Sept 24: still one of my favorites
so this really is more of a strong cinnamon tea with spices than a chai. that said, I really love it and ordered more. remains my favorite chai right now.
10/2/25 - Update - I really love this one and have bought the medium bag at least three times. I'm ready to upgrade to the big bag next time! I love the richness of flavor and balance of spices, tho def for a cinnamon lover. I add honey, no milk. Now I do 1 heaping tsp /8oz cup, 3 mins @195-200º first steep, sometiimes higher and longer for the second steep.
12/15/20 - I thought oolong worked well as the base for this tea. The oolong, chicory and cocoa nibs combined to add a nice richness to the chai. Though strongest on the cinnamon and the spicy cinnamon flavor, as reviewed by others, I could taste the other spices, too. I don't like red hots or hot tamales, but I really enjoyed this. Nice plain, even better w/ honey and vanilla almond milk. My CommuniTEA packet only had 1.5 tsps, so to meet the 2 heaping tsps/cup ratio, I had to make less tea than I normally would, and it was gone too quickly, though I guess that means I liked it! (5 mins @ 212º)
This tea was a great way to start the morning with a nice blend of spices that sparkled on my taste buds.
Nice chai scent and pleasant chai flavor. The aftertaste is missing a black tea boldness, but it's still pretty good.
A new favorite that I discovered from the advent calendar I purchased for the holiday season. This is perhaps the best cinnamon infused tea I've ever had. I loved it so much and I've never been much of a chai drinker. What makes the difference, I think, is the oolong tea itself. I don't know what else to say, it just works so well together. I'll definitely be ordering it again.
UPDATE: Even 3 years after my original review (Feb 2022), this tea is still a favorite of mine. If it is ever discontinued, I think I would cry!
Alone, this tea is a pleasant and inoffensive chai. Mixing with Samurai Mate is a real treat and an old favorite.
I can usually get a couple of good infusions out of this blend! I really appreciate the oolong base, as I find the Ceylon black tea blend that adagio uses is too bitter and conflicts with the sweeter spices. I like this blend, but I'm not the biggest fan of chicory, and I don't like the sweet cinnamon flavoring, but overall it is still enjoyable!

It is a very polite, unchallenging chai. The kind you would serve to your granny who thinks orange marmalade is spicy. I prefer my chai on the spice forward, make you sweat, needs milk to mellow it out side of the scale. Your mileage may very. Get the sample and check it out for yourself

I sat smelling it so long I had to reheat my cup. Definitely prefer this one on the sweet side though and hot. Nice bold flavor but the cacao notes don't work for me in cold tea.
I blend Raja Oolong Chai with Samurai Mate and Masala Chai to create a fabulous hot tea. This has easily replaced my old Teavana favorite.
Raja Oolong Chai has a nice balance between the smooth oolong and the spicy chai flavors. The spices come through well without being too strong, and the oolong adds a mild, slightly creamy feel. It’s a good choice if you want chai with a different twist than the usual black tea base. I liked it for a change of pace.
I had never tried this kind of chai before purchasing with Adiago, and I love it. I think the cinnamon comes out more in this chai blend compared to most others.
This tea has a good cinnamon taste to it.
I will be buying this tea again.

