I’m not a chai fan but this was very pleasant. I enjoyed it without that overwhelming chai taste. Great tea while I was sick with lots of honey
Chaga Chai is delicious straight up or as a latte. Blended with rooibos, chai spices, and a touch of coconut to make a warming, soothing cup with chaga mushroom for extra goodness.

I’m not a chai fan but this was very pleasant. I enjoyed it without that overwhelming chai taste. Great tea while I was sick with lots of honey
This one has a unique flavor that not everyone would like but grows on you with time. It is non-caffeinated and a nice addition to the rotation of evening teas.
I was pleasantly surprised by this blend. While it had a strong flavor (might be an acquired taste for some), I loved the complexity. It’s great by itself with a sweetener or with cream and sugar.
I cannot have caffeine but love rooibos options. This is one of my favorites. It has a spicy taste as well as aroma. 2/6/24: I purchased more of this recently along with Rooibos Earl Grey and had heart palpitations from it. I wondered if the rooibos was processed in a factory that also had soy products?
a pretty standard chai despite the unconventional ingredients. not as strong as I expected it to be
I'm a huge fan of spicy chai and this was still satisfying. It has a little woodsy taste in a very pleasant way
Just the right amount of spiciness. One of my favorites!
A very earthy chai, a healthy elixir with a unique set of ingredients of mushrooms, spices and coconut. I found much to enjoy about this blend with the exception of the coconut flavor. And I love coconut. This delightful tropical flavor gets lost and muddied with the earth bound flavors of chaga mushrooms and woody rooibos. The chai spices of cinnamon, ginger, cloves and cardamom work their warming magic to temper the rooibos woodiness so it remains subtle and tucked away. The chai spices compliment the mushroom flavor well. However, the earthy tasting coconut flavor that comes through at the finish, takes the flavor into uncertain territory. It doesn't add it's usual clear tropical coconutty taste but takes on a muddied flavor instead.
My CT had 3 g. of earthy looking tea with coconut and mushroom pieces, a clove spike, brown spice bits and a scattering of red rooibos. Brewed 10 oz. at 212*F for 7 min. The cloudy amber liquor had an earthy, almost forest floor like scent with a tinge of coconut. I sweetened the tea with agave which enhanced the flavors and then let it sit for a min. before tasting. The resteep was pleasantly mellow with the spices softer in taste. The health benefits of this blend are many and wonderful. If you're a chai fan and enjoy an earthy tasting tea then this is a good one to try.
Earthy and warming decaf chai. I love the heat from the spicy ginger. A complex blend of flavours. Honey brings out the flavors. I tried with and without sweetener and enjoyed both ways.
Chai spice aroma from the packet, not clove heavy. 3 min @ 212. An ok rooibos chai, but I prefer cinnamon rooibos chai or rooibos vanilla chai. Not sure there was any chaga, but I've never had it before so I don't know what it tastes like.
Quite nice. It's a different taste but I like it. I would not drink it everyday but I like the sample bunches.
couldn't get past the mushrooms - I like them just not in tea I guess - and mixed with chai just didn't work for me
An okay tea not one of my favorites. It was tasty though
Nope, not for me! It smelled great, like a spiced chai, but that rooibos medicinal flavor came full force with something else strange, perhaps the chaga? Im willing to try chaga again but this... I couldn't swallow the stuff..
This didn't blow me away or anything but it also wasn't bad. I really didn't get the earthiness of any mushroom. Tasted like a mild chai. brewed at 212F 5 min.
An earthy, hearty chai. Would never have guessed the mushroom ingredient addition.
I wasn’t sure about a mushroom tea but I found out that it doesn’t taste at all like the mushroom I was expecting. The spices are just right with the cinnamon not overwhelming everything and the ginger giving it a nice peppery finish The first taste I had was good but this time the tea tasted soapy and wasn't so good. That can happen with different samples, sometimes good, sometimes not so.
When I opened my tea packet, I could smell cardamom. This is a great tea with the splash of milk.
The earthiness of the mushrooms is a relatively small and mellow but grounding note, while the brightness of the rooibos brings out some of the warmer aspects of the Chai spices. Coconut provides some creaminess, making the blend earthy, bright and spicy. However, there was something that was missing out. Maybe some star anise to add a subtle spiciness and depth to the tea without overpowering the other flavors? Or vanilla, to add more sweetness and creaminess to complement the coconut? I would have to try them out and get back to you.
This is a sharp, warming tea which is ginger-forward with other spices in the background along with creamy coconut. The change brings a flat, almost soapy earthiness more prominent on the aftertaste. This is unique, but not overwhelming, as the peppery spices have the final zing. Honey just seems to sharpen the taste, while a creamy milk mutes the novel mushroom flavor. For me, this improves the tea but perhaps ruins the effect? Either way, it's a nice, unique tea. Pairs wonderfully with macadamia nut and nougat.
My CommuniTEA pouch had a nice big sliver of chaga in it today, so not surprisingly, the resulting tea had a clear savory and earthy taste to it. In fact, it tasted very much like a spiced mushroom broth. The rooibos base and the addition of a little honey lend some sweetness. That probably sounds like a revolting combination - sweet, spicy mushroom broth - but somehow, it worked. I didn't love it, but I didn't hate it either. Certainly, chaga chai yields an interesting cup. (7 minutes @ 212F)
This tea did not 'soothe my soul' by any means; probably because I did not taste any 'shrooms. What I did taste was a clove dominant weak chai. I barely noticed the rooibos; there were almost enough spices to camouflage the red dirt. I did not think the tea was unpleasant at all; it just was not a stand out in the universe of herbal or chai teas.
