This is the tea that started my Adagio experience. I tried it at a meeting I attended and have been hooked ever since. Still one of my favorite teas.

★★★★★

This one is my absolute favorite I drink it every morning. If you like spice tea like masala chai you’ll love this one!

I wasn’t as thrilled with this particular chocolate flavoring in this tea but it’s still really good!!

I really enjoy this tea, you can taste the Chocolate

This is a very decadent yummy tea my guilty pleasure tea made into a latte with whipped extra creamy oat milk. I love this tea!!! Top favorite tea.

★★★★☆

I love pu-erh teas and this is no exception. A good flavor.

★★★★★

I enjoy the smoothness of Pu-erh tea, but this one was a delightful surprise full of spice and cocoa flavors, perfect for a very early cool morning. It was a great beverage with cranberry orange scones. I am looking forward to this when winter comes back around!

A lighter and smoother cocoa flavour compared to the standard chocolate chai Adagio sells, good if the original was a bit too heavy for you! I like both equally, but those who are more cautious of intense flavours would fare better with this one.

I wanted to like this one more than I did, unfortunately. I'm a big, big fan of Adagio's chorange pu erh and hazelberry pu erh, but with this blend, the earthy pu erh-ness didn't come through for me at all. Nor did the chocolate flavor. It tasted mostly like a generic chai tea, and my bag was especially ginger heavy. Sooo much ginger and a thinner bodied flavor than I hoped for.

Updated to add: This becomes 5/5 when blended with Adagio's caramel black tea.

Love the combination of chocolate, cinnamon, spices and pu erh flavors. This mix is a wonderful combination of flavors. Brewed hot and sugar always added!

This is my go-to morning tea, I absolutely love it.

Am a huge chai tea person and this is a great mix of chai with chocolate. The rep in the store who recommended it said Pu-Erh can steep for extended times without burning so that sold me! I use sweet creamers in my chai teas so it's a delicious sweet treat!

Very unique flavour; nutty and rich. There is a great earthy note.

A delicious chocolate chai, the flavors work very well together. I usually have it with the whipped chocolate honey. I would recommend this for anyone that likes a sweeter cup of tea.

I'm slowly coming around to pu-erh, I love this tea because the chai doesn't overpower the chocolate. It all mixes so well

This tea satisfies my tea craving but not much chocolate taste.

It is a bit strong on the chai side, but makes a really nice latte.

This tea doesn’t have as strong of a chocolate flavor as I thought. The chai feels a little over powered.

I couldn't taste the chocolate in this one at all, and could only smell it faintly in the packet (sample size). It had a somewhat fish-like flavor (in a bad way) that overpowered the spice, even though it didn't smell like that in the packet or in my cup.

The scent of chocolate, cinnamon, ginger, cloves and cardamon prior to steeping is fabulous and an irresistible combination that excites my nose...the scent remains after steeping. Oh joy! The flavor is undescribably wonderful and my tongue rejoices. This tea blend is definitely a favorite.

I really like the balance of chocolate, bitter tea, and spices on this one. I've been experimenting with different types of chai throughout the winter, and am glad I tried this one. Will purchase again!

I tried this as a Communitea sample. I didn't expect to like it, especially based on the initial smell. However, I ended up liking it so much that I steeped my sample several times, and ultimately ordered some.

Really yummy chai, the chocolate flavor is great, didn t really detect the pu-erh much but it made a great base for this tea.

A good substitute for when my beloved Chocolate Chai was sold out for a time.

Wanted to keep with my chocolate trend today (the communiTea tea today was chocolate chai). And wanted something new after work. So this seemed like a good choice. Enjoyed the rich and spiced aroma with the chocolate mixed in. It was a bit stronger than the earlier chocolate chai with a bit more of a bite to it.

This a very smooth tea that is easy to drink. It’s got a bit of a spice kick to , with just a hint of chocolate to hit. I think I would want to let it steep a little longer (much like I do with the Chocolate Chai) and maybe even use a bit more of tea to water ratio. I steeped it lower than I meant to (apparently more tired than I realized) so would go up to 205° next time, though wouldn’t go up to 212° as I tend to find a bit of unwanted bitterness occurring when I go up that high with black teas. In any case there will be a next time, as this one I can see myself interchanging with the chocolate chai depending on my spice taste for the day.

Neither the chai spices or the chocolate are too strong, making a nice blend of the flavors. I like it with a little cream and sweetener for a latte like cup of tea.

★★★★★

This smells and tastes amazing. Especially with the chocolate whipped honey!

★★★★☆

I really liked this pu erh tea. It cancelled out all taste of pu erh, which I usually don't like. I brewed the tea with no rinse beforehand. Notes of cinnamon and it seemed like cardamom came through. I was pleasantly surprised that I did not taste an overly strong flavor of cinnamon or spiciness like I have drinking some other brand's chai teas. I also tasted sweetness at the bottom of the cup from the chocolate chips and cocoa nibs. This will definitely be a to-go to pu ehr tea for me from now on. Really sweet and delicious with no need for added cream or sugar.

