I like the spiciness of this chai. It oddly reminds me of Cocola without the sugar and effervescence.
'Masala' means 'blend of spices' and 'chai' is simply 'tea.' Inviting fragrance, invigorating flavor, warm finish.

I like the spiciness of this chai. It oddly reminds me of Cocola without the sugar and effervescence.
This was ok. Maybe I am too used to the uber-sweet chai lattes you get at Starbucks, but it was a bit clovey for me. Maybe I will try a few more :)
This is a good tea, but my least favourite of the chai blends I've tasted from adagio. It wasn't very strong, but I'm hoping brewing it in milk will bring the flavours out better.
This, for me, is the perfect mix of spices in a chai. Strong enough to stand up to milk and still leave my tongue tingly, it is a wonderful, feel-good cup of the tea that got me interested in teas in the first place. Definitely the best basic chai I've found. A !
Oh yes, I really enjoyed this tea. I drink my tea without milk, but it's still good that way. It's a great spiced tea that doesn't taste anything like a holiday tea.
This was delicious! Good both hot and cold. Usually not a chai person, but this won me over!
A pretty good chai! Not as spicy as my favorite, but still delicious.
One of the best Chai teas I have known. Lush flavor and spice. I'd like more emphasis on the clove tone but overall this is a solid cup of tea.
This is the first chai I've tried from Adagio and I am very impressed. I brewed as directed and this tea is simply excellent. The flavor combines with the aroma as I drink it giving me a very pleasant experience.
decent chai, I'm not a huge chai fan to begin with but this isn't a tea I would buy again
This is such a perfect chai. I love it and want to make all of my friends try it! Wowowowwow!
The only reason this gets a 'OK' rating, rather than a 'Bad' rating, is that it really does taste okay...after I picked out nearly all the cloves. It was really heavy on the cloves, and did not not at all good if I left them in. However, picking all the cloves out myself before brewing was a hassle I'd prefer not to repeat. While I do generally like chai teas, I will not be trying this one again unless they remove/drastically reduce the amount of cloves in this one.
I got this with my chai sampler knowing full well I would love it. I've ordered it in the past and it has become my base for chai teas. It seems to be a sweeter tea, but I usually drink mine with a pinch of sugar or honey so it wasn't a big deal for me. Many times I've found that I'm on my second or third cup and have completely forgotten to add more sweetener just because the spice flavor is so full bodied. Definitely not for someone who likes a subtle tea, but also great in blends. When I want to tweak the flavor I will add a bit to my english breakfast or pur eh dante.
If you like the strong flavor of clove, you will like this tea. This is a tea that would taste good paired with spiced baked goods, primarily anything apple. I found it a little too strong to enjoy by itself. Definitely a holiday tea.
Amazing! I like to brew it by simmering the tea directly in a pot of milk for ~7 minutes, and add sugar. So much better than a chai latte from starbucks.
This tea is best when made properly, simmered in milk. However, if you find yourself without the time to simmer chair properly, as I do most days, it's just as fantastic steeped like a regular tea. A little honey, and you've got yourself a comfortingly spicy cup.
A warm, yummy, spicy chai that I always drink with milk and a bit of sweetener. Perfect fr winter!
This is my go-to tea whenever i want some tea to drink
Okay chai, definitely not my favorite but not the worst either.
YUMMY, YUMMY, YUMMY! This stuff was fantastic. I could taste the spices and it was definitely a pick-me-up.
I wouldn't recommend this one to anyone that didn't care for a strong clove component to their spiced chai. It's definitely the most prominent flavor in this blend. It's definitely robust--able to stand up to quite a bit of milk and sugar and produce a rich brew. Next time I might steep for a little longer than the 5 minutes recommended on the bag.
This is hands down one of the best chai teas I've tasted. It's not too strong or overpowering, though the cloves are what I taste the most (which I like). It makes an awesome chai tea latte! The only down side is that you have to use twice as much as other teas in order to get a strong enough cup. So technically, using twice the amount of tea means you're paying twice as much as other teas, and you go through the bag twice as fast. In a sense, it's worth it for a great chai tea, but I just thought I would point that out. Still a great tea though!
Exceptionally exquisite tea. Will be buying more of this.
This tea makes the best chai I have ever had. Really nice spice to it. Makes wonderful lattes!
Very nice, warm and spicy. Hard to go wrong with chai for me.
This one was good. I am relatively new to Chai's, but the rooibos vanilla was far and away better for me.
The best ever. Eye-opening morning tea! Addictive!
How could you possibly go wrong with a chai tea? This stuff just tastes amazing.
A wonderful, strong chai. Definitely a go to Chai. Just remember lots of honey and milk make the experience all the better.
A very nice chai. Perfect steeped straight, with milk, or with half and half.
A very strong spice smell. Great for spice lovers who love cinnamon bark and cloves. I personally think that spices such as these are not the greatest of flavors in tea, but overall a spice lover would enjoy Masala Chai.
Warm with a good mouthy feel. Not my favorite but I am more of a blend girl - but still not bad for chai.
Perfect amount of spice, perfect for that cuppa to wake you up in the morning.
This is a good chai for me. Nice and spicy with a lovely scent. I drink it straight, without added milk, sugar, etc.
Very strong smell as well as taste, which is good when you want a truly flavorful tea.
This one is tricky. Adagio goes a little heavy on the cloves so my first cup was a full on chai assault. But adjusting the steeping time and picking out a few cloves (I steep for around five minutes, two cups at a time, no more than two whole cloves per cup) it came out absolutely fantastic! But that just may be my preference as well. Will most definitely be buying again.
Okay, this probably totally negates the health benefits of tea, but if you add a shot of good dark rum (e.g., Pussers, Goslings black seal) and a tad of evaporated cane juice sugar to this or the rooibos vanilla chai... YUM! Better than a hot buttered rum on a cold, cold night! :)
this makes a fantastic chai latte -- easily just as good if not better than the ones you can buy at coffee shops
I love chai. This one has the strong spice flavour that I like.
Great tea, mixed it with the Christmas blend and had a really good chai blend.
I loved the ginger pieces in this tea. It really brightened and lifted this masala from other chai's. It was spicy and flavorful
This Masala Chai is a mixture of Ceylon black tea with warming cinnamon, cardamom, cloves and ginger. Making this a great Chai! I always put at least 1/2 milk and 1/2 water and sugar to taste in any Chai i drink.
A solid chai tea. Good for every day use. Has a very good aroma and a strong taste.
A little more spicy than I'm used to, but still quite good.
A very strong chai. Smells great in the bag and steeped, though I don't recommend oversteeping this one, as it became pretty bitter when I tried, even after adding milk and honey.
Tastes like authentic Indian thai, like you'd get at a restaurant.
compared with the apple chai it lacks a bit of zing but it is a great tea nevertheless
This tea could pretty easily be renamed 'Clove' and it would be very fitting. That's a good thing because I love the aroma and flavor of cloves. I love this tea but I would need to be in a pretty particular mood for it.
This tea was spicy and rich, and a lot more convenient for me than picking up the spices (cardamon pods, etc) and boiling it in a pot the 'right' way. While this may not be the 'authentic' way to make chai, I really enjoyed it. In addition, not steeping it in milk made it much less rich and thus a lot lighter.
This isn't a bad masala chai by any means, but it also isn't much different from many others I've tasted. The spices blend well, as none overpower each other, and it makes a great cup with milk and honey. Worth a try.
