This is my first white tea to try. The leaves looked nothing like the picture; they were very brown & brittle & riddled with stems. The taste is very delicate & light. It's hard to pinpoint exactly what I'm tasting, but it almost has a grainy taste to it. Not bad, but a bit too light for my taste.

Some people seem to make a duality in 'earthy' vs. 'fruity/floral' teas, but this white peony is proof that this is a false opposition. I find it to be less floral than the description claims, but that isn't a bad thing. Unlike a pu erh, the earthiness here isn't like heavy, wet loam, but more like light and sandy soil. It's strongest in the beginning of the sip, and then relaxes into blossoming lightly sweet notes of honey and flower petals. It's a lovely and relaxing tea.

One note: I've found it's hard to get a good teaspoon of it with such big leaves, so I just put a couple of large-ish pinches in my (16oz) mug instead. It's a lot easier than trying to fit these big, stiff leaves into a little teaspoon.

One more note: 6oz is a lot of this one (roughly equivalent to 12oz of black tea). If you're just trying it out, go for the sample or 1oz package. But I know I'll have no trouble at all finishing my 6oz!

White Peony is my favorite tea. I get the tea bags, they are so convenient.

I don't think I can give this tea a proper review because I have come to the conclusion that I just don't like white teas.

★★★★☆

This is a light yet earthy tea, not as 'floral' as I thought it would be. The aroma is nice and the color of the tea is light. I like this tea and would recommend it to anyone wanting a light, earthy, mildly floral tasting tea.

This is a very earthy tea as the roots of the white Peony are used so it is not flowery as a Jasmine tea but it is still good tasting. Peony is also said to be good for PMS in case anyone would like to know.

This is such a great white tea. It doesn't get bitter or acidy and I am really bad about overcooking finicky teas. It's just very mellow and a little bit floral.

★★★★★

So light, refreshing, slightly floral. I love using it in blends with fruitier teas.

★★★★☆

very light tea with good flavor that is a bit different than usual fruity white teas

★★★★★

Another great flavor rich tea. It runs a close 2nd to the Blueberry tea I also purchased.

★☆☆☆☆

I was disappointed in this tea. It lacked flavor. Very watery despite steeping a large amount of tea.

This cup offers such a delicate floral flavor in smooth tea.

I tried out several white teas, as this was my first foray into white teas. This was my favorite and I'm ordering more. It is light, sweet and floral. I also like its aroma .

★★★★☆

I think that this tea is really soft, floral, and delicious, but our customers haven't quite caught on to it yet.

★★★★☆

Though I enjoy this tea, it's really a favorite of my husband, so maybe I should have ranked it great after all. Over all this is a very mild tea, as one might expect from a white tea. The leaves have a soft musty floral fragrance that's also a little nutty and reminiscent of woods in spring. The brewed tea has a mild fragrance similar to that of the leaves but with a little less potency and a little less floral. The flavor of the tea, albeit mild, is at once floral and herbal, which makes for a pleasant cup of tea that is good with or without a very little sweetener. I prefer honey, but my husband likes rock sugar. Fortunately, the tea is not so mild that it doesn't stand up to re-steeping.

Lovely, light, sweet, mildly fruity and floral. Very nice.

White peony was exactly what I was hoping for! It's very light, and very pleasant, with a good mouthfeel!

Strange name but delicious. light in colur nice aroma.

The aroma reminds me of heady, almost-too-rich flower blossoms--honeysuckle, maybe. Think late summer, humid, scent hanging heavily in the air. The taste retains some of that flavor, with a soft mouthfeel and a little dryness. Overall a very light tea, but not lacking in flavor--just a subtle experience.

It was very very very light but nothing that will offend the palate either

This tea is so light and refreshing. I enjoy this in the evening.

Truly an amazing white tea. Just the right amount of flavor, but not enough to overpower. A great meditative tea. Brewed in a gaiwan.

Looks nothing like the sample picture. As Nadia said, it's very broken up and there's not many buds. I even have some stem in mine. Definitely doesn't justify the price. The flavor is very one dimensional and bland.

One of my personal favorite white teas. Very good at night to settle down to.

★★★★☆

This tea tastes similar to a light green tea, but sweeter and with a delicate floral note. It's good, though the sample I received looked nothing like the picture. The leaves are whole for the most part, but they're all brown and brittle, not even close to young-looking green and silver. Still, it made for a decent brew. I'm glad I tried this sample. I've never had a tea quite like it.

I bought this tea after a recommendation from another tea-lover, it was excellent and light, slightly fruity and very clean-tasting.

★★★☆☆

Nice and delicate, but not memorable. Probably because white teas are so subtle.

★★★★☆

It is good if you enjoy that floral taste in your tea. I'm not a huge fan of it but I just don't enjoy the flowery teas in general.

I'm normally not a fan of tea that's not black, but this was very good. I will buy this again.

★★★★☆

Standard sort of light green tea for me, more green than white though.

★★★★☆

I'm a white tea novice, but with that in mind I really like this tea. With all that I've heard about white tea being delicate and mild, and my palate not being great, I was worried that it would basically just taste like lightly flavored hot water to me - but that's far from the case! The description is pretty accurate - somehow subtly sweet and savory all at once, flavorful and refreshing but mild. It's just pleasant to drink.

This is one of my favorite White teas. It's a little more complex than most other white teas with hints of melon and natural sweetness.

★★★★★

This tea is delicious. I like to mix it with lemongrass and spearmint sometimes.

★★★★☆

Rely liked the light flavor of this tea...similar to Jasmine.

★★★★★

Love the delicate flowery fragrance and taste. A wonderful way to start the day!

★★★★☆

Almost (but not quite) tastes like 'regular' iced tea, so if you're a fan of that you might like this. Delicious iced with some sweetener. Tastes like melons and smells like flowers.

My favorite non-herbal at Adagio. Light, refreshing and healthy!

★★★★★

This is the first white tea I've actually tried before. It has a very pleasant flavor. fruity, not very strong, but not super mild either. It's a bit expensive, but I think it's definitely worth it.

Didnt really understand this tea as well. Mild flavor, not bad just not fantabulous.
