Earthy-sweet (not sugary), warming and smooth. This is now on my regular purchasing menu.
A nice chai, but I found the overall flavor to be a bit milder than I’d like, even after steeping longer than 5 minutes
Let me start by saying that this tasted like apple cinnamon chai and no hint of chocolate except the dry tea smell. That being said this is delicious! Excellent with a bit of sweetness added in and goon on its own. Maybe I got the wrong tea in my bag. @adagioteas
We do enjoy a spice tea as well as a few chocolate flavored black teas so we thought this combination would be worth trying. So we tried it. It was just OK. The combination of spice and chocolate did not go down that well.
This reminds me a lot of the S'mores Chai from Davids Tea. A nice blend of chai spices and chocolate flavour. I really like this!
Yum! Chocolate and spices for the win! It is great plain, or you can add sweeteners and milk/cream to jazz it up.
The first time I tried this I steeped it like adagio's masala chai (2 teaspoons for ~7 minutes) and got a cup full of delicious spice but absolutely NO chocolate. I love adagio's masala, but I never really thought of it as 'spicy' and never really understood other people who referred to chai teas as such... until I over-steeped this one. Turns out I LOVE too-spicy tea.
My second try I followed adagio's recommended method (1 teaspoon for 3 mins) and it tasted like chocolate masala, which was pretty great but quite different.
If you want an actually-spicy chai, get this and brew it like masala. If you want chocolatey mild chai/black tea, brew as instructed. Both taste great; I've settled on 1 heaping teaspoon for 5 mins for the best of both worlds.
This tea will satisfy you with spice and a hint of chocolate!
I always need this tea in my rotation! It has a beautiful blend of chai spice and chocolate flavors. It's good black or with cream.
Adagio makes great chai teas and great chocolate teas. I knew I couldn't go wrong when I got this.
I barely drink chai but this was a nice surprise. The smell was invigorating and the taste was a pleasant surprise!
My mother-in-law loves this tea, so I get it for her frequently. I don't notice the chocolate flavor as much as I notice the strong ginger flavor of this tea. It makes a very soothing cup of tea.
Pretty spicy, the chocolate is also good, I just wished there was a bit more chocolate.
This is more cinnamon-y than the masala chai, so be sure to keep that in mind if you don't LOVE cinnamon. I really enjoy it with a bit of milk
Smells strongly of chocolate and cinnamon. Steeped for 4 minutes. It tastes how it smells, but with some chai spice to it.
I don't know what ingredients it is, but this tea had a sharp taste to it and I stopped after a few sips.
Following the exact recommended volume (1 tsp leaves per c of water), 3 min steep @ 212F produced a rather weak tea. The aroma is fantastic though the scent is distinctively Chai with hints of chocolate. Yeah, it is what it says it is! I added a largeish splash of a sweetened creamer, instead of milk & honey. The result was a slightly watery chai latte. My next cup is definitely going to steep longer, and I may increase the leaf to water ratio as well.
Even this slightly watery chai is better tasting (not to mention cheaper) than going to Dunkin or Starbucks. I ll update the review, probably to 5 stars, after my next cup. @adagioteas
This one was good, though a bit too cinnamon for my taste. I now know that I prefer my chais with no natural cinnamon flavor as it can overwhelm the other flavors.
This is a nice variation on Chai for chocolate lovers.
It’s good. I think it’s better in blends personally. I really like it with almond oolong or cream tea

This one is nice and chocolatey, best with a sweetener and cream. I love chai teas and I was a little disappointed in the very light chai flavor. I was hoping for a chai punch along with creamy chocolate, but it was more of a seasoned black tea with chocolate.

I dig it. A chai any day is delicious and this one is extra flavored.
It smelled a bit like Christmas pudding. The chocolate plus cloves and cinnamon is a strange mix. It's not a 'dark' chocolate taste - it's lighter, towards vanilla. It is overall a good chai if you're looking for something a little different. I wouldn't say I get a rich chocolate flavor from it, though. Not my favorite.

Chocolate chai is a blend of black tea, cinnamon, ginger, cocoa nibs, cinnamon and chocolate flavors. It doesn't taste particularly chocolatey - think background notes, rather than actual chocolate flavor - but I'm almost always onboard for a nice pot of chai. 8.1 grams of tea steeped in 32 ounces of 200 degree water for three minutes.
I was never a chai fan before but I have been loving them recently.
This was a decent chai, personally I find the Pu-erh version to be more flavorful.
I usually drink this tea in equal shares of black cherry and chocolate chai. Delicious!

A likable tea, but Raja Oolong Chai is still my favorite chai. The chocolate taste is very mild though I think it does tone down the spices a bit-- fine with me because ginger isn't my favorite. I taste the cinnamon and the ginger with the chocolate only lending a faint sweet melding influence.
Delicious chai blend that has just enough chocolate to satisfy without overwhelming the chai.
This was so good! I will definitely be purchasing it again. I recently have been getting into chai and this is the first one I ordered. The other two where from local cafes. I can’t compare it to Starbucks because I never go there. But I can say it is better then tazo from the grocery store.

I like Chai! I liked this one, but was hoping for a stronger spice flavor. I'm used to the chai concentrates with a peppery flavor and this is not like that. The chocolate is subtle and I will make again, giving it a slightly longer steep and will add a splash of milk next time.
Not my favorite, but I am not the biggest fan of chai. I understeep it or it gets a weird mouthfeel.
I love spicy tea but hate cloves (as well as being allergic to them). Love this Chai because it doesn't have cloves in it but have the warm spiciness of cinnamon and ginger.

Like most of Adagio's chai teas, this too is very cinnamon forward. I prefer to steep all black teas at 195 x 2 1/2 - 3 min to try to avoid bitterness. I preferred this tea with added Monkfruit sweetener and a chocolate flavored creamer to amp up the chocolate taste. Blending it with other chocolate teas may work well too.
Delicious! I love chai teas and this is one of my favorites! The balance of the chocolate flavor and the chai spice is perfect.
This combination of chocolate and Chai is not something that I would have ever thought to create, but the genius who did come up with this combo is spot on! This is a very comforting, almost indulgent treat that I can't get enough of. I love most Chai teas, and this one is extra special. I highly recommend you give it a try!
