Nice but a little more delicate than what I was hoping for. I wanted a fruitier flavor but this was more floral and bitter than what I was expecting

This is one of my all-time-favorite teas. The pear taste is nice and refreshing, strong without being overpowering. It's excellent both hot and iced!

Very light, and pleasantly fruit tea. Overall a very nice, smooth sip; I found I enjoyed it more once I added a bit of honey, but good on its own regardless. Very enjoyable Pear aroma @adagioteas

We do not have any other white tea in our stash as it is usually too tame for us. However, when we tasted White Pear in the 12 Days of Christmas we fell in love with it. It tastes like a fresh ripe pear to me, and I love pears. I ordered a bag of it and we will enjoy it in the afternoon and evening.

light, fruity aroma and taste. Great to relax with.

One of my favorites. Very delicate flavor. Goes well with almost everything!

★★★☆☆

The pear flavor is strong, especially if you add some sweetener or a pinch of salt. But the tea has a chemically taste to it. Maybe that is the way white tea is supposed to taste. I don't drink it enough to know.

When I opened the packet, there was a strong aroma of pear. There was also a chemical smell.

★★★☆☆

Tried as a CommuniTEA sample. The pear flavor is strong enough but I'm not a big fan of white tea so this isn't the one for me.

Delicious light flavoring! I can see why it would make a nice cold/iced tea. The smell from the bag reminds me of a Starburst candy! You can taste the crispness even as it warms you. White teas are always relaxing, and this pear flavor makes it all the more festive and comforting!

Smells very strongly, but the flavor is a bit more delicate. Very sweet, and the combination of the apple does work well- but picked up more of the aftertaste of the flavoring as I kept drinking.

I'll be honest. I'm picky about pears. So often, they can be disappointing - grainy, gritty, too crunchy, overripe, etc. But when one has the fortune to get one just right, they're delectable. Sweet, buttery, juicy all rolled into one delightful fruit. This tea misses that mark for me. Though pear would be a good match for a delicate white tea, the pear flavoring here tastes artificial and ever so slightly medicinal to me. If I want a pear, I'll have a real pear, thank you.

This is a super relaxing, subtle tea. It smells so much stronger than it tastes, I was pleasantly surprised that it was so gentle and balanced. I'm going to let my cup cool to see what it taste like iced!

Never had pear tea before. Was quite good iced.
Tried it warm today. Sweeter than I expected, with a hint of an almost smoky flavor.

★★★★☆

A delicate white tea with a subtle pear flavor. I've never found pear to be a very strong flavor when in blends, so it was nice to try it with a light tea so it could stand on it's own a bit.

Update 1/9/22 Tried this hot today. 180 for 3 mins. It was very flavorful compared to the last time I tried it. So it is good both hot and cold! Changed my rating from 4 to 5 stars.

I usually find white teas to be light on flavors. I decided to cold brew this one and I am glad I did. The pear flavor was stronger than in other fruit white teas I have tried. Very enjoyable iced tea this afternoon.

For me this had a general fruit smell and taste rather than specifically pear. I found what I used to drink it from made a large difference too. It tasted much better in a teacup than a mug. I might prefer this in a blend but not enough to get anything more than a sample size.

2022 Update: The packet had a few more dried apple pieces this time, and smelled even more strongly of pear flavoring. The tea steeped a bit stronger and that pear flavor came through even stronger. Delish!

As the packet opened, wispy fruity pear scents rippled out. A 3 minute steep at 180°F was a 'white tea' button press away from creating a glassy yellow-green tea.

Gossamer pear flavors permeated each sip while delicate white tea provided the base. The pear flavor is crisp and dry thanks to melding quite nicely with the white tea. Fruity yet unsweetened, it gives this a nice refreshing character that would be great both hot or iced. A mild astringency is detectable on the finish.

As a light afternoon tea, you can't go wrong with this white pear blend. The only downside to this sample is that I wish there were more in the packet!

Sipping along with the CommuniTEA:

10/3/21 Review: Mainly white tea herbaceousness (eucalyptus) with pair notes detected from the dry ingredients and packet. Once steeped for 3 mins at 185° F, I notice an unripe or green pear fragrance from my cup. When I take a sip, I notice herbal white tea/eucalyptus notes followed by a subtle more ripe asian pear flavors. As the cup cools, more ripe pear scents are noticed.

1/9/22 Update: My earlier review still stands. My only update would be that I'm actually noticing ripe pear instead of unripe pear on the dry ingredients and packet today.

Delicate tea meant to be sipped. The pear comes through but doesn't overwhelm the white tea. I'd recommend brewing it on a slow morning and savoring it.

