It was good, but fairly subtle in flavor. I enjoyed it, but I think I have to be the in correct mood to get the most out of it.
White peony leaves pressed into a small square shape for easy transport. The aroma is fresh, with the classic notes of cucumber and sweet melon.

I'm not overly enamored with these. I found myself putting them in a bag instead of loose. Also, not much flavor.
I got three infusions of this, the second for four minutes and the third steeped for five. I don’t think it really can handle a third infusion though, that one was much weaker and needed some honey to wake it up. Honey is a good pairing due to a light, sweet and grassy aroma, almost floral, reminding me a lot of a field of clovers. I think it’ got that and a bit of a slight vegetal bitterness, where cucumber or Korean melon comes to mind as a good comparison. Overall it’s very refreshing, and I really enjoyed watching the full leaves expand from the cookie over time. I think I prefer this method of preparation over just loose white peony leaves, and I’d buy these again. Happy that I have more cookies to share in the future!
Really cool to watch unfold and easy to transport, but not a lot of flavor
Loved this tea, I swear they never disappoint, a must try!
I drink a lot of white tea because I’m limited on my caffeine take each day. White Squares is unique among the white teas. It has that molasses-like flavor of the cake Pu’erh Teas. But it’s white! I can get 2, sometimes 3 brews from the leaves. You can see from the photo that these are full leaves, and the flavor reflects that.
This is a light and fragrant tea, with undertastes of caramel and green melon. The sample pouch came with more 'cookies' than I expected, so that's nice. Also pleasant to watch the tea unfold itself from the square as it steeps.
Holy crap are these things good. They have a light floral smell and an almost buttery mouthfeel that is just sooo smooth.
One of my new faves for a delicious white tea sip. Easy to take along while traveling. I like that it’s proportioned into the squares. I have tossed into a thermos and refill water as necessary as well as steep it gong fu
These are not your ordinary cookies, they are white peony tea leaves pressed into a small square shape for easy transport. They have the same sweetness and freshness as white peony tea, with its honeydew flavor, with hint of cucumber.
Good light tea. Very nice “hairs” in the cup. Very smooth and easy drinking. The squares are fun also. Great deal for the price
easy to store and interesting preparation. Generally all around good white tea. Its subtle, sweet, with a hint of earthy floral. Good daily white tea.
Refreshing yet cozy. Honestly a great mix to have at anytime, or when you just can't pick what to have. Love having this as a morning cup
I love using this on my tea ceremony perfect size for my gaiwan. I like it simple and delicate. Will buy again
The tea smells strongly floral, similar to a jasmine with hints of melon and white grapes. The cup is brown honey colored, surprisingly dark for a white tea. It has an earthy, straw and dried flower scent. It tastes very earthy and mineraly, with subtle fig and mellon notes and a fresh, almost minty finish. A second cup reveals a slight sourness with more lingering fig notes. This is a beautifully complex tea in a lovely package, a perfect gift for any tea connoisseur.
Out of the three white teas I purchased, I enjoyed this one the best. The browned leaves gave a bit of aged taste to the tea as opposed to the very green taste of the White Peony and White Symphony. I think that these tea cookies are convenient for travel and they might age well.
These are so handy! I love the aesthetic of tea cakes and tea bricks and these squares! I generally could steep it twice.
A nice, delicate white tea. You can definitely taste the cucumber.
I purchased this as a sampler and can't wait to order more. The aroma and taste was smooth and pleasant
Novel format that makes a good cup of tea. Little bit grassy and a bit buttery. Very nice with a bit of honey.
These are a nice, convenient way to make a premeasured cup of tea. The flavor itself is pretty average, a sweet and floral tea with a surprisingly dark color.
Never had peony tea before but it’s a must try! Can def taste cucumber
I love the idea of a condensed tea. It's easy to bring along and will be my go-to travel tea. the tea itself is very smooth and light. It's perfect for warm weather and the floral notes of peony are quite delightful.
An interesting tea but it tasted more like unripe honeydew than a delicious white tea. I do love all the other white teas I’ve tried from Adagio Tea but this one is not for me.
