Golden Needle Yunnan is grown high in the mountains of Simao, Pu'er, Yunnan province, China — a specific growing area within the Yunnan highlands known for producing exceptional full-leaf and needle-grade Dian Hong (滇紅). Single-origin. The cultivar is "Snow Buds #100" (雪芽100號), known specifically for its large, downy buds — the source of the striking needle form this tea produces after careful shaping and oxidation.
The leaves are visually unlike any other black tea in our catalog: stick straight, roughly 1.5 to 2 inches long, ranging from deep dark brown to a vivid gold. Each needle is a single, whole bud — the entire growing tip of the tea plant, shaped rather than rolled or broken. In a glass vessel, the needles steep with a quiet elegance, gradually releasing the deep amber liquor and their character into the water: medium-bodied with notes of spice, cocoa, and hints of wildflower honey.
