I enjoyed the Chai flavor with the chocolate essence. It was a bit strong on the clove notes.

I'm a big fan of Chocolate in Puerh in general as I feel it blends well with the highly oxidized tea, and this was a nice one! It is quite spicy but certainly not in a bad way. I tried mine with just sugar and no cream, but I bet this would be nice as a Chai Latte too. Steep: 3min @ 212

This is a lovely Chai and I would highly recommend! Very forward spice flavors without being overwhelming. And it smells amazing. Enjoy!

1 choc chip in my packet. So I missed the purpose of the tea. I love Chia and this had good spice, just missed the reason for this blend. Might try a sample pack next time.

I expected that I would dislike this tea, because I'm not a fan of chocolate teas at all, but this is actually really great. I gave it a quick rinse, and the rinse tasted lovely. I did 212 at 5 minutes, 3 or 4 tea rocks, and it's sublime. The cinnamon is perfect, and not overpowering. The touch of cardamom is great. I could actually do with a tad more cardamom. The pu-erh is definitely there. Not fishy in any way in the rinse or in the cup. I'm drinking my 4th steep right now and it's much more pu-erh forward, of course, and it's absolutely fabulous.

Don't come into this tea looking for chocolate! You'll be sorely disappointed. Both the chocolate and pu-ehr notes are completely overwhelmed by the chai. That being said, if you're into chai then check this one out!

Oh wow this is an incredible sip. The chocolate and chai flavor play very nicely with the malty and smooth pu erh.

Starting out this was not for me. Pu'ehr just overpowers me. But when I added a little sugar and cream it became smooth and mellow. Not an everyday tea but very pleasant.

I added sweet cream to this and it satisfied my sweet tooth. The cloves and ginger are what stuck out the most and they're not my favorite flavors. The pu-erh speaks but is smoothed out by the chocolate.

I love all things chai and this combo of chocolate and chai was delicious.

March 24: yep still good… while hot. When it cools it tastes of puerh again with a chocolate masking which doesn’t work for me. Enjoying right now though

I thought this was a really good blend of these three things that I wasn't sure would go well. pu-erh grounds the chocolate and it isn't too sweet and the chai is subtle.

This was good, not a favorite, but a nice cup. I’d like a little more spice in my cup. A very mild Pu erh.

★★★★☆

A very spicy chai. It's very hot. I loved how it smelled, I tasted smooth pu-erh tea then the spices and finally the chocolate, it's a lingering after flavor. You taste the chocolate flavor more as the tea cools. I wish it was a bit more chocolatey though. It is still a really nice tea.

Enjoyable. I can taste the chai flavorings the most, then the chocolate. The tea itself is a bit overpowered.

Chocolate and chai just go so well together! Add a bit of milk and sugar, delish!

So far, this one is my most favorite Chi tea. I think I've bought all the samples of Chi and this one is so good!

if you love Chai and chocolate you will like this one. It was a perfect blend for chocolate and spices

It has a nice smooth flavor, but I like my chai to pack a punch! If smooth flavor is what you want, this is a great option!

This tea is fabulous. Rich, chocolate chai flavor with the mellow finish of pu ehr. It smells and tastes delicious, and has a beautiful rich red-brown color. Good balance of spices - ginger, cinnamon, cardamom and chocolate.

Never had this tea and I’m so glad I got it, it’s my go to tea in the morning when I need a little pick me up. Super quality and great packaging!

It's good but it doesn't taste like chocolate! Just a regular chai pu-erh flavor. No fishy notes on this one.

Another winner as far as flavored Pu-Erhs go! I reach for this often. I let it steep for ~10 mins and it is super rich without any hint of bitterness. Great with a hint of sweetener.

Okay, I must say, I do not drink chocolate teas by themselves, I blend with them instead. This one is probably one of my favorite chocolate teas to blend with as it provides a nice spice element which I find welcoming with the chocolate.

The chocolate and chai mix are spot on in this tea. The chocolate makes it a little more special than a traditional chai, the pu-erh makes it earthier. When measured at 3 grams per 8oz cup, I find the pu-erh overpowered by the chai. I'm tempted to add a little extra plain pu-erh next time.

A chocolate tea that doesn’t go bitter. Like a Mayan style hot chocolate with spices. Perfectly sweet and spicy.

Warm spices plus a hint of chocolate warm my senses upon smelling pre-steep. Post-steep, the spiced smell remains, however the chocolate has lessened. Originally tried this in the November CommuniTea, but I feel like in that packet I didn't get the proper proportion of chocolate in the blend. Since purchasing a full bag however, there is a lot more chocolate pronounced within the taste and smell of the tea. I'm usually not the biggest fan of chocolate teas, but this specific pairing is one of my favorite cups.

