I sometimes have a dry throat, and this tea seems to really help with that. The flavor is a bit unusual, but not unpleasant - anise, licorice, and cinnamon burst forward.

This was my first experience with a medicinal herbal blend. The flavor was pleasant and comforting, and the warm tea with a touch of honey did indeed bring comfort to my scratchy throat and calmed the tickles. I even enjoyed a second steeping.

Lifted from my review of the Cold and Flu Sampler and edited a bit: The taste of this Throat Therapy tea is sadness and torture because of the licorice and aniseed. If you like those flavors then you'll probably be fine with it. However, despite the horrendous taste the real question is... does it make my throat feel better? The answer is yes. The weather was warming up (hit 80 one day in early spring WOW pls stop) aaaannnd then it chilled WAY off. As a result I ended up with a little dryness and discomfort in my throat (not unusual when the weather does a roller-coaster impression). I reached for my sample of Throat Therapy and drank it between bites of a homemade chocolate chip cookie (ok... two cookies), which let me finish the tea with less suffering. So kudos because it does what it’s intended to do.

Review based on effects rather than flavor: very nice that Adagio combined all these great remedies into one tea. It doesn’t taste too bad either.

All ingredients appeared to be present in my communiTEA packet. I really liked this one, It made my mouth and throat happy. The licorice was naturally sweet. Don’t even think about adding any sugar! The slippery elm made for a pleasant coating of all flavors in my mouth. I loved this blend so much, that I’ve already purchased and received an order for more on 18 Aug. This one is heavy duty in flavor! (5 mins @ 212°F, no sugar)

Sore throats are not fun, but the hot drinks you can have are a highlight. This tea, however, is so good that you might just find yourself yelling so you can partake of it. Too good to wait until you are sick.

Nice herbal tea. When hot flavors of licorice and slippery elm came through. As it cooled the hibiscus and orange came forward along with the tangy flavor of the raspberry leaf. The blend had a nice cinnamon finish. Very nice herbal blend.

This tea is really good for clearing my throat. I sing a lot and I find it hits the spot before as well after some singing. Additionally, I think it will be very beneficial when I get sore throats which is pretty common for me.

This is a decent tea with nice flavor, though I’m a bit picky with my tea so it’s not my favorite ever.

UPDATE: my throat has been sore this week so I've been sipping this like crazy. I add some honey in there and it is wonderful!

I've now tried this twice, once when I had a cold, and once after I recovered. It did feel nice on my throat when I was sick, though maybe not more than any other hot drink.

This is a very mild flavored herbal tea, naturally sweet and not bitter or medicinal. I could taste the licorice/anise most prominently, which I appreciated (licorice haters, YMMV), and maybe the hibiscus behind that. I couldn't taste the orange or cinnamon much at all, but none of the inclusions are super strong and if you have a stuffy nose when you drink it, no scent at all will get through. I don't think it needs any sweetener; in fact, the taste is so light that sugar might overwhelm it.

Still it's a nice cup for an afternoon drink or to sooth a sore throat, if you enjoy anise.

While I'm normally not a licorice fan, I LOVE it in my tea. This blend is strong and sweet.

Yummy :) It tastes equally of cinnamon, licorice, and something sweet (not sure which ingredient(s) result in that part). The cinnamon is mostly an aftertaste rather than a while-drinking taste. I also have the Throat Coat tea by Traditional Medicinals, and this one is sweet whereas that one isn't, and this one's cinnamon + licorice is milder. I really like the cinnamon + licorice aftertaste of both, but I guess if you don't like those flavors then that would be a bad thing instead of a good thing.

This tea is sweet and pleasant, very licorice prominent. I find it preferable to a competitor s throat-calming wellness blend featuring peppermint. The cinnamon provides a warming aftertaste and the aniseed adds bit of lift, but I think the orange, raspberry, and hibiscus are lost in the mix, at least for me. It does not taste medicinal, but it wouldn t be great for a daily tea, a bit too out-of-the-ordinary for that. I think my biggest issue is the fuzziness and smell of the ingredients. It looks like a mix of bark and moss with just enough dryer lint to hold it in clumps, and it smells like day-old hamster woodchips. It does taste good, which continues to amaze me. It s sweet even without additives. And it does provide a soothing effect on the throat. But I continue to cringe every time I open the package, and I seem to forget to reach for it every time I actually have a sore throat. Maybe I ll tie it in tea bags so I can get the therapeutic effects without having to actually look at those fuzzy leaves.

The strongest smell is something woodsy, which I think might be the slippery elm. Not actually much licorice smell, which considering there is both that and aniseed visible, is a bit strange. The blend has some very fluffy leaves and plant matter mixed with basically shards and sticks of the rest of the ingredients.

I'm not tasting much licorice nor aniseed, which I'm sensitive to - I learned to like it a few years back but spent years not liking it. Not actually sure what the dominant taste is here.

Spring allergies are kicking my ass, but tea definitely helps!

Was slightly wary since I'm not a huge licorice fan, but the flavors blend well and it is a rather refreshing tea.

Tasty some times, at other times, not too good. Hard to mix into the right combination. It did help my throat though.

My allergies have been crazy this year! I don't normally get sore throats, but I have this year! Saw the post and decided to give it a shot. I purchased the smallest amount in case I didn't like.
Well... after I added a bit of honey, I can honestly say I really like! I drank some last night and the rest this morning. My throat definitely felt better. I will order a bigger size next time.

I was worried that it would taste like licorice, but fear not. Instead there s this really bitter after taste that upset my stomach. Tried adding a teaspoon of sugar and this did not fix it. I m glad I tried it in the sample, but man, it is not the tea for me

I had to give this away. It was just too weird for me

★★★★☆

I got this to try something other than the Yogi throat comfort. The flavor is good but wish it had something else. Like one more spice in it, but it's good.

★★★☆☆

While it did soothe my throat, I prefer the taste of a similar tea from a grocery-store brand that shall not be named...

★★☆☆☆

This tea smells so great! I really wanted to love it, but even without sweetener it is too sweet for me.

★★★★★

The smell of this one is weird, but the brewed flavor does not really taste like it smells. It’s still there faintly, but the licorice/anise covers it well. Very sweet (I don’t see how anyone would want to add any sweetener) and has a coating effect, so I could really see how this could help with a sore throat. I’ll certainly be keeping this one on hand. It is currently my favorite tea to just drink, but I definitely am partial to the licorice.

I love this after a long day of talking in meetings and classes. It is soothing, especially with a little bit of honey. i will be ordering again!

Soothing on a scratchy throat--not sure if I had a cold or just strained my throat, but either way, it helped. Similar basic flavor to Traditional Medicinals Throat Coat tea but milder and much tastier, and doesn't give me heartburn like Throat Coat does. Very light in color when brewed, but still flavorful.
