This tea is available once every 4 years on leap day and will next go on sale in 622 days on February 29th, 2028.
Like the fictional Scottish village of Brigadoon - which appears from the mist only once every hundred years - this special Leap Year tea surfaces only once every four years, on February 29th. Luckily, it's every four years instead of every hundred.

Brigadoon Breakfast Tea is a Scottish-inspired breakfast blend of four Adagio teas: Assam Melody for deep malt and body; Keemun Concerto for honeyed depth and subtle smokiness; Silver Needle for the delicate, natural sweetness of bud-only white tea; and blue cornflowers to evoke the blue and white of the Scottish flag that Brigadoon would fly. Together: bold enough for a proper morning cup, complex enough to reward the four-year wait.
TEA TYPE
Black Tea
CAFFEINE
High
As a black tea, this has a fuller caffeine level, making it a good choice for morning or early afternoon. It is typically lower in caffeine than coffee.
STEEP
212° for 3-5 mins
Steep longer for a bolder cup, especially if adding milk.
Ingredients: assam melody tea, keemun concerto tea, silver needle tea & blue cornflowers
Leap Day is needed to correct the fact that the Gregorian calendar year is about 6 hours shorter than a solar calendar year. The extra day is an opportunity to do something out of the ordinary, something that doesn't come along too often.

As it says, it's only sold on Leap Day. That would happen every four years.

excellent marketing.

If you know the story of Brigadoon, the town only appears every 100 years...thankfully Adagio doesn't make us wait THAT long. It would be lovely if they gave us the whole month, but if you want some, you'll want to get on their notifications. It's delicio

My husband just tried this tea and loved it. I've never heard him say that before. Is there a similar tea that he might like that will last till the next batch of Brigadoon is made?

Hello Nicole! Glad to hear you both enjoyed! There is not one quite like it, but you could purchase the three teas from us and create your own version at home until 2024!

I can confirm that this is the way to do it. I have done so on other blends that I cant get over here in Ireland (the EU site is really limited). The proportions are not terribly important.

I don't see anything in there that is 'too costly'.It's all about maintaining the magic!

Unfortunately we don't believe it will start coming to our site more often, anytime soon! If anything changes we will let everyone know.

While I wait 4 years, what tea do you have that is similar?

Hello Theresa! We recommend checking out our other three breakfast teas: English, Irish, and Scottish!

You might get close if you are willing to experiment and mix your own. You can buy the Assam and the Keemun, and Jasmine Silver Needle separately. Not sure how you could get the blue cornflower though. Would be an interesting experiment.