I wish the pu-erh were stronger, a darker and more earthy flavor like I'm used to from classic pu-erhs, but the chocolate chai part is delicious, so I'm not complaining!

I took a chance here and I'm glad. I've only had pu-erh once before and I liked it. Light chocolate and spice aroma from the dry leaves. No rinse. 2.5 min @ 165. Hint of spice flavor, no chocolate notes. Smooth and mild, no bitterness or astringency. I like it but won't be adding to my tea collection because of the caffeine.

Oh, this is good stuff! The enticing aroma of spices reached me as I open my communiTEA packet. This is my second Pu-erh so I was a little anxious and read several reviews before this adventure. I rinsed my tea and did not note fishy notes, so I added the water back to my cup after brewing. The finished result was a really lovely cup, With the rich and earthy flavor of the pu-erh pair with the chocolate were the base for a rich spicy mix of flavors that play with senses as you sip, the sweet and spicy flavor of the cinnamon come first, with a zing of the freshness from the ginger, the cardamon add a floral-fruity note, complemented with warm embrace of cloves. Ode to joy to my palate! (5 mins @ 200°F)

Oh my! This works. The developing tea snob in me thought “why would you want to ruin your pu erh with other flavors?” But before I even tasted it, I could smell how the earthy tea complemented the chocolate and the spices seemed to ground and elevate it at the same time. It’s really fantastic on a crisp, fall morning when you want a strong flavor punch right in the teeth. Steeped 5 mins @ 200°

This one is okay. I suggest steeping it longer, 10 min, and adding creamer.

At first a had a nice chocolate with spice flavor that I enjoyed. Then the ginger came forward and I'm not as much of a fan. Something I would drink if offered, but not something I will buy.

I think this may be the first chocolate tea that I actually really am enjoying. It’s the chai notes that really dance on my tastebuds. Great cuppa tea!

I think I'm discovering I just don't like the spicy cinnamon flavor. It starts off tasting like the chai spices, so the spicy cinnamon I dislike, then has the aftertaste of chocolate, which is good. I just can't get past the spicy cinnamon.

I went into this cup of tea with very mixed feelings. On one hand, I love chai. On the other hand, I am not a fan of pu-erh. So, I really wasn't sure what I was going to feel when I tried this. That being said, I very much like this chai. This for sure will be bought again.

This is a smooth, well-balanced chai with a healthy dose of chocolate. As-advertised! I didn't notice any off aromas or flavours from the pu-erh, and I enjoyed every sip. Steeped 5 min @ 195ª.

I'm all in for a good pu-erh, and this one was better than 'good'. The cardamom and ginger did manage to mask the earthiness of the pu-erh, to the point where it was all about the chai. Chocolate barely had a chance to slide into the mix, but once it did, it was hanging on for dear life. A zesty, in your face kind of tea. Great for chai lovers.

Smooth tea, with mild chai spices. Mostly tasted cinnamon with a little cardamon, and lots of clove.

In the bag: Looks just like the Adagio photo, except my cinnamon chips are smaller.

On the nose (pre-steep): Chai is the main flavor, and boy is it rich and strong! I know licorice isn't an ingredient, but I catch a whiff of it behind the spicier aromas. No chocolate yet.

On the nose (post-steep): Same general aroma as pre-steep, except no licorice. Less intense.

On the tongue (pre-sweetener): Tastes mostly like a classic chai, though not very intense. There is a background hint of unsweetened cocoa.

On the tongue (post-sweetener): The chocolate is a little brighter and sweeter, now an equal partner to its spicy companion.

Opinion: A tasty blend best enjoyed with sweetener. The chocolate cuts chai’s intensity, making it softer and a bit more palatable.

Preparation: First steep 5 min, second steep 10 min. Both @ 195 ℉. ½ teaspoon monk fruit sweetener.

The airier cousin to the Chocolate Chai, the Pu-Erh tea keeps this blend breathing and allows the chocolate and chai spices to be the stars of the show. Excellent for an afternoon pick-me-up, without overdoing the caffeine content.

Really nice balance of flavors! The sweet and spice and the smooth taste of pu'erh is just awesome! Will be a fall staple for me :D

This is the most delicious chai tea. It is subtle in flavor but I find the spices to be perfectly blended. Brewed at 212 for 5 minutes. A little bit of sweetener brings out the taste. I also do a second steep with about 2/3 of the water. It’s milder but still tasty.
Update: Brewed this morning at 205 degrees for 4 minutes and added honey and 2% milk. Delicious!
Update: I still love this tea! I brewed at 200 degrees for 5 minutes and added honey and milk.
