While I get an intense chai flavor, I'm really a fan of the mate.
If you are looking for a mate with Chai flavors, this tea is great. I didn t find it different enough from many of Adagio s other Chais to feel I need to order it in a bigger bag.
A very excellent chai flavor with the extra burst of caffeine from a mate. Did mix it with the mocha nut mate and it was delicious
Not wild about it. But that maybe only my taste. I am sure that mate lovers will enjoy it
when you want spicy chai and a kick in the butt to start moving in the morning, this is a good tea for that! Haha!
Fragrant, inviting, warm and perky, Gaucho Mate Chai was tastier than I’d imagined it would be. And it gave me a clean alertness different from the compulsive stimulation ordinary coffee gives.
It s ok - I think I like chai a bit stronger, so maybe I prefer it with black tea?

This might be my Adagio go to chai. So far I've tried the Chocolate Chai (three stars, too bitter without sweetener) and the Masala Chai (four stars, good but perhaps a little too clove-y). The Gaucho Mate Chai is the best of the three. I found it to have a nice balance, not overhanded on cloves and stronger on cinnamon, which I prefer. Very smooth and the mate is a nice pick me up!
I couldn't really tell a difference between this and the regular chai blend available from Adagio. That said it is still a good chai flavor and makes a good chai latte, just like the other chai blends do.
Nice tasting chai blend. The toasted mate gives a slight nutty flavor.
Not my favorite chai but I always love the opportunity to try new teas with the sample packs.
I can drink this all day. I love the spice and it has a touch of sweetness, so it doesn’t need sugar or honey
A really lovely chai that's on the mild side but still spicy enough to satisfy. Gorgeous with almond milk and maple syrup.
One of my favorites. I love a good Mate. Adding Chai to this makes a good thing even better. A little milder than the Masala Chai but still a very good tea.
Clove and cinnamon. What's not to like? Delicious with milk as well.
The flavor of this is really rich and nice. I love the spice and complexity. I am also a coffee drinker, so this gets some of the stronger flavors I like.
I love Blueberries, but this was good but not my favorite tea.

I love this one as a latte! The mate makes it more earthy but it s still delicious and a fun twist on a chai
Absolutely fantastic. The chai spice in this is absolutely perfect for my taste, and I love the even keeled energy I get from the mate.
Adagio recommended this tea, and I am happy to report that it is as delicious as the description sounded. I've tried grocery-store bought yerba mate before and found it drinkable but bland. This tea rectified that problem perfectly. The spices in this mix are well balanced, with the cloves being almost (but not quite) too much - I could definitely taste them, but they did not overpower the other flavors.
I was miserable with allergies this morning, and while, no, I'm not writing that this tea was a miraculous cure-all (don't we all wish), it did perk me up quite a bit. This one's definitely going into the regular rotation.

I love this tea cold brewed, unsweetened or with just a tad of agave nectar...spicy and nutty, toasted flavors! Or drink it hot as a latte.

My favorite of all the chai teas I ve ordered from here. They ve all been good but this particular chai has a great kick to it, which is my favorite quality in a chai.

I bought two teas, including this one, as well as a couple of sample sizes. These are the things that were best about this company: 1) I received the ordered teas in less than 24 hours. 2) The teas were available as loose or bagged teas. 3) I could order sample sizes at a nominal cost to check them out, and 4) All of the teas that I tried are really good. I am almost done with the teas I purchased and I will definitely be making another order soon.
This is a great chai tea with a very unique flavor.
This was really good! I think it would be excellent mixed with the Vanilla Chai to add a little more sweetness and depth. Will definitely order again!

Eh. There isn't very much to it except cinnamon. I'd love a chai of any kind that isn't totally overpowered by the cinnamon. It was very hard to taste any mate at all. :(
I love a good Chai tea but this is NOT it. It tasted more like weeds or grass to me than anything else. Brewed per package instructions and ewwwww
I had never heard of Yerba Mate before my order but the description was intriguing. The taste is an acquired one.
So far I’m not so sure. I’m keeping an open mind and I may revise my score upwards after future steepings. I will admit this mate provides a real pick-me-up. So, if you’re looking for something with the kick of coffee...