A very nice balance of spices, sweet chocolate and earthy pu-erh. It takes a heaping amount to brew it strong, but the flavors are worth it.

My absolute favorite chai tea! I bought teabags my first order but switched to loose tea so I could make a stronger brew as I use a mug and didn't want to use multiple teabags.

this sounds absolutely amazing! i love this tea so i am extremely excited to get it :)

Now I know, the Pu Erh line is not my style. This tea tasted like I had dropped a chocolate bar on the ground and then ate it without brushing all of the dirt off. My husband thought more highly of it than I did, but I'll steer clear of the Pu Erh's from now on.

This tea has a lovely chocolatey, spicy aroma that's amazing while it's brewing.
Hot, with no sweetener or cream, the flavour itself is quite mild but has a nice bite to it. You cannot really taste the chocolate at this point.
Once sweetened the chocolate comes out more.
I put in a splash of half and half, hoping to bring out the flavours more, which it did :)
Update: Once cooled the chocolate really melds nicely with the chai.
Overall, this makes a lovely cuppa, especially after it has cooled down a bit.

A really delicious spicy chai! Add a little milk and some sugar and it's a delightful treat. The only reason I don't give it a 5 star is that I don't get much chocolate from it.

I was pleasantly surprised by the chocolate chai pu erh. In the past I tried the regular chocolate chai and it missed the mark for me - I found that flavor too bitter. Perhaps it's due to the smoothness of pu erh, but this chocolate chai is so much nicer on the palate. The chai spices and dark chocolate combine for a perfect cup of spicy warmth. I will purchase the larger size now that my sample is finished.

★★★★☆

There is a lot going on (in a good way) with this tea--the earthiness of the pu-erh, spiciness of chai, and subtle hint of chocolate. I steeped at 200°F x 5 minutes, with no pre-rinse. My CommuniTEA packet didn't contain any chocolate chips, so to boost the chocolate flavor, I added a tablespoon of Criobru to my second cup. You could also add cocoa powder or chocolate chips. The chocolate compliments the mild chai flavors, and a bit of sweetener further intensifies the flavors and elevates the tea to a dessert. Very smooth and flavorful tea. Would love to try it blended with cream and ice.

I don't really get chocolate with this tea. Taste mostly like a cinnamon chai, still good though.

I’ve always bought simple puerh and blended it with other stuff...this was the first time I tried an adagio blended puerh. LOVE IT! Fragrant cinnamon-cardamom, creamy chocolate, earthy puerh...they were all there in my communitea packet today. Very enjoyable.

I did not enjoy this tea. The dominant flavor in this blend is chocolate, followed by the extremely musty taste of adagio pu erh (which I do not enjoy). The spice flavors play only a background note.

I was a little underwhelmed by this tea. The cinnamon and ginger stole the show, and while I hoped that the pu-erh would bring a deep, earthy flavor to tame all the spice... it just didn't. It was two steps up from drinking spiced water, more like a third steep of black tea where the tea flavor is almost all gone, but barely hanging on. There was one chocolate chip in my packet, so I added a few more, but I still didn't really notice any chocolate flavors while drinking it. Overall it was fine, I just don't think I would go out of my way to drink it again. (reviewed through CommuniTEA; 5 min @ 200F)

This is my least favorite tea of February. It had a very spicy smell. I didn’t smell or taste chocolate. For me it was an overly strong peppery taste and not at all enjoyable.

This was one of the better pu-erh's that I've had so far, but I'm basing that solely on it not having a fishy taste and/or smell. There's hints of chocolate with a light chai, which equates to an interesting cup of tea. Brewed at 200°F for 5 minutes.

Yet another odd example of how I like flavored pu-erh but not unflavored. I loved this!
When I opened my communitea packet I got a strong whiff of cinnamon, and only cinnamon. Upon inspection of the tea I seemed to have all ingredients in my sample, including 2 lil chocolate chips - I plucked hose out b/c I planned on doing a quick rinse first. I did my rinse (I am overly cautious of pu-erhs so I did dump the rinse), added the choc.chips back in & continued on with a full steep.
When hot, what I mostly tasted was chai spice - a lil heavy on the cinnamon, but not at ‘red hot’ levels. As it cooled chocolate flavors bloomed, the earthy pu-erh helped deepen those flavors. There was still spice hanging out, but it didn’t overpower the chocolate flavor. A really good combo - chocolate & spice.
These flavors stood up to a second steep. I take sugar in just about all my tea, so that’s how I prepared this one, but I also tried it with a bit of cream, which went so well with these flavors.
I would try this again.

Part of the February 2021 CommuniTEA box. I think I prefer the regular chocolate chai - the spice seems to linger a little too long in this one. Still tasty, though.
