Not disappointing. Tastes like very light hot chocolate. Wish it were stronger and that the chocolate didn't overwhelm the chai too much.
Exotic Masala Chai flavors from India paired with dark chocolate. Soothing cocoa, zesty warmth, seamless texture.

Not disappointing. Tastes like very light hot chocolate. Wish it were stronger and that the chocolate didn't overwhelm the chai too much.
This is so warm and smooth. I brewed it for a little longer than recommended, just an extra minute, to get it a little spicier. Absolutely perfect.
Sweet and Spicy. If you like chai you will love the chocolate chai. Try it with some amber sugar crystals and cream. Very rich.
I've just started getting into chai teas, and I love this one! I like my teas on the sweet side, so this was perfect for me. Spicy, but not TOO spicy.
I wish the chocolate flavor was deeper on this one. It didn't deserve the name Chocolate Chai to me, but perhaps a dash of Soy milk would help bring it out. I definitely plan on making a blend of this and other chocolate flavored teas.
This tea is beautiful. I got it as a part of a free sample and I would do it again.
Upon opening the package, you're hit with a very strong aroma of cinnamon. Cinnamon happens to be my least favorite spice, but chai is my very favorite tea. Good Earth teas has discontinued their Cocoa Chai, so I am questing for a replacement.
I prepared the tea with hot (not boiling) water in a french press (I press VERY lightly to avoid squeezing the bitterness from the leaves). I added some Stevia (not too much) and steeped for approximately three minutes. I did not add milk.
This tea has a nice, not overpowering, flavor. The cinnamon is a bit strong for my tastes, but the chocolate adds a nice balance to it. I think it's definitely more spice than chocolate, though, which doesn't quite suit my fancy for a chocolate chai.
Overall, it's a nice chai, but I wouldn't recommend it if you're just in it for the chocolate. The flavors blend quite well, but the cinnamon makes it a bit too autumnal in my book, especially once the tea cools.
Chai and chocolate, what more can I really say? A brilliant blend of my two favourite things.
Didn't like it very much. My sister was a big fan, but I couldn't bear finishing my cup.
I loved it so much! It had a really nice flavor and a beautiful aroma. I'll probably buy a larger amount at some point. :)
Adagio's Masala Chai is one of my favorite teas, I also really like some of the blends I've tried that have chocolate in them. However this tea didn't really impress me. The package smell is wonderful but it just doesn't translate to the tea - with or without milk. In the future I'll stick to the Masala Chai.
I didn't get the 'chocolate' flavor as much as I thought, based on the scent of it, but I liked that. It smelled a little grassy while it was brewing, but that's wasn't how it tasted. My only complaint was the amount that it took to get the full flavor, but that isn't really controllable. Enjoyable, but just not to my tastes enough to get more than a sample.
i received this sample as a gift from adagio. not a huge chocolate in my tea fan, but who knows by the end of this sample or if i blend with my other loose teas...
It could use more chocolate flavor...but it is an ok chai.
I'm glad I didn't spend any money on this (It was a free sample). It was a bit too spicy for me, helped a bit when I added milk but not really something I'd try again. I didn't get the taste of chocolate- the spiciness was too overpowering.
I was not a big fan of it, so I gave the sampler to a coworker and she loved it.
I love chocolate chai!! It's more mellow than the masala chai, and it has great notes of dark chocolate. I love it paired with the Pumpkin Spice tea!
Smells lovely. Alleviates all stress at first sip. Wonderful with or without milk. All-around excellent winter tea.
Not quite as chocolate-y as I was expecting, but certainly a nice mild chai that isn't too overwhelming as far as spiciness like some chais can be.
I'm a fan of chai teas, but typically try to steer away from pairings that include chocolate. However, I received a sample of this, and I have to say that it pleasantly surprised me. It's spicy and rich, with a real warmth to it. I still think I prefer my chai mostly unfettered-with, but this stuff is a good showing.
Very good! I'm not a big fan of chocolate chai together most of the time, but this worked out well.