It smells almost medicinal. The ginger really saves it for me. I’d like a little more spice in my chai, but this one is pretty good. I wouldn’t necessarily restock.
I don't like mushrooms, so I gave it to a friend. She said it tasted like spiced mushrooms with a hint of coconut.
CommuniTEA Sample: Not a bad sip, just a bit of a strange combination. Earthy from the rooibos and mushrooms and a bit of spice from the chai. I tried it straight and with a splash of milk, and it just didn't hit me as a favorite.
CommuniTEA is Chuggin' CHAGA, today. I love Chaga & been enjoying it for years, as a glorious tea! I enjoy it by itself, solely for the adaptogenic health benefits. It doesn't have much taste by its lonesome--as its just a lightly earthy vibe. But, that doesn't bother me none, as I don't go to it for taste adventure. I can't give this a 5️⃣-er as I am just not loving the chai-esque tastescape. I do love chai, however not this particular combination of Rooibos & Coconut. But--10 ⭐️'s and cheers for chaga! All things Forest-birch-polypore prolificary chaga-core!!
I'm very sensitive to clove so it was all I tasted.
I liked this a tiny bit more than I had expected to. The rooibos wasn't so bad in this blend. I made a sweet latte out of it.
This was just horrible, the rooibos and coconut made it taste like soap, it mellowed a bit as it cooled but it was still pretty bad
A mellow, earthy chai with mood boosting benefits. A great balance of spices without the heavy clove note some chais have.
This is my favorite daily sipping tea in the fall and winter. The coconut gives it richness and the rooibos is naturally so balanced it doesn’t need anything added. I love it all day!
The strongest flavors I taste are the coconut, ginger, and rooibos. I prefer other chais. You also have to drink this one really quickly since the coconut goes bad within months,
Warm with a touch of pepperiness. I like to let it steep longer to bring out the flavor.
The scent worried me a bit: it's strong, even for chai: maybe too heavy on the cloves for me? Wonderfully, the taste is more balanced than the scent. I am really enjoying this tea.
It was... Ok. I don't love savory tea and this was more savory. It didn't feel well balanced to me. But it wasn't bad. I can see someone liking it, just be cautious.
Update: I added more sugar the next time I had it and I really enjoyed it. I think you just need to be in the right mood.
It's very interesting. Good, but in a way I never thought to associate with tea. The rooibos is most prominent, and the rest combines to taste kind of like a cypress tree. I couldn't tell you how that works, but it's pleasant, though confusing to the taste buds.
I don't know whether I'm tasting the mushrooms at all, but this is a lovely sweet-spicy decaf chai. Very happy. And this one handles long steeping (if you make it with milk on the stove) well -- was not bitter even the next day.
Wow! Strong aromas of cardamon, cinnamon, cloves and ginger give your nose a wake up call prior to brewing. The smell alone had me drooling. I could barely wait to for the tea to steep long enough to taste this brew. The wait was well worth it and it did not disappoint! This tea is my idea of ambrosia because I felt like a goddess drinking it. The warm burn of the cardamon, cinnamon, cloves and ginger were wonderful. The tea has a tiny bit of bitterness and sweetness at the same time. Probably from the coconut. I inhaled the cup and went back for seconds. This is the best rooibos tea I have ever tasted. If I could give it 6 stars I would. I will definitely be ordering this tea again.
A caffeine-free option if you want chai flavors, but you also have to like rooibos. Overall, it's a bit thin and mild for me, and I'm not a big rooibos fan, so I'll give this a miss in the future. Was worth a try, though.
This tea changed my life! My knee pain is gone! I believe the Chaga mushrooms really help!
This is a very nice herbal chai. I ended up making tea lattes with it. Added sweetner and milk. Good chai flavors for a late day sip or those days when caffeinated drink isn’t an option.
It’s perfect on milk or water but the chai latte isn’t totally different with this chaga chai.
I really enjoyed this tea! It's a really nice herbal chai blend. I mainly ordered this tea because I've heard about some of the benefits of chaga mushrooms, so I'm glad I don't dislike this tea. Usually I'm not the biggest rooibos fan, but all the spices make it so that I don't even notice. Might be my go-to chai for now :)
I tried all the Chai teas. This one was very good! I loved it so much! I will be purchasing this again
It’s alright! A bit savory and earthy but nothing that blows me away. I tend to prefer a chai with a bit more heat, so this is purely subjective. I tried it with oat milk and honey since that’s my go to chai mix but I suspect this one is best enjoyed without milk. I look forward to trying that out.
This is a heavy rooibos tea… which I’ve never been a fan of. However, it has enough other flavors going on that it doesn’t taste medicinal or overpoweringly of rooibos. It’s actually rather pleasant. I do wish it had more Chaga. Tea made with chaga alone is really really good so I’d like to see a predominately chaga tea with other accented flavors. Either way, this was nice.
I love the idea of mushroom in teas and got this right away. I hope to see more chaga and other mushroom teas. The ginger and clove is what I struggle with, while they are usually essential in chai, they don't really hit the spot.
A well-rounded cup, grounded in a full-bodied taste with normal chai spices. I didn't notice anything 'mushroom-y' about it. Really enjoyed it, and will be ordering more.
My first rooibos mixed chai, and I am in love. Cinnamon, rooibos, and cardamom definitely overpowers mushroom; I have not been able to sniff the mushroom flavor.
Really like this one! Warm and soothing with nice spices. Doesn't absolutely blow me away, but I'll probably buy it again one day. Perfect for fall or winter.
