Light and lovely to have after my lunch. Gave me a little kick to finish my day. I enjoyed the subtle flavor, much needed today.
Silver Needle white tea is among the most revered of Chinese teas. Gathered only for a few days in early spring, a dedication to perfection is evident in the pale, ivory-colored liquor. Delicately honeysuckle floral, with a warmed sugar sweetness.

Light and lovely to have after my lunch. Gave me a little kick to finish my day. I enjoyed the subtle flavor, much needed today.
Light and delicate! Steeped at 180F for 3min this was a beautiful light clear tea, the color of a white grape/pear juice or wine, and it smelled vaguely sweet with a slight floral hint. It has a fleeting taste to match the color well. Again, light and vaguely sweet, like a faint honeysuckle. This is definitely a tea that wants you to stop and sip thoughtfully. Did I mention it is very light?
A delicate white tea with a subtle sweetness, buttery mouthfeel, and a light astringency. I was able to get 3 steeps.
This was a nice, light tea. It has a mild earthiness while still tasting refreshing. I would have this tea again.
Love when CommuniTea presents a single ingredient tea to try as it is nice to return to the foundations of teatime. This white tea was lovely and light with a touch of creaminess. Perfect tea for an afternoon sipping experience.
Like most reviewers, I REALLY enjoyed this tea. Such a lovely, delicate flavor, really enjoyable. Smooth mouthfeel as well. Very delicious. The second steeping was still great. I would definitely recommend this tea.
Oh my goodness, I don't know what to say, except that this tea is delightful and dreamy and every time I drink it I can't stop smiling. I love a good silver needle tea, and this one is very, very good.
This tea is very smooth and delicate. I enjoyed several cups this morning. You should take time to appreciate this one.
This silver needle tea was light with a very slight note of apricot. Easy to drink, hot, warm, or cold. Definitely multiple steeps in these delicate leaves! Elegance in a cup! Happy sipping!
First time having silver needle but won't be my last. Yum!
A delicate, almost perfume-like tea with a subtle sweetness. It leaves a sort of faint warmth at the back of your throat.
Dry notes: light jasmine floral scent.
Steeped: A pleasant delicate tasting white tea. Glad I tried it.
It is refreshing to get a tea with no frills or added flavors; just the gentle flavor of the leaves in their surprising complexity.
This white tea steeps to a delicate taste with grassy, faintly sweet and floral notes, honeysuckle fragrance on a light breeze. Clover honey is an adequate sweetener for the flavor profile, helping to draw out the sweet nectars of the notes.
I’m not a fan of white or green teas. This was a delicate tea. Brewed at 176° for 2 1/2 minutes, the resulting brew was light and straw colored, and honestly tasted a bit hay like. While not unpleasant, it wasn’t in the wheelhouse of the bolder, richer teas I normally choose. It was nice to try something different though.
Very light, sweet flavor. Enjoyable, relaxing tea to drink.
Delicious! Delicate and sweet, and reminded me almost of an oolong tea. I don't usually like white teas but this was lovely.
Very good light tea smooth taste, light honeysuckle taste, very good☕️🫖
A faintly sweet, floral yet grassy scent emanates from today's packet as it opens. Inside were some furry silver needle white tea leaves. The VelociTEA maker's white tea button made quick work of the 180°F steep for 3 minutes. It produced a translucent tea with a shade of yellow.
The cup's steam gave off the same floral grassy aromas as I waited for it to cool down enough to sip. The first taste contained plenty of delicate lightly vegetal and fresh brothy notes.
A semisweet floral quality pervaded each sip. The mouthfeel was silky smooth with a slightly dry astringency at the finish.
Overall, this is an excellent batch of a classic Silver Needle tea. If you enjoy delicate yet flavorful white teas, this one should be on the top of your list.
Since I tasted this from a communiTEA sample the sample was small. I even brewed with only 4 oz of water and didn't get much taste from the tea, so I don't think the sample was large enough to really taste this tea based on my personal taste.
This is one of my favorite teas to steep hot for three minutes then drink hot or cold. I’ve also made blend with it. Maybe one day I’ll even post those blends on here. It has a delicious floral sort of flavor.
Teas like this are why I joined the CommuniTEA - to try things I never would have, otherwise! I'm not wild about white teas, so the odds of me paying top dollar for a premium white tea were pretty low. But now that I've tasted it? I may need some more in my next order. It's delicate, smooth, just slightly sweet, and absolutely delicious. This is an indulgence, for sure, but hey, we all have to treat ourselves sometimes, right?
Very tasty tea. After usually going for bolder black teas and strong blends, this was a relaxing change for my pallette
It's like the gourmet version of white tea.
Always check your temperature recommendations!
