than clove, which I prefer, a bit overwhelming, however. I feel I should have put more than just a splash of milk for my latte.
also surprisingly nice cold and looking forward to trying it in cooler weather
A wonderful chai blend, I mix it with Masala Chai and Samurai Mate.
It's good in small amounts. The cinnamon can be a little overwhelming, but can be mixed with other teas to lessen it.
It is a mild chai. The oolong seems to make the tea leaf flavor stronger than the added spices. I always add cream and sugar. It would be interesting to try it without. I also add a few spices of my own to increase the chai flavor.
Delicious! A great chai tea with a nice aroma and yummy spices.
The spices are so good, but the chicory makes it far too sweet (with no sweetener added by me, fyi, I never add sweeteners to my tea). It reminds me a LOT of 'Bengal Spice', which is also too sweet for me.
If you love cinnamon you’ll love this tea. It’s like big red gum in a drink. It’s amazing
This is a very good chai but not my favorite. I prefer a spicier chai but this was a nice mellow chai
Really good chai. Full of flavor and nice oolong notes.
I absolutely love Adagio teas. There are blends I don't like because, for example, I don't like fruit teas so I don't like their fruit teas. But I love chai teas. So the fact that I didn't really like Adagio's standard chai was pretty disappointing to me. But I just tried this oolong chai and it's everything I could have wanted. I'm newly obsessed. I don't know if the spices are different (I didn't check) or if it's really as simple as the flavor of the tea leaves, but this blend is my new favorite chai tea. The spices are rich and warm and the oolong tastes fresh and green in a way the ceylon does not. I have a room in my house filled with books and plants and drinking this tea sitting in there brings me this happy, cozy feeling. Seriously obsessed.
Yet another delicious chai flavor. I just can’t get enough of the spice!
I think this is my favorite chai so far. It's not too heavy but it is warm and spicy. Good balance of flavors.
The cinnamon on this tea overpowers many of the other notes
Good by itself but added to a blend of equal parts of samurai mate and masala chai oh yes! Originally ordered this as a substitute for Teavana's Maharaja Chai. I think I enjoy this one a better. It is very cinnamony both sent wise and taste.
Strong, spicy chai. This is an excellent chai if you like to add creamer or just enjoy spicy tea
My favorite chai. Lots of cinnamon and spice. Sweet finish too.
Possibly my new favorite chai on Adagio. Great cinnamon flavor that is helping me get through a cold and overly rainy spring.
This is my favorite tea from Adagio! It has spice, isn't bitter, and I can't imagine starting my day without it.
One of my favorites. I love the blend of spices and tea.
This is a potent flavor; but with a bit of milk and topped with cinnamon and sweetener, it's one heck of a treat on a chilly day.
My favorite Chai! There's so many different chais to choose from and it took me a while to find the one for me, and this one is perfect. Just the right amount of spice that it doesn't overwhelm the base tea flavor.