I really enjoyed this tea! I added a small bit of sugar and the pear flavor really shined through! I don't think I have had a pear tea be this true to a pear taste. Very good!

I don't usually like this type of tea but the fresh pear taste is so so good. I would order this.

I’ve tried this tea many of times yet for some reason I’m not reviewing it until my tea community packet. Normally this tea is one of my favorites, but on this day for the first time I was only smelling apples. It smelt just like a candy apple. If I was to review today then I would say I don’t like it, but every other day it’s amazing iced or hot after steeping for three minutes.

This tea is nice, pleasant light flavoured tea. The pear flavour is delicate but good.

I have trouble tasting white teas due to a challenged sense of smell, so I gifted this packet to my Mom, who really enjoyed this tea the last time I had it in a CommuniTEA box.

If you like white teas with a delicate fruit flavouring, this might well be the tea for you!

There is a burst of fresh sweetness when opening the envelope. Once brewed the sweet aroma carries through. The first sip tastes like a fresh pear with a wonderful subtle sweetness with the same flavor staying after the tea is gone. Second cup I tried ice and the flavor is still strong. By my third cup, the flavor has started to wane but hints still remain. (180F/3min)

Updated 1/9/22: This CommuniTEA packet has much more pear flavor than the previous one. This is a delicious tea that is great hot or iced. It seems to be a little sweeter when iced. Yum! 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

Previous review: This is a lovely, smooth white tea. I didn't have much pear flavor with my CommuniTEA packet, but I enjoyed it anyway. I think I need to order a sample package to fully experience the pear flavor

This is a lightly flavored tea which is nice iced and cool, but difficult to discern the flavor warm or hot. In some ways, it is hard to taste the intrinsic white tea flavor or the pear flavor because it is so subtle. At best, it has an unpleasant, artificial aftertaste, not a crisp finish. I think I like this tea best cold brewed, because even at 2 g per cup (almost 1 tablespoon!) I have a hard time tasting pear. it seems the flavor comes out better in hard water, and honey definitely does help, but any tastes I get from this tea still seem chemically fake, perfumy and not fruity. I do prefer plain white tea or peachy white tea or floral white tea more, especially the more complexly flavored Sweet Nothings tea to this one. This isn t bad for iced teas or rebrews, especially if you think of it more as a floral tea than a fruity tea. But either way, it is not a winner in my book. @adagioteas

Crisp fresh pear flavor and light white tea, no need to add anything. This was good hot, but I feel it would be even better cold. Only a touch of astringency, beautiful pear aroma, and a golden color liquor. (175° for 2 minutes.)

I enjoyed this blend so much last time we sampled it that I purchased a large bag of it.

UPDATE!!! NEW REVIEW ( Same ) No Change. CommuniTEA Packet :

OLD REVIEW : JAN 27, 2013 : I have ordered white pear many times over the years and it has slightly a different taste from when I first tasted the flavored white tea. This Tea is a very nice mellow and light ripe pear taste that is wonderful with sweetener. (a must like honey or any sweetener) White Pear makes a nice hot tea and an incredible iced tea.

UPDATE:10/13/21 Such a fruity smell emanating from the CommuniTea packet. It steeps into a beautiful golden elixir. It is tasty as is - but adding ¼ teaspoon of Truvia sweetener (to 10 oz) really brings out the sweet pear flavor.
White teas are so unique, and I am surprised every time I drink one. This one was no exception. As a fruit, pears are rather mildly flavored (to me anyhow). This white tea smells like pear before I steep it, and has a lovely mild pear flavor as I drink it, first hot, then as it cools. I really like this tea, and it steeps very nicely 2 times! If you are more inclined to spicier or stronger teas, (which I am) this one may seem too mild for you, however if you are a fan of whites, this is a lovely version, and worth having in your cupboard. (3 mins @ 180ºF + sweetener).

NEW REVIEW: SAME ' NO Change'
CommuniTEA: Packet

OLD REVIEW!!! : July 26th 2009: This tea has become one of my favorite white teas. White pear is great hot and incredible as an iced tea. This tea is light, but refreshing with lots of flavor. The tea taste like a good ripe brown pear. So so Delicious! I had to use sweetener to bring out the pear flavor.

1/9/22 Update: I recently purchased a bigger bag of this tea and it is so flavorful with the pear shining through. This is one of my go to teas, always stocked in the pantry.
I love fruit flavored white tea but with this particular tea, I am only tasting the white tea and no pear flavor. Wonder how this would change if Adagio would use dried pears instead of pear flavor? That being said, it is still a good delicate white tea.
