Good, a bit strong. Not as mild in flavor as I'm used to, but you can get a few steepings out of each pearl.
These lovely pearls are made from white peony leaves that are hand-shaped. Once steeped, the cup reveals classic white peony notes of melon and cucumber, a little mineral flintiness and just a hint of honey.

Good, a bit strong. Not as mild in flavor as I'm used to, but you can get a few steepings out of each pearl.
The pearls are more full bodied than most white teas but it is still very smooth. My only gripe is that they are quite large, way too much for even 2 cups. 1 pearl makes a pot (4 cups) of tea which is great unless you only want a cup since they do not break apart easily.
These little balls had me tripping some hard balls. I don't know how, but when I put them in a glass bottle and shook one up for a couple of minutes and then strained it, it tasted like a nosebleed. It was without the astringency of blood, but still it was like a dreamy headache. Thumbs to the side, man.
They're OK, they have a very mild flavor. I like them, but I don't think I'd buy them again.
Perfectly smooth. One of the best white teas I have had.
The flavor on this tea is great! I really enjoy using this one as an all-day tea in my steeper mug. The only problem I have with it is the size of the pearl - they're very large pearls, and so I can't use them in all of my steepers, because it doesn't give the pearl enough room to properly unfold.
Lovely color, beautiful presentation. Do be careful not to over-brew or have your water too hot as tea can get bitter if you're not careful.
This has easily become one of my favorite teas. It's so smooth and delicate but full of flavor. Highly recommend.
I love when my tea is in ball shape. you can just throw a couple in and know your good instead of estimating the perfect amount
Large, fragrant pearls. Smooth taste. Wish they were more fragrant.
It honestly just tastes a bit too bland for me. Maybe i'ts because I don't have a sense of smell, but i just dont like it that much. It's okay, but not my favorite.
Very tasty, brews dark for being 'white' pearls but is definitely worth a look.
Light, refreshing, relaxing white tea. Great in the afternoon.
I was surprised by how quickly this arrived to my new apartment. I thought they were going to be much smaller (like the jasmine pearls), but they were not. I use one 'pearl' per cup of tea. They don't hold together as well as regular blooming teas due to not having a string. It's very light and similar to their White Peony tea. The pearls are a good conversation maker!
Light and refreshing taste light in color don't boil the water brew just be for water boils
This tea is delightfully light, and I just love the mineral hints of flavor. I enjoy it as an afternoon tea when I want something warm but not necessarily as potent as my usual black teas. If you are someone who likes a stronger flavor to your tea, this may not be one you'll be head over heels for. But my philosophy is it's always great to at least try something new every time I order from Adagio, and if you've been thinking about trying a good white tea, I'd recommend this one.
Amazingly complex and surprising flavor profiles! Wow! There are so many different notes and nuances going on here. Mineral, floral, smoky, and sweet. The pearls are beautiful and easy for travel. A new favorite to be sure and they were definitely worth the wait!
Though the are rather large for just one cup, they are ideal for making a small pot. I love the delicate flavor of these.
Very nice , warm , colorful tea , with very refreshing taste .
Flavor is great. I think the pearl size is too big for one cup of tea. I usually have to break it up into a tsp size.
Not going to waste but not replacing any of my current favorites. Definitely teapot sized, impressive how much this tea enlarges even compared to other pearl teas. I think I will try this with some enhancers such as cinnamon or orange peal to see if that makes it more interesting
Not bad..not out of this world great. OK. I just really didn't find anything over exciting about this tea.
Tasted how I would think dirty socks would taste.
I never got much flavor out of these. Bummer. I know white teas are light, but this was just watery. Not awful, just, not really there.
I love this tea. The flavor is so light but so relaxing
Very delicate. Like some sort of flower or shit like that.
This was a little weak and not too much flavor. I lije a little more flavor. But it was mild and smooth.
Delicious white tea, tastes like peony, cucumber and melon. Very mild and delicate.
This tea has a light flavor that can be enjoyed anytime.
I was expecting pearls, but these are more like grapes. :p Still, that was just a visual surprise, nothing to do with quality. I like being able to drop one pearl into the infuser and not bother with measuring. Very convenient, and tasty too!
My first white tea. Always drink with honey. Yummy! I noticed how subtle but distinct the flavor was. Not too astringent. I also like the fact that I could steep it 2 or 3 more times and still have a good cup of tea. Consider the sample for the simple fact that you can steep multiple times. May be cost effective.
This tea was very earthy and tasted especially good with agave nectar instead of sugar. I bet the pure can sugar would taste good as well.
A very mild brew. But, great flavors! The main flavors were honey and an earthy like flavor, with faint notes of cucumber. I didn't feel like it would make a good second cup so I didn't attempt to brew it again, but it could be used again if you're feeling adventurous. Reminded me of silver needle, just a little lighter flavor. I did not mix it with any milk or sugar and wouldn't recommend you do so, as I'd be afraid it would totally overpower the flavor of the tea. A great cup of tea for after a nice dinner with nice flavors, but it's easily burnt and not very strong or aromatic. But despite the flaws (which I expected from a white tea) I'd give this a 4.8/5 and will most likely buy again. Well worth a try at $3 an ounce for 4 ounces. Enjoy!
So Light and simple. The perfect addition to my collection! Good for anyone who isnt too sure about 'new' tea.
Thoroughly enjoyed this tea. Will probably get again.
Very light flavor. Enjoyed my sample pack. Very relaxing taste.
I'm going to buy this again for sure. Not your average tea.
I really like the pearl form that the tea comes in.
I was really excited to see a white tea pearl when it came out, honestly. The convenience of being able to plop a pearl in and not measure is amazing. This tea was as good as expected. It's not a particularly remarkable tea by any means, but it is lovely, simple, and clean tasting. I really enjoy being able to make a quick cup after work with no fuss. This is one I'll probably keep a small stock of in my tea chest.
Very tasty, its dark and very cocoa-y. the taste is really strong and makes a great pot
An upscale tea for special occasions. Enjoyed any time of day.
White tea, being the most delicate and refined of teas, tends to be the most expensive. That's the only factor that steered me away from trying it in the first place. The white pearls were a cost efficient introduction that showed me how glorious it truly is. Producing a slightly vegetal cup, this tea has a flavor body that grows stronger in boldness as well as sweetness as you drink. I would highly recommend.
I liked this tea. I wish they had a version with jasmine because I still prefer jasmine phoenix pearls or jasmine silver needle.
I was shocked by how light this tea is. I brew my white teas very carefully, for short times in water that is never above 175. Normally that will also allow me to steep about three times. Anyway. At those specifications, this tea doesn't have a much flavor as a Silver Needle or a white peony. It's more on par with snowbud, though I like this better. It isn't bitter, which is what I experienced with snowbud. It's difficult to pinpoint any really outstanding flavors in the tea, like honey or orchid or whatnot. There is an underlying almost hay-like quality to it. I enjoyed it, and I'm glad I tried it. I just don't really think that tea pearls are my preferred tea delivery method. They're never as good as straight up loose tea, at least in my experience. That being said, I will still finish my sample bag.
A very mild tea, this is a soothing brew in a convenient pearl. For those who enjoy a richer flavor, I recommend a longer brew time. Naturally sweet and light, honey and sugar are not necessary.