This one might be better hot? It seems it would be a nice relaxing warm cup of tea. It was OK as a cold brew just not my favorite
I was expecting a black tea with rich mineral and aromatic profile. What I got was a cinnamon forward beverage with very light flavors of other aromatics. I could not taste the oolong at all.
This Oolong Chai has such a lovely taste. It has become my daily morning cup of tea. Sometimes I mix Samurai Mate. Together they have a great spice and flavor. And the aroma is heavenly.
I liked this Chai tea. I did tend to mix it with other chai teas to mix up the flavors, but it was good.
This is a very good supplemental chai tea to masala. I enjoy eating oatmeal raisin cookies and pumpkin bars with this tea.
I bought this to see if it really is a dupe for the Teavana version I used to drink, and it's pretty accurate. I love the spices, and it feels comforting drinking it.
My go to morning tea. A wonderful mix of chai with a strong cinnamon component. Wonderful with a little bit of italian sweet cream.
This tea is amazing. I love to use this when making my dirty Chai Lattes or just on it's own with a little bit of Oat Milk. Sugar is not necessary as the spicy and sweetness of the cinnamon are very pronounced.
I have been looking for a cinnamon-forward spiced tea for SO LONG, and this got me pretty close to what I was looking for. This is definitely one for the passionate cinnamon fan--cinnamon is the dominant flavor by far, and it does leave some grit at the bottom of the cup. The other spices are more restrained but pleasant; the oolong is a nice slightly toasty base that provides a more neutral contrast to the cinnamon. I usually don't drink this on its own; instead I make a super-powered chai blend with this, the Pu-erh Spice, and the Sweet Cinnamon Spice. It makes for a great clear-the-senses morning cup, especially in cold weather.
A nice chai when steeped with milk/non dairy milk but when drinking plain the cinnamon leaves a bit of an unpleasant aftertaste.
Nicely spiced full body flavor. I let this steep a little longer than normal so I am sure to get a strong cinnamon and spices flavor. Add a little honey and milk or cream and it is just perfect for a cold morning!
This is the best of Adagios black tea chais I have tried. It is a nice balance of spices. What you want a chai to taste like.
The spice, chicory, and coca nibs play nice together. Very satisfying with a little honey and a splash of oatmilk.

This one has too much cinnamon and is unpleasantly spicy even when steeped for 3 minutes. I've been "diluting" it with others tea leaves.

Light and airy flavor combination for your taste pallet. I don't recommend adding much sugar like my granddaughter did lol as she found out the hard way that it makes it much too sweet given the lightness! If you are looking for a change from the heaviness of the dark blends then this is the way to go. It is a real light blend, We are not tasting very much cinnamon in it, maybe just a touch. (and my daughter loves cinnamon but she does not taste much in it. The ginger, cardamom, chicory are the highest notes in this blend in this tea just please do not expect too much cinnamon in this one as it is a much lighter tea flavor.
I originally got a sample packet of this and went straight for the 3 oz bag when I decided to add this to my tea collection; it’s got a nice cinnamon flavor without any of the bitterness that adagio’s Ceylon base tends to have with a lot of their flavored teas. It goes well with milk and sugar. All in all a good cup.
This is a delicious, rich chai. I like to steep 2 tsp of the chai in 8 oz of boiling water. Tsp of sugar. Finish with a dash of half n half.
This is very good- but a little strong. I would normally like that- but I feel the heavy spices would be perfect if mellowed out with some milk and sugar. And I was really hoping I could enjoy this one straight like the Blackberry Sage Oolong...
Decent chai, very well spiced. I felt like the oolong base was less strong than typical chais, which personally I missed.
Love oolong, so for the winter months the ROC is my go-to warming drink. Seems to have less-caff than other teas, so fine to drink in the evening for me.
My new favorite tea from adagio. I discovered it from my adagio advent calendar. It’s very spicy and is probably my favorite chai offered by this company.
I make a 1:1 blend of Raja Oolong Chai & Samurai Mate every day to wake me up and it's incredible. They longer you steep it, the better it is and it's even delicious when cold!
It's all about the cinnamon with this tea. If you like cinnamon, you will probably like it. If you don't, you probably won't. I do wish it had a little more complexity but I still like it especially on a cold winter day.
This one is a nice cinnamon tea but that’s the primary flavor I’m getting. I did add some sugar, small amount since the tea is pretty sweet from the cinnamon, and some frothed milk. I don’t taste the oolong or many of the other chai spices in this one. This would be a good choice for someone that thinks a lot of the cinnamon spice teas are too strong. It’s much less bitey and more smooth.
As the name suggests this is a rich and regal blend of Oolong. Brew a cup of this when you're looking to relax and indulge a little.
Updated 11/22/24 - I just got the latest order of my favorite tea and it is weak and flavorless. What happened to the cinnamon and cloves? I have been drinking this tea for years and I had some yesterday and thought I had grabbed the wrong tea. It isn't the same at all. What did they change?
My favorite tea out of the ones I've tried. Even after a second seep it still holds it's flavor.
