Tea Party with the Stars

If there's a franchise that's got everyone buzzing lately, it's got to be Star Wars. From Disney's The Mandalorian, an eight-episode (so far) series following the Boba Fett look-alike Mandalorian bounty hunter and the adorable green youngster Baby Yoda, to the recently released The Rise of Skywalker movie, set to end the series' core saga, the popular franchise has been busy.

And what better way is there to enjoy a 9+ movie marathon, full series binge, or rabid re-watching of a new favorite than a tea party?

Answer? Probably none. So, to throw the best party in the galaxy for all of your nerdiest friends, droids, bounty hunters, Jedi, Sith, or anything in between, we suggest the following.

Star Wars teas

The first step for any tea party is, obviously, to have tea!

Naturally, at Adagio, we play host to several fandom tea blends featuring your Star Wars favorites, check out the search for Fandom Blends to find some new favorites!

Looking for something a little more traditional or want to use teas already on hand?

Why not make some 'Earl Rey' tea using some Earl Grey. Earl Grey is also a great tea for bubble tea (see our recent blog on how to make it). If you're feeling a little rebellious, join the resistance with some 'Poe'-Erh for our favorite pilot Poe Dameron, or, if you're lucky enough to have gotten in on our last batch of Bella Luna Blue tea, impress guests with a tea color that's out of this world.

Star Wars Cookies

A tea party isn't complete without some kind of snack, so to make your party extra sweet, try these recipes from our TeaChef site.

Mandalorian and Baby Yoda cookies

We've featured this recipe for Matcha cookies before, and they're still just as good in their new shape. Using Star Wars cookie cutters (we used two of these, though the world of Star Wars cookie cutters is vast indeed), we made a few different designs that look good in green, including Boba Fett and Baby Yoda. Trim the antenna off the side of your Boba Fett shapes and change the coloring of your frosting and you can have a Mandalorian too. We just had strawberry glaze on hand, so went for something a little more classic. Yum.

Bonus tips
  • Because of all the nooks and crannies in these specific cookie cutters, make sure that your dough is nicely chilled and that you use plenty of flour on the cutters between cookies to keep the dough from sticking.

  • If you want to use other shapes besides those well suited to green, just whip up some frosting or white chocolate to cover up the green before decorating.

  • Cookie cutters can be expensive, so if you'd rather spring for something else, you can also make cookie cutters at home. Simply draw or trace your shape on firm cardstock, cut it out, and then use a knife to trace your shape on the dough. You can also use stars, moons, or circles with white chocolate frosting for planets (or Death Stars), or start with circles and simply draw your favorite characters on with icing.

  • Chewy Chewbacca Ginger Snaps

Looking for something a little less time-intensive/easier to decorate? Why not try these Chewy Pu-Erh Ginger Snap cookies and make some Wookie cookies? You can use the rest of the pu-erh for the 'Poe-erh' mentioned above or just save it for another batch!

    Snowflake Doilies

Now that you have your drinks and snacks, the last thing you need are decorations. Thankfully designer Anthony Herrera has got you covered. He comes out with Star Wars snowflake patterns every year, and this pattern is perfect for your favorite Mandalorian fan. Hang them up for frosty decorations while you cuddle up to watch or use smaller pieces of paper to make doilies for your teacups. Use a little spray adhesive on the back of your snowflakes to back them with firmer paper, and you'll have the perfect little coasters to go with your theme. Laminate them or decoupage them on something even firmer, like wood discs or ceramic, and your guests will even have a party favor to remember your nerdy night. You can find patterns for Kuii, the Mandalorian, Baby Yoda, and Cara Dune here. Links to Anthony's other Star Wars snowflake designs (and more) can be found on the sidebar.

    Share and enjoy

Once you've got your food, tea, and decorations, all that's left is to enjoy. Amp your party up with costumes, themed games, or prizes, or just snuggle up and watch some great science fiction. Don't forget to take plenty of pictures, and if you share them on social, make sure to tag us (@adagioteas) to earn some extra rewards points.

The Force be with you, or, if you're a Mandalorian fan- This is the way.
