What makes a Keemun tea high-grade?
Keemun grades are judged mainly by the leaf and the aroma. Higher grades are generally made from buds and tender young leaves that are carefully plucked and processed into leaves that are even in size and well formed. They tend to brew a smoother, more complex cup with a more pronounced fragrance and lower astringency. Grade names such as Hao Ya and Mao Feng are used differently by different sellers, so tasting notes and origin details are often more informative than the name alone.