Well, the chai here is of average, Ok quality, nothing outstanding. The hint of chocolate makes it a good combination, actually. I've never tried chai with chocolate before, so this was interesting to get one as a sample. Probably would still prefer my chai 'as is' - it has a lot of flavors regardless additives or their lack. Good 'winter' option.
Recommendations? You'll never know till you try. Simply Ok for me.
The perfect blend, spicy and chocolatey. I love it!
It's chai...but chocolatey. Exactly what you'd expect.
I really enjoyed this one. This was a lovely midday treat at work that had the ladies at work asking 'What is that? It smells good...'
This is a wonderful tea to drink after dinner. I love to add a little bit of sugar and milk for a yummy treat.
A spicy, chocolate lover's dream come true. Great blend.
Absolutely wonderful! It is amazingly spicy! Its taste is both smooth and sharp, likely due to the mix of chocolate and cinnamon/cardamom elements. This will probably become a staple for every order I place through Adagio.
I love chocolate, and I really do love chocolate chai, so I loved this. :)
This tastes great! Definitely try it with some cream!
This has become my new winter tea. I mix it about 2 parts chocolate chai with 1 part caramel flavored, add a couple teaspoons of sugar and holy cow its good.
A perfect combo for a chai tea. Love the chocolate and the fact that it's not quite as spicy as other chai tea. I'm thinking I will try this one iced as well!
I mix this one with the Apple chai which one of the girls recommended. It's great with a little milk and sweetner.
So great to comehome to the smell of my husband brewing this flavor.even just the smell makes me happy and relaxed from a long day.
Too much cinnamon, and looking at the ingredients, it does not have the true character that one expects in a chai tea. Disappointing. However, I added some Masala Chai to it, and it made it much better.
Nice, spicy, chocolatty tea. Needs a little milk and sugar.
I made this with dark chocolate almond milk and it was really good. This is my first chocolate chai. Great for a cold winter night.
This tea is amazing! I love chocolate and spices, and this chocolate chai is the perfect balance. I like to fill my cup 1/2 with water for steep, then add hot milk and a little brown sugar. Only way it could be better is if I had a milk steamer!!!
Chocolate Chai is so good! It has a great chocolate-gingerbread flavor and is amazing iced!
really good, spiced with cinnamon and has a cocoa flavor. Not really chocolate, but cocoa.
It tastes like Christmas. If it is snowing or cold outside, this is the perfect tea for the occasion. My roommate also blended this tea with an equal part of decaf vanilla and a hint of white pear, and it enhanced the flavor of this tea, making the characteristic spice of the Chai slightly less overpowering.
I wasn't too sure about this as I'm use to a more traditional chai tea. I was pleasantly surprised. This will definitely be on my reorder list!
Very similar to the Mycroft blend, as the chocolate, cinnamon, and ginger stand out most in that tea. It's pretty much what makes that blend good!
Not my favourite... Don't let that stop you, though. It has a nice flavour, but wasn't my personal... (Excuse the pun) ... cup of tea. It has an almost overpowering chocolate taste that rooted out all chai taste. Don't over-steep! It isn't a forgiving tea!
Weaker chai than others, with a powdery cocoa taste. Like a lighter version of Mexican hot chocolate.
What a great tea oh my gosh. Mix it with a tea with a bit of spice and it gets that much better. Great alone, fantastic in the right blend.
My first chai tea, I am in love with it. Coconut milk makes it extra special yummm!!
Nice chocolate taste just right, and the spice has a nice kick to it but not enough to over power the tea !!
Mild chocolate flavor meets mildly spiced chai. If you like the delicate layers of chai blends, this is a great mix. I was interested to taste this in regards to brewing with a milk frother for lattes (use more mix to flavor milk vs water). While this isn't a replacement for a hot chocolate, it can be improved with melted chocolate, choc. milk, or pure vanilla extract. If you want to try chai for the first time (and may be iffy on the spiciness of ginger and cloves), this is a good, mellow starter.
Yum! This is the way to go as far as chai tea goes! Chocolate in tea is a winner!