I love these so much!! They're a fun novelty but also taste very good.
These are just so cute and fun to use! They're perfect for when you want to bring tea with you, but not the messiness of loose leaf.
A very tasty tea and the square shape is fun to make
nice gentle taste, novelty cuteness, like little tea biscuits
I've had these lovely squares once before and I really love the flavor and feel of the tea on my tongue. I also experimented with cold brew and enjoy it that ways as well. Almost syrupy in smoothness while also not being too dry.
I could not wait to try these, they are perfect squares, pressed. The body goes medium with a very light brew but that divine white tea flavor. I wanted these for a tea party, to set at each cup and it went over great!
These square are about the size and thickness of a Saltine cracker. Great low caffeine option.
High quality white tea with a pleasant smell and taste. I used 2/3 of the cookie with 16 oz of water,
Great cup! Very traditional flavor and perfectly balanced. I’ve drank it as-is and drank it sweetened with rock sugar. Either way you won’t be disappointed with the flavor. And you can steep it 3x!!
These are beautiful. Definitely a perfect fit for impressing company. Nice mellow flavor and very refreshing. I'd definitely buy this again.
White Squares is a compressed 'cookie', or small tea cake that brews about 2-3 cups if prepared Western Style. I prefer to brew gongfu for pure teas, and this White Peony tea holds up well to 4-5 steeps, when 1/2 of the cookie is used per session. It is a light but somewhat neutral taste profile, but enjoyable. The novelty of this form is fun to watch if a clear brewing vessel is used.
fun way to enjoy a white tea and convenient for travel
One cookie makes an entire pot of tea. This tea was a more delicate flavor than black or green tea but is delicious as is - without any sweetener. It blends well with a slice of citrus (lemon, lime, orange, or grapefruit).
These were cute, fun, and lightly floral tasting. 🙂
Love these! Coming back for more. Nice quality and taste.
This is a fun way to enjoy a delicate cup of white tea. Break up about 1/3 to 1/2 of a 'cookie' and add hot water - sit back and watch the magic of the expanding leaves! This tea has a smooth, delicate flavor that goes down quicker than planned. Oops! I have to make another cup! @adagioteas
I love these squares! They are perfect for multiple steeps. The flavor is subtle so it's a great palette cleanser.
These are a fun way to enjoy a nice white tea with smooth flavor.
I used half a cookie in 8 oz. of water at the recommended temperature for the lower time. Yum! This one has a 'dark' taste-- kind of intense for a white. I can maybe taste a hint of melon but I wouldn't say cucumber. Some whites don't have a lot of flavor, but with this one, there is-- definitely more than slightly colored water. :)
When I received the tea, I thought it was one solid cookie. I didn't realize that they are fairly thin sheets until I opened the sample package. Well, goody! More is better. LOL
Conflicting measurements. The website claims that one cookie is good for 2-3 cups, while the package claims that one cookie is for one cup. I found both of these to be untrue, and ended up splitting one of these huge squares in half to make one cast iron teapot, which crumbled some of it and kind of broke the charm of the cookie. The tea was absolutely delicious which is saving the review. I dont know how it would taste if the ratio was as directed, the tea is light enough that it might have been fine. I guess I'm a bit too rebellious to let the tea supplier decide what a proper portion is. All this being said, i think the aesthetic quality is totally worth it if you have one of those big glass teapots, and again, the tea itself is delicious.
Meh. The novelty of having tea in pressed form wasn’t worth the price. And make sure you aren’t expecting it to taste like cookies 😂
super interesting and fun presentation. theres something so satisfying about cutting or breaking a piece off and then dropping it into your cup! the tea itself is nice, light, and smooth, @adagioteas
I love the uniqueness of this tea! I used about half of it in a small personal teapot. Light floral aroma. Subtle, sweet and delicate in flavor.
This tea is great, the presentation is fun, and when sweetened I get floral flavors and honey (despite adding no honey).
This was a smooth malty white tea. The leaves expand and fill the entire cup. I recommend brewing in a glass teapot to view the beauty of the unfolding leaves.
Neat concept ! Tastes very nice . Mild yet flavorful . I’d try again !