When steeped at suggested temp/time:
I wonder if I should not have eaten lunch before having this tea...I can barely taste any flavor! I also am getting no scent--I smelled something else to make sure I hadn't lost my sense of smell! But no. The only flavor I am getting is more like sensation--a slight buttery mouthfeel followed by a bit of tartness, like unripe fruit. I wish I could taste the flavors others mention in this one, but it barely tastes different from warm water to me.
UPDATE: Omg, once this first steep cooled to almost room temperature, I was suddenly able to taste apricot and floral notes! It is still extremely mild though.
A very yummy plain tea, with some light honey notes!
I love these delicate drinkers. I once heard someone describe these types of white teas as drinking the 'teardrops of tea' and I thought it was an apt description. These cups are about pure expression. I love the light mouthfeel and the creaminess that coats. There is a delicate taste of florals, stonefruits and grass that is wonderful. I can't rave enough about this tea. Sip it slow and enjoy its quality. Happy Sipping!
I haven't tried many white teas so I appreciated this novel experience. I loved everything about this tea: from it's lovely apricot and almost-honeysuckle-like flavor, to it's adorable, little fuzzy leaves. The body of the tea is delicate, but the flavor is so bright and nuanced. I would happily drink this again.
Enjoying with the CommuniTEA: I notice subtle oxidized tea notes from the dry ingredients and packet. Once steeped for 3 mins at 185° F, I see a pale liquid with earthy oxidized white tea notes. When I take a sip, I detect a very subtle herbaceous (more hay-like than grass) tea finishing with an almost eucalyptus fragrance.
Oh Wow! I could drink this all day. Gold color: check. Fresh tasting: check. This is everything a white tea needs to taste like. I will take every re-steeping I can.
This is a good white tea. If that’s your thing it is appropriately delicate and has a mild flavor. Not to my preferences because I prefer the stronger black teas but I can tell it is a good quality tea.
This is my second time tasting this tea. Last time it was in a small bag (from the advent calendar) and I had to measure the water temperature by hand. This time I have all the right tools and was optimistic that it would make all the difference. It’s a lot better than before, but I still find it to be quite bland, like many white teas. I have a hard time finding any floral notes in this. It’s a meh for me.
CommuniTEA Sample: Outstanding white tea that is extremely smooth and great to drink. No earthiness or grassiness at all, but just a smooth, almost creamy, flavor. I prefer to use gong fu method instead of western brew as it draws out more flavor. An excellent tea!
This is a perfect tea. The fragrance is light and the taste very smooth no bitterness.
So far I have cold brewed and it is such a light fresh flavor I am loving it.
I've long enjoyed this tea as an iced tea and a back drop for self-created blends. Always welcome in my house!
Today is going to be a crazy busy day for me. I ran out the door and threw my packet in my bag without taking the time to sit and sip calmly before work like I usually do. It was an hour and a half before I could even attempt to steep. I took my first sip. And the whole stress of the day ahead just slowed down. The light soothing nature of this tea made m stop for a moment and just appreciate. There’s a floral quality that helps me understand why this tea is such a natural carrier for jasmine. I can’t say it took away all of the worries of the day. But it did encourage me to hide in a corner where people can’t see me to take just a quiet moment with my tea 😁
The Silver Needle tea starts off with warm grassy notes with subtle undertones of delicate sweet florals and the slightest hint of fruit at the back of the palette. The Silver Needles have a natural sweetness that is present when warmed and has some of the smoothest mouthfeel that I have ever discovered in a tea.
This tea is great for a light and delicate cup in the early afternoon or during a sun shower while reading a book. Absolutely a lovely tea!
I brewed mine at 170*F for 3 minute.
Very smooth, with no bitterness. A slight taste of green grapes on the finish. Perfect iced or hot.
Really enjoyed this one! Delicate and subtle with a very smooth, buttery mouthfeel. Light floral aroma and gentle astringency to finish.
A beautiful tea all around. Does not need anything except it's delicious self.
I made the mistake of cold-brewing this tea today, and the flavor profile is definitely too light for that. What is coming through, I do enjoy and I can tell it would be amazing hot. Really wish I’d brewed it hot. It’s going on the wishlist.
Tea, just tea, perfect,
Slightly sweet, ever so right
Smooth and delicious

Great tea!
A smooth and light tasting tea. It has a nice aroma of honeysuckle.
Very aromatic and subtle notes. Nice tea will order again
One of my favor white teas. Smooth and light flavor with no bitterness make this tea awesome.
This is a great tea choice, can’t go wrong with it. Nice sweet notes to it.
My favorite white tea. Delicate light but satisfying flavor. Great for when you need to focus but don't want to feel any caffeine buzz. Very subtle. Perfect for the mid- afternoon slump when you still have work to do but don't want to be kept up all night by too much caffeine. I love this tea.
This is my favorite hot tea! It has a wonderful light flavor with hints of vanilla. Very relaxing!
This is fine, but nowhere near as good as the Jasmine Silver Needle.
